It's Christmas-time again ...

 Even when you leave which ever of the two theme parks you visited the seasonal-magic has not to end - the Disney Village is celebrating Christmas on its own in the bars, shops and restaurants - in a modern, American style with bright blinking decorations all over the place - and on the streets from the main entrance all the way down to the Lake Disney with the Christmas Market featuring more than 50 classic wood huts housing international handcraft, Christmas decorations and food that invite to stroll around, drink a glass of mulled caret and maybe find the final ornament for your own Christmas tree. Or what about a short stop in front of the Central Stage? In 2003 a giant christmas calendar was sitting here and every evening one of Santa's elfs coming directly from Scandinavia is opening the latest door in a short ceremony. From the 20th to the 25th of December 2003 he got some extra help from Santa and his crew himself who star in their very own Christmas show for guests of all ages featuring a unique mixture of acrobatics, song, dance and comedy. And what could be more special then walking over the christmas market, a cup of hot wine in the hands and enjoying a Christmas Show?

Maybe bringing the show to an end with a world class show in the Disney Village Dome?! There the Village was in 2003 for the second year welcoming the dancers of Lord of the Dance as a special surprise who will entertain their guests daily with their unique mix of celtic dance, step dance and rock blended that has mesmerized millions around the globe in the recent years. But the Disneyland Resort Paris wouldn't be the resort if they would not have added some extra Disney magic. Perfect entertainment for everybody. Still not tired but done all your shopping, enjoyed a dinner in one of the excellent Village restaurants that all feature their own decorations ranging from 60s style girlands with old LPs at Annette's Diner to stylish, time-less classics in the Steak House, and taken a close look at the wooden huts in of the christmas market and the many hand craft displays from Scandinavia? Then it is time for a romantic stroll around Lake Disney and the Rio Grande to take a look at the Disney Hotels, that are shimmering in the distance already among their decorations. At the Disney Hotels the celebrations continue with special decorations as each of them not only features it's own majestic Christmas-tree towering in the lobby but unique themed decorations all over the place - the seasonal magic even continues all the way up to the guest's room, as the concierges are happy to proivde private christmas trees upon request!

A stroll around the lake leads the guests to the Disney's Hotel New York first - in front of this stylized recreation of a Manhattan skyline guests with still some extra energy left can enjoy some twists and turns on the ice-skating-rink right beneath the Christmas tree - just like at Rockefeller Center, only with a better view, here all over the Lake Disney toward Disney's Newport Bay Club with it's shillouette illuminated by hundreds of small lights. But the New York is not only the place to skate but also to enjoy a stylish drink or dinner in the halls all decorated in best traditions from Manhattan. Those who prefer it a bit more rustic should follow the path along the Rio Grande to Disney's Hotel Cheyenne which features christmas decorations in best western and cowboy style complete with horseshoe candleholders along the buildings of the western town, while the mexican flavor can't be missed just on the other side of river in Disney's Hotel Santa Fe which has twinkling strings of lights all over the place and a huge stylized christmas tree on the main plaza of the areal, a true work of art out of steel!

Following the Rio Grande back to the Lake Disney the guests gets into the tranquilent forrest of Disney's Sequoia Lodge. With the colorfull string of large light bulbs transforming the huge trees in front of the building into the largest christmas trees anywhere in the resort the theme is set properly for a true national forest christmas, that is continued in the halls of the hotel and especially in the Redwood Bar that groups the seats around the gigantic fire place that radiates just the right warmth now for a maybe not so short break from the stroll through the cold outside. The christmas decorations here just add the dot above the i to the cozy, winter atmosphere with their use of natural elements. Not so warm are the colors chosen for the decorations at the next hotel on the shores of the Lake: Disney's Newport Bay Club. Fitting the theme of a east coast hotel even the christmas decorations keep close to the nautical theme, featuring small light towers or sun-chairs on the christmas tree - creating a unique atmosphere which only a visit to the interior of the hotel can truely reveal. But with the lightbulbs strung along the outline of the building, reflecting in the calm waters of Lake Disney the hotel fits perfectly into the christmas atmosphere on the outside too.

Finally there is the Disneyland Hotel above the entrance to the Disneyland Park. The huge christmas tree in the lobby and the stylish, carefully placed decorations featuring more subtle colors and adding special accents instead of going for the huge amount make this a special place. Who does not dream of Mickey and Minnie in front of a truely luxurious christmas tree seated in a deep plush chair? Here this dream comes true several times daily - definetly worth a visit, even if you are not a guest of this top class hotel. A mixcture between the rustical western christmas from Disney's Cheyenne and the more relaxed, nature-centered christmas of Disney's Sequoia Lodge finally sets the tone at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch. Too far away from the other hotels for a stroll the decorations here are exclusively for the hotel guests who really must feel as if they retreated right into the heart of the magic to celebrate within in a small town community.

Oh and for all of you looking for some extra magic to add to the trip: the New York and the Newport Bay Club both house special Dinner Shows for the days around Christmas and New Years Eve.
In the grand ballroom of Disney's Hotel New York Mickey and other Disney characters join guests for an unique christmas dinner for the whole family and on new year's eve a DJ entertains the diners during the dinner and afterwards for a stylish dance into the year 2004 with the Time Square Dinner Party. In the same night the Gala-Dinner at Studio 1 in the Walt Disney Studios invitee guests for the first time to get into the right mood for the new year's eve fireworks in the Disneyland Park with a huge Hollywood-Orchestra.
In addition the grand ballroom of the Disney's Newport Bay Club once again hosted Tinkerbell as she is taking her guests on a trip around the world to visit the most divers cultures on a journey with song, dance and laughter while enjoing a festive dinner at the same time.

But don't let us tell everything - there is no such thing as discovering the magic of the merriest place on earth for Christmas yourself! In the season 2004/2005 the celebrations last from the 6th of November till 2nd of January for a new edition of the most enchanted season of all - and as not all details have yet been revealed guests can expect new festivities to add to the beloved classics...

 Auch wenn Sie den von Ihnen für den Tag gewählten Themenpark verlassen, muss der Weihnachtszauber nicht enden - das Disney Village feiert Weihnachten in seinen Bars, Shops und Restaurants - in modernem, amerikanischem Stil mit  großen, leuchtenden Dekorationen an den Fassaden - und auf seinen Straßen vom Haupteingang bis hinunter zum Lake Disney mit einem Weihnachtsmarkt in über 50 klassischen Holzhütten, die Kunsthandwerker, Weihnachtsschmuck und alles rund um das leibliche Wohl aus der ganzen Welt bieten. Eine verlockende Einladung mit einem Glas Glühwein in der Hand nach den letzten fehlenden Dekorationen für den eigenen Weihnachtsbaum zu suchen und vielleicht noch kurz vor der Central Stage zu verweilen. Hier fand sich 2003 ein gigantischer Adventskalender, dessen Türen jeweils am Abend in einer kleinen Zeremonie von einem Elfen geöffnet werden, der extra aus Skandinavien kommt. Vom 20. bis 25. Dezember schließlich waren sogar der Weihnachtsmann und seine Gehilfen selbst bei einer kleinen Show auf der Bühne zu erleben, die Gäste jeden Alters mit einer Mischung aus Akrobatik, Tanz, Gesang und Comedy unterhält. Überraschend und unterhaltsam - Weihnachtsstimmung mit dem gewissen extra Pepp...

Den gewissen extra Pepp bot auch die Weltklasse-Show Lord of the Dance im Disney Village Dome. Bereits das zweite Jahr in Folge unterhalten hier die Tänzer der erfolgreichen Show, die bereits Millionen rund um den Erdball begeistert hat, mit einem einmaligen Mix keltischer Musik, Step-Teps und Rock. Natürlich im Disneyland Resort Paris noch verfeinert mit einer Priese extra Disney-Zauber. Einfach perfekte Unterhaltung für jeden Gast. Noch immer zuviel Energie, aber alle Einkäufe erledigt, den Weihnachtsmarkt mit seinen Kunsthandwerkern aus Skandinavien besucht und auch schon das Dinner in einem der Disney Village Restaurants genossen, die jeweils ihre ganz eigenen Dekorationen angebracht haben, von Girlanden im 60er-Stil samt alten EPs in Annette's Diner bis hin zur zeitlos klassischen Weihnachtsstimmung im Steak House? Dann wird es Zeit für einen romantischen Spaziergang entlang den Ufern des Lake Disney und des Rio Grade, um einen Blick auf die Disney Hotels zu werfen, die schon verlockend in der Ferne in ihrem Weihnachtsglanz schimmern. Jedes der Hotels hat seine ganz eigenen Dekorationen passend zu seinem Themeing und natürlich jeweils einen riesigen Weihnachtsbaum in der Lobby. Tatsächlich reicht der Weihnachtszauber sogar bis in die Zimmer der Gäste, für die der Concierge auf Wunsch gerne einen Weihnachtsbaum organisiert.

Der Spaziergang führt den Gast zu erst zu Disney's Hotel New York. Vor der stilisierten Skyline von Manhattan wartet eine Eislaufbahn auf die sportlichsten Gäste, die sich zu Füßen des erleuchteten Weihnachtsbaumes auf dem Eis drehen wollen - ganz wie am Rockefeller Center, nur das hier der Blick über den Lake Disney zum erleuchteten Newport Bay Club viel schöner ist. Das New York ist auch das Hotel, um in seiner Bar oder einem seiner Restaurants stilvoll einen Drink oder ein edles Dinner zu genießen - natürlich auch in ansprechend dekorierten Hallen wie in Manhattan. Ein ganzes Stück rustikaler wird es, folgt der Gast dem Rio Grande zur Westernstadt von Disney's Hotel Cheyenne, in der selbst der Weihnachtsschmuck in Western- und Cowboy-Tradition steht, bis hin zu den Hufeisen-Kerzenhaltern an den Balkonen. Mexikanische Einflüsse dominieren das gegenüberliegende Ufer des Rio Grande mit Disney's Hotel Santa Fe. Hier winden sich Lichterschlangen um die Straßenlampen und ein großer, stilisierter Stahlweihnachtsbaum beleuchtet den Hauptplatz - etwas ganz besonderes.

Nunmehr führt der Weg zurück zum Lake Disney entlang des Rio Grande und damit direkt in die tiefen Wälder von Disney's Sequoia Lodge. Dank scheinbar endloser, bunter Lichterketten verwandeln sich die riesigen Bäume vor dem Hauptgebäude in die größten Weihnachtsbäume des Resorts - passend zum Nationalpark-Theme der Lodge, das sich auch in den Hallen des Hotels und besonders natürlich der Redwood Bar fortsetzt. Die Bar ist ein besonders gemütlicher Ort zu dieser Jahreszeit, gruppieren ihre tiefen, weichen Sessel und Sofas sich doch rund um einen gigantischen Kamin - ideal für eine kurze Pause nach dem Spaziergang durch die Kälte. Die Weihnachtsdekorationen mit zahlreichen natürlichen Elementen wie Tannenzapfen, setzten der warmen, heimeligen Stimmungen dann das i-Tüpfelchen auf. Weniger warm sind die Farben, die in Disney's Newport Bay Club die Dekorationen dominieren. Passend zum Ostküsten-Seebad-Theme des Hotels hat hier auch Weihnachten ein nautisches Thema, samt kleiner Miniatur-Leuchttürme und Strandstühlen an den Weihnachtsbäumen. Das schafft eine einmalige Stimmung, die unbedingt mit einem kurzen Besuch im Hotel gewürdigt werden sollte. Doch auch von Außen wirkt die riesige Anlage passend weihnachtlich, dank der Lichterketten, die die Form ihrer Fassade nachzeichnen und sich in den Wassern des Lake Disney spiegeln.

Schließlich ist da noch das Disneyland Hotel direkt über dem Eingang zu Disneyland Park. Mit zurückhaltender, aber edler Dekoration in sanften, hellen Farben, wie dem großen Weihnachtsbaum, wird ihr ein luxeriöses Weihnachtsfest zelebriert. Wer träumt nicht davon zu erleben, wie Mickey und Minnie unter dem großen Weihnachtsbaum Kinderaugen zjm Leuchten bringen, während die Eltern in den roten Plüschsesseln sitzen? Hier wird dieser Traum war - gleich mehrmals täglich - weshalb das Hotel für alle Gäste auf dem Besuchsplan stehen sollte. In der weiter entfernt gelegenen Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch schließlich sind die Feiern ganz den Hotelgästen vorbehalten, die sich hier an einer Mischung der rustikalen Dekorationen der Sequoia Lodge mit dem Western-Schmuck aus Disney's Hotel Cheyenne erfreuen können und einer ganz einmaligen Stimmung. Hier fühlen sich die Gäste, als seien sie eingeladen als Teil einer kleinen eingeschworenen Dorfgemeinschaft weit entfernt von aller Hektik mitten in der Natur zu feiern.

Oh und alle die noch mehr Zauber zu ihrem Besuch ergänzen wollen, werden rund um die Festtage im New York und im Newport Bay Club fündig, die spezielle Dinner-Shows präsentieren.
Im Ballsaal des Hotel New York erwarten Mickey und andere Disney Charaktere ihre Gäste zum Weihnachtsdinner "Disney Character Christmas Buffet" bevor ein DJ während und nach dem Dinner im Rahmen der Time Square Dinner Party an Silvester die Gäste unterhält. Alternativ zu dieser Party und den Festtagmenüs in den zahlreichen Restaurants des Resorts luden die Studios am 31. Dezember 2003 erstmals zum Gala Dinner in Studio 1 mit Hollywood-Orchester für die richtige Einstimmung auf das anschließende Neujahrsfeuerwerk im Disneyland Park.
Außerdem ludt im großen Ballsaal des Newport Bay Club Fee Glöckchen ihre Gäste wieder zu einer Reise rund um die Welt zu den unterschiedlichsten Kulturen mit Tanz, Gesang und Unterhaltung ein, während ein festliches Dinner aufgetragen wird.

Aber lassen Sie uns nicht nur alles erzählen - es gibt nichts vergleichbares, wie selbst den Zauber der Weihnachtszeit zu entdecken! In der Saison 2004/2005 dauern die Feierlichkeiten vom 6. November bis 2. Januar - und auch dieses Jahr wird die wohl magischste aller Jahreszeiten neben beliebten Klassikern auch mit neuen Überraschungen aufwarten...
