Goodby to a Classic ... and Hello to the Fans!

Over 200 fans from all over the world met for the fourth official international DLP.info Fanmeeting on the 22nd / 23rd of March 2003!

They had exhcanged e-mails and chatted, quiet a few of them had even learned to know some of their fellow fans during the frist three international DLP.info-Fanmeetings - and then in March 2003 it was time to reunite with international friends, time to enjoy our shared passion, the most magical place of all, the Disneyland Resort Paris!

As in the past the team of DLP.info had carefully chosen the date to offer all international fans more than "just" a Fanmeeting - in this case we joined the final Farewell-Weekend of the all-time classic nighttime spectacular, the Main Street Electrical Parade, on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2003.

Even so certainly the two final performances of the MSEP were highlights of the Fanmeeting-Weekend, and everybody prepared his cameras and kleenex for a wheeping goodbye to a traditonal of the resort, the team of DLP.info created an entertaining program to keep everybody entertained while still letting even more time to chat with fellow fans...

Curious what events awaited guests during the Fanmeeting?

There was a speech by Imagineer Nigel Bratcher, an exciting "knowledge treasure hunt" through the Disneyland Park (in English), a special viewing area for the second to last MSEP on Saturday after which the whole group enjoyed a long evening of chatting with a giant Pin Trading Event and Alain Littaye, photographer and co-author of the ultimate DLRP-book Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality signing his book. And this was just the Saturday!

On Sunday the 23rd of March the whole day had been set aside for guests to enjoy the parks together before Jean-Jacques Perrey the composer of the theme of the Main Street Electrical Parade, the "Baroque Hoedown", signed CDs of fans in the Fantasy Festical Stage to prepare everyone for the final goodbye to the Main Street Electrical Parade in the evening ... a celebration with lights, magic, tears and kleenex!!

Mehr als 200 Fans aus der ganzen Welt trafen sich beim vierten offiziellen internationalen DLP.info Fanmeeting am 22./23. März 2003!

Nachdem sie eMails ausgetauscht und gechattet hatten, sie sich vielleicht zumindest teilweise schon auf den ersten drei internationalen DLP.info-Fanmeetings kennen gelernt hatten, war es im März 2003 endlich Zeit sich mit ihren internationalen Freunden zu treffen, um gemeinsam unser aller Traum, den magischsten aller Orte, das Disneyland Resort Paris, zu erleben!

Wie schon in der Vergangenheit wählte das DLP.info-Team das Datum sorgfältig aus, um allen Fans mehr als "nur" ein Fanmeeting bieten zu können - in diesem Fall feierten wir das Abschieds-Wochenende der klassischen Nachtparade, der Main Street Electrical Parade, am 22. und 23. März 2003.

Auch wenn natürlich die beiden letzten Darbietungen der MSEP Höhepunkte des Fanmeeting-Wochenendes waren, und jeder Kameras und Taschentücher für das endgültige Goodby eines der Klassiker des Resorts bereithielt, hatte das Team von DLP.info zusätzlich ein unterhaltsames Programm entworfen, das auch großzügig Zeit bot, um einfach mit den übrigen Fans zu plauschen...

Was geboten wurde?

Zum Beispiel ein Vortrag des Imagineers Nigel Bratcher, eine aufregende "Wissens Schatzjagd" durch das Resort (in Englisch), ein reservierter Zuschauerbereich für die vorletzte MSEP am Samstag, an die sich ein laaanger Abend zum Plaudern anschloss samt riesigem PinTrading-Event mit internationalen Pinfreunden und zeitgleicher Signierstunde von Alain Littaye, Photograph und Co-Autor des legendären DLRP-Bandes Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality. Und das war nur der Samstag!

Am Sonntag den 23. wae dann der gesamte Tag zum gemeinsamen Besuch der Parks reserviert bis Jean-Jacques Perrey, der Komponisten des Themas der Main Street Electrical Parade, CDs signierte als Überleitung zum endgültigen Goodbye für die Main Street Electrical Parade ... eine Feier mit Licht, Magie, Tränen und Taschentüchern!!
