"Le Noël de Mickey" or as it's official English title is "'twas the Night before Christmas" (which is sometimes shortened to "Mickey's Christmas") takes its audience into Mickey's and Minnie's home in the night before Christmas for a musical, cartoon fantasy full of fun, singing, dancing featuring a soundtrack of upbeat christmas-classics and a lot of seasonal surprises - sure to thrill all friends of Mickey and his gang...

When the curtain rises it reveals the living room of Mickey and Minnie as taken straight out of a comic book complete with edgy cartoon-couch and printed portraits next to the fireplace. With the help of six dancing couples Mickey and Minnie, both already in their sleeping-dress, are decorating their tree, 'cause "We Need a Little Christmas" - but as it is already late at night even the anticipation of the wonders Santa Claus may bring along can't keep them awake. Falling asleep a dream starts to unravel in front of the audience: what looked like a stuffed bear's head on the wall turns out be still alive and steps through the wall, into the room where he is joined by two fellow bears presenting a not so serious Sugar Plum Fairies ballet (to the famous melodies of Tchaikovsky) complete with tu-tu and a magic wand - definetly one of the comical highlights of the show which brings warmth and laughter to all! Unfortunately their performance is cut short, as Mickey and Minnie wake up and the dream has to end.

The bears scramble for their exit - leaving a "Gone with the Dream" note behind, as Chip'n'Dale and Pluto arrive for some late night Christmas singing of all time classics like "Jingle Bells" ... but what is that, there on the couch? One of the bears forget his sugar-plum-fairy wand!
With a simple wink off we go, leaving Mickey, Minnie and their friends behind singing and dancing round the christmas tree, as we step into Toy Land, where nutracker soldiers do their routines while clown dolls pop out of the carefully wrapped boxes to twirl around in acrobatic choreographies. But what are Mickey and his gang doing while we enjoy this children's dream of toys getting alive?

Back in their house some strange noises come from the fire place - it won't be ... is it really? White long beard, black booths, red trousers and jacket, this must be Santa Claus! But these two teeths, the floppy ears ... it is Goofy who has dressed up as Santa Claus to surprise his friends with some presents!
In the meantime the action picks up outside, where Chip'n'Dale are preparing a snowball fight with Pluto, when suddenly "Frosty the Snowman" drops in and snow starts to fall for the big finale with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy out in the cold.

What could easily be dismissed as just another cute Christmas show starring Mickey and his friends, even so this already would be enough to create awe and laughter among the young guests, is perfect entertainment for guests of all ages, who will love to be transported back to the fairy tale like Christmas stories of their youth - with just enough suspense and action, but also lighthearted comedy and romance. All held together by a wonderful collection of classic and modern Christmas songs from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" to "White Christmas" or "Sleigh Ride", presented in a high-energy performance with a small but dedicated cast. While the youngest will love Mickey or giggle when Minnie kisses Santa Goofy as a Thank You, the sometimes pretentious choreographies will impress the older guests, with both elements in a perfect balance so that no part of the audience is bored at any point - but then being bored is totally impossible by this musical show that creates a lighthearted Christmas feeling that is truly infectious.
Short: a perfectly entertaining, intimiate show experience that lures the guest into the world of make believe... so dream of a Christmas with the Mouse... you will enjoy it!

"Le Noel de Mickey" bzw. "'twas the Night before Christmas" oder "Mickey's Weihnachten" nimmt das Publikum mit in das Haus von Mickey und Minnie in der letzten Nacht vor Weihnachten für eine musikalische Cartoon-Fantasie voller Spaß, Gesang und Tanz mit einem Soundtrack fröhlicher Weihnachtsklassiker und einer ganzen Menge Überraschungen, die alle Freunde von Mickey und seiner Gang garantiert begeistern...

Wenn sich der Vorhang hebt, wird das Wohnzimmer von Mickey und Minnie sichtbar, scheinbar direkt aus einem Comic-Buch mit kantiger Couch und gedruckten Portraits neben dem Kamin. Mickey und Minnie, schon im Schlafanzug, schmücken gerade mit der Hilfe von 12 Tänzern ihren Weihnachtsbaum, denn "We Need a Little Christmas" - doch zu so später Stunde kann nicht einmal die Vorfreude auf die Geschenke des Weihnachtsmannes verhindern, dass die beiden erschöpft auf dem Sofa einschlafen ... in ihrem Traum tritt der scheinbar ausgestopfte Bärenkopf aus der Wand und präsentiert gemeinsam mit zwei weiteren Bären ein nicht ganz ernsthaftes Sugar Plum Fairies Ballet (zu den bekannten Melodien Tchaikovskys) komplett mit Tu-Tu und Zauberstab - einer der komödiantischen Höhepunkte der Show. Leider aber muss ihr Auftritt abgebrochen werden, denn Mickey und Minnie wachen auf!

Bei ihrem überhasteten Aufbruch lassen die Bären noch eine "Gone with the Dream"-Notiz zurück, doch schon treffen A- und B-Hörnchen sowie Pluto ein - Zeit für ein gemeinsames Weihnachtssingen mit Klassikern wie "Jingle Bells" ... aber was ist das da auf der Couch? Einer der Bären hat seinen Sugar-Plum-Fairy-Zauberstab vergessen!
Mit nur einem Wink lassen wir Mickey und die anderen zurück und sind plötzlich im Spielzeugland, wo Nussknacker paradieren und Clown-Puppen aus den sorgsam verschnürten Geschenken hüpfen, um ihre akrobatischen Choreographien zu präsentieren. Und Mickey und seine Freunde?

Bei ihnen sind plötzlich seltsame Geräusche aus dem Kamin zu hören - es wird doch ... ist er es wirklich? Langer weißer Bart, schwarze Stiefel, rote Hose und Jacke, das muss der Weihnachtsmann sein! Aber lange Schlappohren, zei gigantische Frontzähne ... das ist Goofy in einem Weihnachtsmann-Kostüm, der seine Freunde mit Geschenken überrascht!
In der Zwischenzeit geht es aber auch draußen heiß her, wo A- und B-Hörnchen mit Pluto eine Schneeballschlacht starten, als plötzliche "Frosty der Schneemann" auftaucht - Zeit für das große Finale mit Mickey, Minnie und Goofy ... und Schneefall.

Was leicht als eine weitere kindliche Weihnachtsshow mit Mickey und seinen Freunden abgetan werden könnte, obwohl auch das schon Freude und Lachen in die Gesichter der jüngsten Gäste zaubern würden, ist perfektes Entertainment für Gäste jeden Alters, die hier in die Welt der Weihnachtsgeschichten ihrer Jugend zurückversetzt werden - mit Spannung und Überraschungen, aber auch komödiantischen und romantischen Momenten in einem perfekten Gleichgewicht. Zusammengehalten wird das ganze darüber hinaus durch eine Reihe klassischer und moderner Weihnachtssongs von "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" bis "White Christmas" und "Sleigh Ride" kraftvoll dargeboten von einem kleinen aber engagierten Cast. Während die jüngsten Gäste Mickey lieben oder kichern, wenn Minnie als Dankeschön Goofy einen Kuss gibt, werden die teilweise akrobatischen Choreographien die älteren Gäste für sich einnehmen, ohne dass ein Teil des Publikums je gelangweilt wäre. Wobei das ohnehin unmöglich wäre, versprüht diese Show doch ein einmaliges, munteres Weihnachtsgefühl, das einfach ansteckend ist.
Kurz gesagt: eine perfekt unterhaltende Show in kleinem Rahmen, die ihre Gäste in eine Traumwelt entführt ... also träumen Sie von einem Weihnachtsfest mit Mickey ... Sie werden es lieben!

The first rows in front of the stage are reserved for wheel-chair-users and small children - if Your child is old enough to sit a few meters apart from You (as parents usually won't be allowed to sit in these rows), here it has the best view onto the stage.

On busy days You should prepare to line up fourtyfive or even sixty minutes before the show starts, on normal days around thirty minutes. As Toad's Hall is only a few steps from the queue one member of Your party may fetch some drinks for the rest of You (plus there is usally a food cart only a few meters away, too).
If You are using a stroller, You will not be allowed to take it into the theatre - but You can park it in front of the theatre.

The best seats are in the middle section of the theatre in the first third of the auditorium, but the view from all other seats (and the accustic experience) is very good, too.

 The atmospheric heart of the show is its perfect score that combines a few selected classic Christmas melodies from Tchaikovsky and traditionals like "Deck the Halls" with more than ten timeless Christmas songs that flow gently into each other. Classics like "Winter Wonderland" or "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" presented in soft, pop-style chorus-renditions arranged by Jim Eskew are a sure hit with young guests as well as with the older audience who remember them in their original recordings. The whole score reflects the up-beat feeling of the show and soon the audience sings along to hits like "Happy Holiday", presenting a light hearted Christmas celebration.

The soundtrack of the show, including all instrumentals, the songs and some (minor) snippets of the spoken dialogue plus some selected few sound effect has been released by the Disneyland Resort Paris twice so far - on the CDs "Noel a Disneyland Paris / Christmas at Disneyland Paris" (edition 1996) and "Noel a Disneyland Paris" (edition 1998).
Both CDs contain the same recording running approximately 21 minutes, which offer a complete picture of the musical part of the show - as this is the original playback used at the Fantasy Festival Stage. The few dialogue snippets and sound effects recreate the atmosphere of the live show without disturbing the flow of the music, which is the central point of the CD-release, thereby even enhancing the overall impression. Unfortunately both CDs are out of stock. But at least the song "We Need a Little Christmas" (falsely labeled as traditional even so it has been written by Jerry Herman for the Broadway musical "Mame") had been reissued on the CD "10 - L'Album Anniversaire", which sold out in the meantime too.

Having premiered at the Fantasy Festival Stage in the very first Christmas-season of Disneyland Paris, 1992/93, till 2001 this was one of only two shows at the Disneyland Park from the opening season that were still running, but as the other show, "The Sword in the Stone" aka "Merlin l'Enchanteur", quietly faded away with the end of the summer season 2001 it is now the only show from the opening year still playing... But then it is also one of the most beloved christmas favorites for guests of all ages.
