Are You a DLRP-Expert??

During the Goodbye MSEP Fanmeeting 2003 participants were able to test their knowledge or just have fun exploring the Disneyland Park on a journey taking them from hidden detail to hidden detail...

No matter wether you took part in our little experience and want to relieve it or wether you are just looking for some extra fun to add to your next visit to the resort - all you have to do is print out the questions - but don't try to cheat and look at the solution page!

Main Street, U.S.A.

Here you are welcomed in the happiest place on earth, but this time it’s also the home of some tricky riddles – the Main Street, U.S.A.:
1 Some brothers join forces to make their business endeavours even more successful – and some of these are so successful that they branch out … soon their shops are forming a true chain – and no, we are not speaking of the Disney Bros. and their Emporium because “our” brothers even operate two stores in this street! This are the
2 He saved Rover, Rolly, Patch, Penny, Lucky, Freckles, Pepper and Spotty to name just 8 of 99 – now he stands as mascot for those who save lives and homes. Whom are we speaking of and whose mascot is he?
3 Music sets the atmosphere all over the Disneyland Resort Paris. This certainly does include the Main Street – but did you ever hear “The Music of Commerce” here? Well maybe you did not hear it – but you could have seen this! So which is the “best instrument” on which this music “should be played”?
4 Time To Trade In! Pins? Not really the right clue … which shop advertises its offerings with the slogan “Time To Trade In”? A small hint: look for the time!
5 Where can you “Step Back in Time”, “Join the Cheers” with “Bands, Banners”, “Feasts, Fanfare, Fireworks”?
6
13
Market House Daily or Dapper Dan’s Hair Cuts – these are just two locations where you can listen in the party line – the shared telephone line of four or five households. According to the text on the telephones what conversation are you eavesdropping in then?

13
Now take a few minutes to walk the length of the Main Street, U.S.A., again – in the Discovery Arcade. Here huge posters offer a glance of large American cities as they might have been envisioned by artists of the 19th century … After a close look at all of these works of art tell us: some of the posters while in the same style “differ from the majority of the other posters of the cities” as they miss some information the overwhelming majority features. On these “exceptional” posters which cities are depicted?

Discoveryland

While great minds haven unveiled their audiences only a short personal view into the future for centuries, you can step into it here, by turning to the right; just don’t believe there aren’t any riddles left – at Discoveryland:
8 Up, up, up and away – Mickey takes off in his very own stylish flying machine obviously influenced by Leonardo da Vinci. On his journey three friends accompany him … two of them celebrated Christmas with Mickey and Pluto once, the third comes as a surprise as you would look in Fantasyland for him. Name the three!
9 This “golden” miniature “replica” of that “thing” named after the street where Walt’s first Hollywood animation studio was housed is not part of the clock, but if it were its minute hand, what time would it tell?
10 “Formidable! Elle Roule! Elle Vole!” – it’s not the Reinastella but the
11 It should be one, but two are there – one on the left, one on the right! But that’s OK, the train is up already anyway, spinning, spinning, spinning, round in circles. What are there two of?
12 We know its length, width, weight and power source to name four of eight – what material was used for it?
13 After your journey through space she will be glad to help you with all you need to know about the … oh no, wait if I would say this, it would be too easy! So whom are we speaking of? Tell us her name – short and long!
14 Ignoring the airships of Orbitron which vehicles that could take you up into the air are "on display" if you walk around Discoveryland without entering any building?

Fantasyland

Back to the Central Plaza and then on into the heart of the magic! Here fairy tales become reality, but remember, sometimes the riddles set by fairy folks are the hardest – the Fantasyland:
15 Step in, walk through, into the world of fairy tales … or better not, if you want to answer this question. So take a minute and find your spot under the sun. Then you should see where this true magician stores his glasses when at home – a look inside it will reveal from whom he bought it - tell us!
16 Excalibur – stuff of legends, maker of kings. Where can you find it – think three times!
17 Who wouldn’t want some help with her or his laundry? Especially in a case like this! Who helps?
18 Since Arielle has joined the list of Disney Princesses everybody knows Triton too – but the King of the Seas always was a famous character of countless fairy tales and folk stories … that is also how he ended up being depicted in his “non-Disney / non-Triton-from-Arielle” look in the Disneyland Park. But where?
19 Eye to eye with a giant … which famous small fellow is treated to this spectacular experience and where?
20 Count my feet and hands before I transform myself with a final puff of smoke into a beautiful butterfly – how many are there of each?
21 4, 8, 12, … counting legs is harder than you think. So help us! Tell us how many legs are there on the attraction of “Dumbo – the Flying Elephant”, not counting those of guests or topiaries and only counting three-dimensional legs but no drawings!

Adventureland

Only the most adventurous explorers dare to step into the jungles that grow here, but their reward may be treasures untold - yours may be some answers. So pass Peter Pan’s Flight and enter the Adventureland:
22 They have looted villages uncounted and collected treasures unnumbered – gold and pearls, fine linen, books and jewels, precious plates and candlesticks, this list is endless! For a comprehensive overview a cat may help you, as it strolls around these treasures all day long carefully eyeing guests coming to close. What attracted it we don’t know, but speculating is something we can – and then we might say, that this sweet smell may have attracted it, as among all those treasure a crystal bottle of perfume can be found, which is labelled
23 More pirates – more treasures! Deep inside the Pirate’s Grotto, past the Stalagmite Maze and the Bottomless Pitt another treasure awaits discovery. Venture out to learn whose treasure we are looking for!
24 Here you find rocks formed like skulls, creating mazes, grottos, hills and lookouts - but there is one that children love and adults play with. Name it!
25 Turning high up in the air are these "characters" all time long – they top it off. Whom are we speaking of?
26 Just across the street from the camel you will find a “real” animal invading – what animal?
27 Don’t be a fool the waters here are deeper than they seem – in the worst case just scream out loud… with a bit of luck the famous adventurer who took over the place of Trader Sam for his “Outpost” will throw you a live ring – from which boat?
28 They are not the Tiki Tiki Birds, but colourful they are too, populating a huge tree – birds here and there … count them!

Frontierland

The wild west is calling! What may lay around the next riverbend? A cowboys’ camp? A ranch? A fort? An Indian village? A decaying manor? Move the frontiers to learn the answers – at Frontierland:
29 “Come One! Come All!” – but where to?
30 If it would be golden you would fly in circles high up in the sky over a Californian pier bay – but it’s not, even so it is just as “weather permitting” as the golden one. It is the
31 No need to hurry if you want to catch your friend on board the train coming from Winnemucca … it’s delayed due to
32 Shorty Long? Where can you find this fellow and why?
33 You want to settle down? Maybe refurbish the Pueblo Trading Post as a weekend home? Whom could you contact to buy your piece of property?
34 20 were granted eternal rest in 1992 after their long quest – just money was none left… thanks to their quest… A riddle in rhymes … now tell me what gang are we speaking of?
35 Dinosaurs are fascinating – so it is no surprise that guests can encounter them three times during their visit to the Disneyland Park … once really relaxed, once, if you would cross Central Plaza, in a more frantic situation and once in what you could call a playfull mood not too far from the second spotting. What are we talking about?
