A first Goodbye and many Surprises

In the following sixtie minutes a continuous flow of parties arrives handing in their forms and pressuring to learn the answers to what they felt were the most difficult questions - a request that had to be turned down till later that night... In the meantime those parties which handed their forms in and all those fans who opted out of the Trivia Hunt were meeting on the Main Street, where the walkway from Town Square Photography on the corner of the Town Square all the way up to the upper end of Disney Clothiers, Ltd. had been roped off by the castmembers of Pin Trading with the help of Guest Flow Castmembers to reserve a special viewing area for the second to last performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade.

To make work a bit easier for these castmembers (as guests startet to line up as early as 6.00 pm for the MSEP to secure a good spot) and to find some more time to chat with fellow fans everybody met in this viewing area already as of six o'clock - and with the camera crew also on site the time till 7.30 went by lightning fast, the lights dimmed at the famous announcement rang ... followed by an impressive lineup of floats and dancers, even so some minor elements were still missing from the MSEP - as the fans soon noticed from their unique front row locations on the curb, most of them even sitting on the ground.

But when the lights came up again there were more than a few tears to see - as not everybody was able to stay late on Sunday to see the final performance. After a last "goodbye wave" the whole group set off to the Disney's Newport Bay Club Convention Center where the Fanmeeting Area had been set up for a long night of Pin Trading!

Ninefingers had set up a giant display on one of the room's walls presenting a huge collection of pins in style while nearly hundred pin traders took a seat on the table lining the remaing walls and in the center of the room to display their collections in the Pin Trading Books and preparing for numerous trades with the guests of the Fanmeeting who got joined by many local pin traders and guests of the Disney Hotels who found their way to this part of the meeting thanks to huge sinage and posters placed all over the resort by the Pin Trading Team of the Resort. At times more than 200 guests frequented the area at the same time not only to trade taking adventage of the many international collectors who traveled from as far as the US to this event but also to have another chat with Nigel Bratcher who joined the fun later in evening just like Alain Littaye, the photographer and co-author of the ultimate DLRP-book Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality, who signed his book.

But Alain had one more suprise in store - when Warren announced the two winning teams of the Trivia Hunt Alain Littaye was on hand with a special prize!
The first place belonged to Sophie Rigo who unfortunately was not among the guests anymore during the evening so her prize, a limited edition copy of Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality signed by Alain Littaye, has been placed in the storage till it can be handed to her during one of her next visits to the resort (Sophie Rigo: please contact DLP.info to receive your book).
A team of three consisting of Andreas, Marc and Katja made it to the second place and were awarded a signed copy of the "normal" edition of Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality. As one of the three already had a copy the two other members decided to split the costs, buy another copy of the book and get it signed too - just as many other guests during the evening.

While the evening went on more and more guests came to the Fanmeeting area to chat with fellow fans in small groups dispersed all over the convention center's lobby, certainly to trade some pins but also to learn the newest information about upcoming pins from DLRP as the Pin Trading Team had put up a board with old long sold-out but also with prototypes of upcoming pin releases with a castmember ready to answer all questions regarding Pin Trading all night long with a happy smile - even so it got very late!

In fact the evening proofed so popular that it continued till long after midnight when the last trades were made and the last groups of fans who had used the evening to chat about their "home resort" left the fanmeeting area for a short nap - among them Nigel Bratcher who even so not answering any questions about the Tower of Terror was all night long the center of huge groups of fans eager for a personal views from backstage...

Der Strom der Teams mit ihren Bögen riss dann in den folgenden 60 Minuten auch gar nicht mehr ab - genausowenig wie die Fragen nach den richtigen Antworten, die es aber erst am Abend geben sollte... Direkt nach der Abgabe der Bögen war es dann auch schon Zeit sich wieder mit den Fans zu treffen, die nicht an der Trivia Hunt teilnahmen. Und zwar auf der Main Street, wo der Bürgersteig von Town Square Photography am Town Square bis zum oberen Ende von Disney Clothiers, Ltd. exklusiv für Gäste des Fanmeetings als Zuschauerbereich gesperrt worden war durch die Castmember von Pin Trading und Guest Flow anlässlich der vorletzten Main Street Electrical Parade.

Um Ihnen die Arbeit des Freihaltens des Bereiches zu erleichtern (sicherten ich doch zahlreiche Gäste schon um 18.00 Ihren Platz für die Parade) und um noch ein wenig mit anderen Fans zu plauschen, traf man sich in dem abgesperrten Bereich ab 18.00 Uhr - wo auch wieder die TV-Crew zur Stelle war. Die Zeit bis 19.30 verging dann auch wie im Fluge, als dann die Lichter gedimmt wurden und die berühmte Ansage erklang ... gefolgt von einer beeindruckenden Darbietung der MSEP mit beinahe allen Wagen und Tänzern, wie alle Fans feststellen konnten, dank der hervorragenden Plätze in der ersten Reihe - teilweise sogar sitzend!

Gerade da nicht alle Fans am Sonntag bis zur letzten Parade im Resort bleiben konnten, ist es da nur verständlich, dass auch die eine oder andere Träne vergossen wurde. Nach einem letzten Winken zum Abschied ging es dann für alle zurück in Disney's Newport Bay Club Convention Center zu einer langen Pin Trading Nacht!

Ninefingers hatte an einer der Wände des Raumes ein gigantisches Display für seine riesige Pinsammlung aufgestellt, während fast 100 weitere Trader die Tische im Raum mit Beschlag belegten, um ihre Sammlungen in Pin Trading Books zu präsentieren - bereits für die zahlreichen Trades nicht nur mit Gästen des Fanmeetings, sondern auch mit Pinsammlern aus der Umgebung, die speziell zum Pin Trading Event am Abend eintrafen, und auch Hotelgästen, die durch die großzügige Beschilderung und Poster angelockt wurden, die das Pin Trading Team im gesamten Resort platziert hatte. Zeitweise fanden sich so weit mehr als 200 Gäste im Fanmeeting-Bereich und nutzen die Gelegenheit auch internationale Pins zu ertauschen, waren einige Fans doch eigens zu dem Event sogar aus den USA angereist. Zwischen all den Trades bot sich auch die Gelegenheit für interessante Gespräche mit mit Nigel Bratcher, der am späten Abend nochmals das Fanmeeting besuchte, und natürlich mit Alain Littaye, Photograph und Co-Autor  des ultmiativen DLRP-Buchs Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality, der natürlich dieses auch gerne signierte.

Alain hatte dabei noch eine besondere Überraschung parat - als Warren die Gewinner der Trivia Hunt bekannt gab, war Alain zur Stelle mit einem ganz besonderen Preis!
Den ersten Platz erreichte Sophie Rigo, die leider bereits abgereist war, so dass sie ihren Preis, eine Ausgabe der limitierten Edition von Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality, signiert von Alain Littaye, nicht entgegennehmen konnte (Sophie Rigo: bitte kontaktieren Sie DLP.info, um das Buch zu erhalten).
Ein Team bestehend aus Andreas, Marc und Katja kam auf den zweiten Platz und erhielt dafür eine "normale" signierte Ausgabe von Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality. Da einer der drei das Buch bereits besaß, beschlossen sie, die Kosten für eine weitere Ausgabe zu teilen, damit dann jedes Mitglied des Teams das Buch genießen konnte - und es ließen auch das zweite Exemplar gleich signieren, wie zahlreiche weitere Gäste.

Den gesamten Abend über wuchs die Zahl der Fans weiter, die in die Fanmeeting Area kamen und schon bald war die gesammte Lobby des Convention Centers von kleinen Fangrüppchen besetzt, die nicht nur Pins tauschten, sondern sich in gemütlicher Runde austauschten. Derweile bot sich in den Fanmeeting-Räumen die Gelegenheiten alles über schon lange ausverkaufte oder noch gar nicht veröffentlichte Pins zu erfahren, hatte das Pin Trading Team doch eine Informationswand aufgebaut samt Pin-Prototypen! Fragen wurden während des gesamten Abends durch die gut gelaunten Castmember des Teams beantwortet - bis zu später Stunde!

Zum Abschluss kam der Abend erst weit nach Mitternacht, als die letzten Trader ihre Pins einpackten und sich die letzten Grüppchen auflösten, die den gesamten Abend über ihr "Heim-Resort" diskutiert hatten, dass sie nach einer kurzen Schlafpause weiter in Augenschein nehmen würden. "Stargast" auch der letzten Gruppen war natürlich Niger Bratcher, der bereitwillig alle Fragen zum Resort beantwortete, solange es nicht um den Tower of Terror ging...
