The magic of firework displays enchants guests of all ages since the very first day of Disneyland Paris but for Tinkerbell's Fireworks display some extra pixie dust has been sprinkled on top of it...

It all starts with a star flying around the castle, turning to the gates of the Adventureland Bazaar before heading over to Fantasyland where the secret behind the star is revealed as it is noone else but Tinkerbell, the little fairy from the animated classic Peter Pan, herself!
With a few gentle strokes of her wings she lifts herself up, across the guests all the way to the highest turret, where she sprinkels here pixie dust that showers the castle in thousands of little lights in which she disappears.

But the same moment Tinkerbell disappears a last time waving to the guests below the music picks up and the fireworks start for real above the illuminated castle changing its colors in sync with the music and thereby emphasizing the changing moods of the spectacular. Around, above an even on this unique structure fountains of light grow and dance to the music, showers of stars underline the most romantic segments and multi-colored rockets illuminate all sky in the most dramatic moments - and the castle which is integrated into the show perfectly thanks to a colorfull illumination.

What makes this fireworks display outstanding is not only the setting of the castle but the close relationship between the astonishing firework effects and the symphonic score based on the music from the animated classic Peter Pan providing not only a rousing energetic backdrop but hummable melodies and catchy themes with a heart - music with its own distinguished character that is mirrored and proliferated in the sky, where the fireworks react to the music but also seem to trigger reactions from it. The fireworks seem to dance and take the guest from the fireplace of the Indians with the beating drums and the dark red colors that are shooting upwards with each beat, to the lagoon of the mermaids with their gentle, playfull sounds and even further toward the second star to the right that shines as bright as none other in a finale of exploding colors.

Just don't believe this is the true finale, because at Disney there is always that extra bit of magic more ... in 2004 the Disneyland Paris welcomes the Lion King as star of his own show The Legend of the Lion King. To celebrate this newest addition and honor the king a special Cebration Medley of the most famous songs from animated classic is forming a rousing finale for the fireworks display that brings the intensity, the heat, the fire and the emotions of Africa to the heart of the park and just catches the guests - as Scar already announces "It is Time"...

This oportunity not only to see an outstanding fireworks display but to feel the emotional impact of a journey into a fantastical world evoked by music and fireworks in a pure Disney-creation should not be missed and is sure to shower some pixie dust on the last minutes of your magical day at the Disneyland Park.

Alles beginnt mit einem Star der rund um das Schloss fliegt, dann zu den Toren des Adventureland Bazaars rast, bevor über dem Fantasyland schließlich das Geheimnis gelüftet wird: denn dieser kleine Stern ist niemand anderes als Fee Glöckchen aus dem Klassiker Peter Pan!
Mit einigen eleganten Schlägen ihrer Flügel hebt sie sich über die Gäste bis zum höchsten Turm, wo sie ihren Feenstaub verteilt, der das gesamte Schloss in ein Meer glitzernder Lichter taucht, in dem sie verschwindet.

In dem selben Moment jedoch, in dem Fee Glöckchen mit einem letzten Gruß an die Gäste verschwindet, beginnt das eigentliche Feuerwerk über dem illuminierten Schloss, das mit dem Fluss der Musik seine Farben wechselt und die sich wandelnden Stimmungen des Spektakels unterstreicht. Rund um, über aber auch auf diesem einmaligen Bauwerk wachsen und tanzen Fontainen aus Licht, Sternenschauer untermalen die romantischsten Partien und vielfarbige Raketen erleuchten den Himmel in den dramatischsten Momenten - und das Schloss das perfekt in die Show integriert ist dank einer farbenprächtigen Illumination.

So herausragend wird dieses Feuerwerk aber nicht nur durch den fantastischen Hintergrund des Schlosses, sondern besonders durch die enge Verbindung der beeindruckenden Feuerwerkseffekte und der symphonischen Musik basierend auf dem Soundtrack des Zeichentrick-Klassikers Peter Pan, die nicht nur einen kraftvollen kaum gebändigten Hintergrund liefert, sondern Melodien zum mitsummen und eingängige Themen mit Herz - eben Musik mit einem eigenen ausgeprägten Charakter der im Himmel widergespiegelt und fortgeführt wird, wo das Feuerwerk auf die Musik zu reagieren scheint, diese aber selbst auch voranzutreiben scheint. Glauben Sie jetzt aber nicht, das wäre schon das Ende, denn Disney geht immer noch einen Schritt weiter ... 2004 begrüßt das Disneyland Paris den König der Löwen als Start seiner eigenen Show The Legend of the Lion King. Um diese neueste Attraktion zu feiern und den König zu ehren, bildet ein spezielles Celebration Medley der berühmtesten Songs aus dem Zeichentrickklassiker das aufregende Finale des Feuerwerks. Hier wird die Leidenschaft, die Hitze, das Feuer und die Emotionen Afrikas in das Herz des Parks gebracht und packt die Gäste - wie Scar schon ankündigt "Es ist Zeit"...

Hier wird nicht nur die Chance geboten, ein herausragendes Feuerwerk zu erleben, sondern eine emotionale Reise in eine phantastische Welt geschaffen durch Musik und Feuerwerk anzutreten - eine einmalige Disney-Kreation, die man auf keinen Fall verpassen sollte und die mit Sicherheit auch über die letzten Minuten ihres magischen Tages im Disneyland Park eine Prise Feenstaub verstäubt.

 The perfect viewing spot for the fireworks display is the Central Plaza as only from here (and some of the surrounding walkways) you can see Tinkerbell fly from Fantasyland, past the Castle Stage toward the highest turret of the Castle. Be sure to check wether any trees may block your view of this magical sight.
To avoid other guests standing right in front of you and blocking your view partially, try to head for the circular bed of plants in the center of the Plaza and position yourself to have the bed between you and the castle. But even if this spot is already taken, the Central Plaza still has plenty of space left, just walk around and look for a place you feel comfortable in - and don't forget: the fireworks takes place above the castle in the sky, so with just a little bit of room between you and the guest in front of you get a good view of the action.
If you are willing to give up on the flying Tinkerbell all of the Main Street is offering a good view too, if you step toward the middle of the street - just as the little gazebo in the center of the Town Square or the Panorama Gallery of the Main Street Railroad Station, both of which offer an elevated view over the crowds toward the castle.
Thanks to smaller crowds a spot worth mentioning is the entrance to Discoveryland - guests standing here will even get a good view of the last meters of Tinkerbell's flight to the Castle.

Just 45 minutes before Tinkerbell illuminates the sky the Main Street, Central Plaza and the main walkway of Fantasyland become the stage for Disney's Fantillusion, so crowds are forming early in advance of the parade along the Main Street and the Central Plaza and stay in place for the fireworks display, only stepping onto the street for a better view as soon as the parade has passed. Plenty of guests who watch the parade on Town Square or along the Main Street follow the last float toward the Central Plaza and join the guests already waiting there. In addition guests watching the parade in Fantasyland will move toward Central Plaza too.
So to get the best possible spot to watch the fireworks from Central Plaza either position yourself there in time for Fantillusion or watch the parade on Town Square, head for the Discovery Arcade as soon as the last float has passed you and find your place on Central Plaza. This way you overtake the parade which will still be running on the Main Street and most of the guests who follow it. Even the guests on Central Plaza will still be standing along the street to get the best view of the floats, while you can take the spot with the perfect view of the castle.

There are no special viewing areas reserved for disabled guests so it is recommended to take up a place at the centre of the Central Plaza for Disney's Fantillusion already.

 Tinkerbell's Fireworks in the summer 2004 were supposed to be the last year of Tinkerbell's Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks - so as no contradicting announcements were made were expected to be identical to the show's version presented in 2003. But surprisingly the show underwent some major changes.

The last 60 seconds of the fireworks score featured a rousing reprise after a first finale bringing back some of the central musical cues of the score inviting guests to clap along. But in 2004 this part has been replaced by the roughly 90 seconds of a Lion King medley including vocals taken from the original soundtrack CD of "The Legend of the Lion King" (EDDA026-2) introduced by Scar himself.
While there is no connection between the two elements of the fireworks display the show still works perfectly due to the Lion King segment being positioned as a special extra after the (first) "finale" from the original score. Also the Lion King segment allows for a totally different atmosphere and color scheme presented in an all new fireworks choreography. Unfortunately the firework effects on the castle itself, only added in 2003 are no longer included, as they were used during the "reprise".

The remainder of the fireworks display is identical to the earlier version from 2003. It is set to its own score consisting of a short theme for Tinkerbell's flight by Vasile Sirli followed by a unique suite based on the best known musical themes from the songs and score of Disney's animated feature Peter Pan including "Never Smile at a Crocodile", which was cut as a song but remained in the soundtrack as the instrumental theme of Captain Hook and today is known as the most famous song ever cut from an animated Disney movie. The symphonic score, especially recorded for the display, creates a very dynamic background but still stays true to it's original source in a way that allows the Peter-Pan-fan to relive the most beautiful moments again in a musical way while the guest without this special dedication still is treated to an thrilling musical experience.

The soundtrack of the original display (so with the reprise and NOT with the Lion King Medley) with the exception of the announcements is available on the CD-singled "Disney's Fantillusion Parade / La Parade Disney Fantillusion" (EDDA021-2) and "The Music of the Main Street Electrical Parade / La Musique de la Parade Electrique" (EDDA014-2), the CD "Une Jounree a Disneyland Paris" (EDDA010-2) and the CD "L'Album Anniversaire - 10 Disneyland Paris" (EDDA018-2). Listening to it without the fireworks it does not only bring back the memories of this magical moment but also shows once more that the suite is a musical masterpiece offering a new, wonderful look at this classical material.

Die letzten 60 Sekunden der musikalischen Untermalung boten bisher eine Reprise der zentralen musikalischen Themen zum Mitklatschen. An ihrer Stelle findet sich nun ein ca. 90 Sekunden langes König der Löwen Medley mit Gesang aus dem Original Soundtrack der Show "The Legend of the Lion King" (EDDA026-2), angekündigt von Scar persönlich.
Zwar besteht keinerlei Verbindung zwischen den zwei Teilen des Feuerwerks, doch funktioniert die Show dennoch perfekt, das sich das König der Löwen Segment wie ein Extra oder Bonus nach dem (ersten) "Finale" der ursprünglichen Show einreiht. Außerdem erlaubt das neue musikalische Thema auch die Erschaffung einer völlig neuen Atmosphäre mit anderen Farben und einer neuen Feuerwerkschoreographie. Leider sind dem aber die Feuerwerkseffekte auf dem Schloss selbst zum Opfer gefallen, die 2003 werden der Reprise zu sehen waren.

Das übrige Feuerwerk ist gegenüber 2003 unverändert und wird von seinem eigenen Soundtrack begleitet, der aus einem kurzen Thema für den Flug von Glöckchen komponiert von Vasile Sirli und im folgenden einer neuen Suite aus den musikalischen Themen und Songs von Disney's Peter Pan besteht. Dazu zählt auch "Never Smile at a Crocodile", das als Song aus dem Film gestrichen wurde, aber als Instrumentalthema für Kapitän Hook verblieb und heute wohl der bekannteste gestrichene Song aus einem Disney Film ist. Der symphonische Score, speziell aufgenommen, liefert einen dynamischen Hintergrund, bleibt dabei aber immer seinem Ursprung treu, so dass einerseits der Peter-Pan-Liebhaber hier die schönsten Momente musikalisch erneut erleben kann, die Suite aber auch ohne diesen besonderen Hintergrund ein mitreißendes Erlebnis darstellt.

Der gesamte Soundtrack des ursprünglichen Feuerwerks (d.h. mit der Reprise und OHNE das König der Löwen Medley) mit Ausnahme der Ansagen ist auf den Singles "Disney's Fantillusion Parade / La Parade Disney Fantillusion" (EDDA021-2) und "The Music of the Main Street Electrical Parade / La Musique de la Parade Electrique" (EDDA014-2), der CD "Une Jounree a Disneyland Paris" (EDDA010-2) und der CD "L'Album Anniversaire - 10 Disneyland Paris" (EDDA018-2) erhältlich. Der Genuss zu Hause bringt nicht nur die Erinnerung an das zauberhafte Erlebnis zurück, sondern zeigt auch einmal mehr, dass die Suite ein musikalisches Glanzstück ist, das einen neuen, wunderbaren Blick auf das klassische Material bietet.
