 How many movies are out there celebrating Christmas? Countless - and now there is just one more ... but this time it has a special fairy tale twist: it is real and waiting for you! The Walt Disney Studios invite their guests to step right into the magic in the making, celebrate christmas among the glitter and thousands of lights as only Hollywood could add them to this festive event. The illuminated decorations already overboard the huge entrance archways and the large gate at the entrance of the studios giving a first hint of what to expect behind the turnstiles ... glitz and glamour! You will find plenty of that plus lots of glittering and over the top decorations.

On the Frontlot the tone is set for a hot christmas between the palm trees, with the fountain of Mickey as the sorcerer's apprentice wearing a crystall-adored red christmas cape and Goofy standing in for Santa Claus inside the Studio Store, which has adorned its facade with fitting art deco christmas decorations. Even the limo parked in front of the shop has been given a giant, light up bow. Who may get this special present from Santa Goofy? Even the street lights on the Frontlot have been transformed - into threedimensional christmas trees complete with glittering stars, bright red christmas bowls and twinkling lights. When the sun sets and the lights glow bright the Frontlot has a unique feeling over it, well worth saving some extra time to stroll around and give that extra special person a kiss...

But there is no need to wait for the real sunset once the guests enter Studio 1. Once they have stepped under the Santa's suspeneded from the soundstage's roof by some overreaching decorations guy they enter the eternal twilight of the sunset over the hills of the searchlight lit Hollywood which is the perfect setting for the hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights adoring the facades of the giant street set the movie crews put up here. Light bulbs cover nearly every bit of the facades and even the stars in the sky seem to shine brighter than usual. But they don't stand a chance against the colorful bright stars and lights adorning balconies, windows, street lamps, facades and basically every surface a light could have been mounted on. This truely is a wonderland right out of a christmas musical - and the Studios Brass Band is adding the fitting soundtrack.

With all that glittering and glitzening it is easy to overlook the small extra set that has been set up next to the Route 66 gas station with the icicles shimmering above it: a snow covered winter landscape in front of a distant mountain range. Here a chorus funny Santas with light-bulbs stringed ariound their heavy bodies entertains guests with seasonal classics and "the music of the Edelweiss", when the guests are not asked to join the making of the latest christmas classic of movie history.

Stepping out into the cold winter air at the other end of Studio 1 guests will only step into the next act of this christmas movie - this time starring Walt Disney and Mickey, or to be really correct: the Partner Statue depicting the two. Where countless colorfull flowers bloom around the statue in the summer, now shooting stars spring out of the ground surrounding the statue in their middle with a unique light. Definitely a must-do photo collection especially with the light up star curtain covering the large window above the entrance of Studio 1 as the background. Illuminated decorations as the core of every true Hollywood decoration can be found all over the place adorning even the food carts... there are jumping santas on motor bikes or snowmen formed entirely out of light. Nowhere in the resort there are so many lights to be found during this season letting the whole park glitzen once the sun has set. But before it is time to enjoy that specatcular sight it would be a good idea to pay visit to the Animation Courtyard.

There Mickey prepared his caravan for a vacation in the snowy mountains - but right now it still stands in the Animation Courtyard, wheren small and large fans alike can take a souvenir photo... something for the young at heart who will also love the decorations complete with christmas tree on the Production Court Yard Stage where the stars of the latest Disney movies not only give autographs but also pose for the perfect shot for next year's christmas card! After all the time out wandering through the park what about a nice meal in the Rendez-Vous des Stars Restaurant? The special treat about this cafeteria style buffet restaurant? The Sing-A-Long Santas entertain you during your lunch in the shade of a giant christmas tree in the rotunda of the building with a-capella renditions of classic american christmas melodies perfectly embodying the season's celebration in the Studios.

For a short snack the Backlot Express Restaurant would be a good alternative - here a wild mix of edgy, modern decorations and more kitschy stuff is dangling from the roof as if the decoration crew has had no time yet to get it out into the park. It is also convenient located for the next highlight of the seasonal walk around the studios: the stunt Show Moteurs, Action! This highlight of the park welcomes a very special guest during the performance proofing that Santa not always uses a sleigh but is open to new methods of transportation too, like, let's say, a trike. Sounds exciting? Then wait till you get into the action yourself in one of the parks "normal attraction" which certainly shouldn't be forgotten during the Christmas visit.

Too soon the day will be over at the studios - but that's no cause to be saddened as the magic continues with a fairy tale christmas celebration at the Disneyland Park, a traditional christmas market mixed with an American pop christmas at the Disney Village and certainly also at the seven Disney Hotels that have their own decorations...

But don't let us tell everything - there is no such thing as discovering the magic of the merriest place on earth for Christmas yourself! In the season 2004/2005 the celebrations last from the 6th of November till 9th of January for a new edition of the most enchanted season of all - and as not all details have yet been revealed guests can expect new festivities to add to the beloved classics...

 In wievielen Filmen wird Weihnachten zelebriert? In zahllosen - und nun in noch einem mehr ... aber dieses mal mit einem märchenhaften Unterschied: die Feier ist real und wartet auf Dich! Die Walt Disney Studios laden ihre Gäste ein, direkt in den Zauber in Entstehung zu treten, Weihnachten mit Glitter und Glanz, wie ihn nur Hollywood bieten kann, zu feiern. Die erleuchteten Dekorationen zieren schon die großen Eingangsbögen und das Tor der Studios und geben einen ersten Hinweis darauf, was hinter den Drehkreuzen auf den Gast wartet ...

Auf dem Frontlot wird zum heißen Weihnachtsfest zwischen Palmen geladen und selbst die Statue von Mickey als Zauberlehrling trägt einen strass-besetzten Weihnachtsmantel. Goofy feiert auch mit - er springt für den Weihnachtsmann im Studio Store ein, dessen Fassade mit Art Deco Weihnachtsschmuck verschönert wurde. Selbst die Limousine vor dem Shop hat eine gigantische, beleuchtete Schleife bekommen. Für wen hat Santa Goofy wohl dieses Geschenk reserviert? Selbst die Straßenlampen wurden in drei-dimensionale Weihnachtsbäume verwandelt, komplett mit funkelnden Sternen, roten Weihnachtskugeln und glitzernder Beleuchtung. Geht die Sonne unter und erstrahlen sie, verwandelt der Frontlot sich nochmals völlig, auf jeden Fall wert ein wenig mehr Zeit am Abend einzuplanen...

Doch mit dem Eintritt in das Studio 1 entfällt die Notwendigkeit des Wartens auf den Sonnenuntergang, denn hier herrscht das ewige Zwielicht des Sonnenuntergangs über den von gigantischen Scheinwerfern illuminierten Hügeln Hollywoods. Die perfekte Stimmung für die hundert-tausenden glitzernder Lichter, die die Fassaden des großen Straßenzuges zieren, den die Filmcrew hier errichtet hat. Nahezu jeder Zentimeter der Fassaden ist mit Lichterketten bedeckt und selbst die Sterne scheinen heller als sonst zu leuchten - nicht dass sie gegen die bunten Lichterketten und Leuchtsterne ankämen, die von den Balkonen hängen, sich um Fenster und Straßenlampen winden und auf jeder noch so kleinsten Fläche befestigt wurden. Das ist wirklich ein Wunderland wie aus einem Weihnachtsmusical - und die Studios Brass Band liefert den passenden Soundtrack.

Zwischen all dem Glitzer und Glimmer geht das kleine Filmset schnell unter, das neben der Route 66 Tankstelle errichtet wurde, von deren Vordach schimmernde Eiszapfen hängen: eine verschneite Winterlandschaft vor einer Bergkette. Hier unterhält ein Chor lustiger Weihnachtsmänner, die sich Lichterketten um ihre fülligen Körper geschlungen haben, die Gäste mit weihnachtlichen Klassikern und "der Musik des Edelweiss", wenn sie nicht gerade an der Verfilmung der neuesten Weihnachtsklassiker mitwirken.

Dann ist es aber Zeit das Studio 1 am anderen Ende zu verlassen und wieder in die kalte Winterluft zu treten und damit in den nächsten Akt dieses Weihnachtsfilms - hier mit Walt Disney und Mickey als Hauptdarsteller. Nun gut, wenn wir ehrlich sind nur die Partner Statue der beiden. Wo sonst zahllose farbenprächtige Blüten die Statue umrahmen, schießen nun Sterne samt Schweif aus dem Boden und bilden einen weihnachtlichen Rahmen. Das muss man einfach photographieren - zumal mit dem leuchtenden Sternenvorhang am Studio 1 als Hintergrund. Im gesamten Park finden sich überall weitere Leuchtskulpturen, die einfach zu Hollywood-Weihnachten dazugehören, selbst auf den Food-Carts... da gibt es mit dem Motorrad Sprünge vollführende Santas oder Schneemänner nur aus aus Licht gebaut. Nirgends sonst im Resort finden sich so viele Lichterketten, die nach Sonnuntergang den ganzen Park glitzern lassen. Doch bevor es dafür Zeit ist, wie wäre es mit einem Besuch im Animation Courtyard?

Dort hat Mickey seinen Caravan schon für die Reise in das nächste Wintersportgebiet vorbereitet - noch aber steht er im Animation Courtyard, wo große und kleine Fans ein Erinnerungsphoto machen können... genau das richtige für alle im Herz jung gebliebenen, die auch die Dekorationen samt Weihnachtsbaum auf der Production Courtyard Stage lieben werden, vor denen die Stars der neuesten Disney Hits Autogramme geben und für das perfekte Photo für die nächstjährige Weihnachtskarte posieren. Nach diesem ersten Spaziergang durch den Park, wie wäre es mit einem netten Essen im Rendez-Vous des Stars Restaurant? Das besondere an diesem Buffet-Restaurant im Cafeteria-Stil? Hier unterhalten die Sing-A-Long Santas mit a-capella Versionen klassischer amerikanischer Weihnachtsmelodien während der Gast im Schatten des Weihnachtsbaums in der Rotunde des Restaurants speist - das fängt perfekt die Stimmung in den Studios ein!

Für einen kurzen Snack bietet sich das Backlot Express Restaurant an - von seiner Decke baumelt ein wilder Mix moderner und richtig kitschiger Weihnachtsdeko, als hätten die Dekorateure noch keine Zeit gefunden, es im Park zu verteilen. Außerdem ist der Backlot Express auch ideal gelegen für den nächsten Höhepunkt dieses winterlichen Rundgangs: die Stuntshow Moteurs Action! Dieses Highlight des Parks wartet mit einem ganz besonderen Gast auf und tritt den Beweis an, dass Santa nicht nur den Schlitten benutzt, sondern auch modernen Transportmitteln gegenüber aufgeschlossen ist, wie, sagen wir, für ein Trike. Klingt aufregend? Dann warten Sie ersteinmal, bis Sie selbst Teil der Action werden bei den "normalen" Attraktionen des Parks, die auch zur Weihnachtszeit nicht verpasst werden sollten.

Zu schnell ist da der Tag schon wieder vorbei - aber das ist kein Grund zu trauern, denn der Zauber geht weiter: im Disneyland Park bei einer märchenhaften Weihnachtsfeier, im Disney Village mit der Mischung eines traditionellen Weihnachtsmarktes mit amerikanischen Pop-Weihnachten und natürlich in den sieben Disney Hotels, die alle ihre eigenen Dekorationen haben...

Aber lassen Sie uns nicht nur alles erzählen - es gibt nichts vergleichbares, wie selbst den Zauber der Weihnachtszeit zu entdecken! In der Saison 2004/2005 dauern die Feierlichkeiten vom 6. November bis 9. Januar - und auch dieses Jahr wird die wohl magischste aller Jahreszeiten neben beliebten Klassikern auch mit neuen Überraschungen aufwarten...
