You'll find loops, hairpin turns, high speed and rock & roll at this attraction where Aerosmith is your host...

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is a high speed launched steel coaster with loops and the music of the famous rock band Aerosmith. There music is used on the onride music systems of the coaster cars. It takes 2.8 seconds to get you from 0 to 100 km/h straight into a first big loop. Riders will hit that first loop experiencing 4,5G. That is more G-force then during a launch of a space shuttle. With these impressive number Rock 'n' Roller Coaster proofs to be the fastest attraction in Disneyland Paris.

In the pre-show area guests are welcomed by the Aerosmith musicians whom are working inside a studio of the Tour the Force Records where a maquette of the Rock 'n' Roller coaster is set up. Steve Tyler, the lead singer, appears a little later in the studios. He has just seen the ride itself. He invites the people in the waiting area to advance to experience the ride for themselves. A short queue later it's time to ride it yourself.

Guest will board one of the 5 trains, each with a unique soundtrack. Every one of the ride experiences is different as not only will guest have 5 music tracks, but also 5 different light shows. All you have to do is ride it at least 5 times and hope to sit in a different coaster train every time.

The coaster trains are called “Soundtrackers” and will take guests trough the variation of light shows that include, lights, strobes, projectors, lighting rigs and smoke effects within a dark environment. Every one of the 5 experiences is different where the show is programmed to fit the music from the Soundtracker you are in.

  • Soundtracker 1: green and yellow light show theme - music track; "Back In The Saddle" and "Dude Looks Like A Lady".
  • Soundtracker 2: pink light show theme - music track; "Young Lust", "F.I.N.E." and "Love In An Elevator".
  • Soundtracker 3: multi colour light show theme - music track; "Love In An Elevator" and "Walk This Way".
  • Soundtracker 4: red and yellow light show theme - music track; "Nine Lives".
  • Soundtracker 5: blue light show theme - music track; "Sweet Emotion (live)".

While these songs are existing Aerosmith songs, some of the lyrics have been changed especially for the attraction. For example the "Love In An Elevator" is now having the lyrics “Love in a roller coaster”.

If you've been brave enough to endure the coaster but are scared nobody at home will believe you did ride it then you could buy the onride photo that was taken at the launch of the coaster. Photo's can be bought at the exit of the actual ride, just a couple of footsteps away from the attraction itself, right next to the shop.

Specials

The first Rock 'n' Roller coaster opened in 1999 at the Disney Hollywood Studios (when it was still MGM studios). This version has a different story as the one in Paris. In the US version the band needs to get to their next concert in time. To be able to make it they invite the guest to share a limo ride with them so they all make it in time to the concert.

The attraction is build by the Dutch company Vekoma and is a generic attraction that can be found in other theme parks. There is a version in Walibi World in Holland. This track was build in 2000 as the Superman The Ride but renamed in 2005 to Xpress.

To be able to have this coaster fit into a building they first build the coaster and later constructed the building around it.

The Walt Disney World version in the Disney Hollywood Studios has a giant red Fender Stratocaster guitar gracing the front of the building, a different look from the one in Paris.

Both Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain are also Vekoma coasters.

There is a big collection of autographed memorabilia in the first queue area from famous rock artists. Some of these items are signed instruments, gold records and rare European tour posters.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster might be the fastest attraction in Paris, but it's "only" the second fastest Disney attraction. Test Track in Epcot at Walt Disney World is the fastest Disney attraction with a speed of up to 104.6km/h
