 It is not the March Hare from the Disney's Alice in Wonderland, nor his distant, white relative from the same classic who was always running late, neither is it Brer Rabbit, Roger Rabbit or Thumper, to name the most famous of the Disney rabbits ... but there is a whole flog of rabbits that have invaded the Disneyland Park for the Easter Celebrations.

The fresh green and the lush colors of the first flowers already add a special touch to the Disneyland Park that shines in the new colors of spring, but for three weeks the easter bunnies have added their very own special decorations. The center piece is certainly the gigantic easter egg on Town Sqaure. It is adored with a huge purple ribbon with golden mickey shapes printed on. Even some of the easter bunnies got so curious to learn what was under the glitzening golden cover of the egg, that they have ripped it off ... and revealed countless plushs of Thumper, the famous rabbit from Bambi!! They are so cute, even the easter bunnies would love to get one and sit more or less patiently right in front of it. Some of their colleagues have reworked the planters around Town Square in the meantime and gave them a special easter treatment too with egg and bell shapes popping up over and over again.

This Easter dream is also the location for performances of the Dixie Band throughout the day and the Victorian Dancers. Spring time is the time for big feelings too. And these young girls in their best Sunday clothes are trying their best to show off in front of their boy friends in their neat suits as they dance around Town Square. A performance right out of a picture book with the Easter decorations and the turn of the century Main Street in the background that comes alive with the Victorian Dancers as in one of these old fashioned, but always entertaining movie musical extravaganzas.

But there are not only decorations and performances to look at - as this celebration is especially a treat for younger guests there is a lot to discover too. So don't wait to long and follow the rabbit before it is too late... Maybe to the hunt for the giant easter eggs that takes over the Pocahontas Indian Village four times per day?? And the best: the chocolade eggs are certainly to keep and eat for the young ones on the trail of the easter bunnies!! At the first hunt of the day there is even a special price for the child, who finds the golden egg: he or she is invited to join the Princess' Parade as guest of honor. Certainly there are a lot of chocolate eggs too.

If your child not find enough eggs to satisfy his appetite for chocolade, why not visit the former Pueblo Trading Post right next to the playground? It has been transformed into Easter's Big Dipper Atelier Chocolate. There the younges can try their hands to create delicous sweet pieces of art made out of nothing but chocolade ... and it does not have to be egg shaped all the time. The true masters of this art present some of their work too, including the famous Partner Statue, Mickey as the sorcerer's apprentice or Tinkerbell made out of nothing but chocolate. These pieces of art and the sweets on sale here are well worth a visit even for guests without children. For the latter three more workshops have opened in tents next to the Country Cookout Barbecue. Under the roofs adored by colorfull eggs, hens and even more rabbits showcasing their work done inside the tents, young guests can try their hand in several arts...

There is the Easter Egg Painting Class where for once the eggs are not consumated but transformed into true works of art by adding classical paintings as it is tradition especially in the eastern countries of Europe for centuries already. Right next door rabbits and young guests can both learn how to create animals, plants and much, much more out of nothing but small pieces of paper as the Japanese tradition of Origami is presented as Easter Origami. Once again next door in the Arts & Crafts tent children can learn how to add that special touch to little bags perfect to carry your easter treasure in or to give as an easter present to someone dear.

After all this work it is time for some entertainment - certainly in Easter style. The music of easter and spring comes alive several times daily thanks to the art of a trained bell player and the bells of Le Carilloneur, the musical bell ensemble "Queen Fabiola" named for the monarch of Belgium - an entertaining and enchanting acustical performance not only for those exhausted by participating in all the workshops. Just don't forget that there is plenty more to discovery for guests of all ages in the Disneyland Park besides the extras for the Easter season...

In 2004 the Disneyland Resort Paris for the first time celebrates Easter with a special festival style event in the Disneyland Park, lasting from the 3rd till 25th of April. The easter egg hunt starts daily at 10.00 am, 2.00, 4.00 and 6.00 pm in the Pocahontas Indian Village. All for workshops in the easter tents next to the Country Cookout Barbecue and in the former Pueblo Trading Post are open daily from 10.00 till 6.00 pm. Le Carilloneur performs several times daily next to the Pocahontas Indian Village, just as the Dixie Band on Town Square. The Victorian Dancers in the same location perform ten times daily between 9.45 am and 2.45 pm.
The Disney Village joins in on the celebrations on the actual Easter weekend with some small events as e.g. an easter egg give away to the younges guests - so don't be late ... follow the white rabbit and Alice!

 

Das frische Grün und die prächtigen Farben der ersten Blüten verleihen dem Park ohnehin schon ein besonderes Flair, doch für drei Wochen haben die Osterhasen noch ihre ganz eigenen Dekorationen ergänzt. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei ein riesiges Osterei samt lila Schleife mit goldenen Mickey-Köpfen auf dem Town Square. Selbst einige der Hasen konnten ihre Neugier, was wohl in diesem Ei ist, nicht mehr zügeln und haben die glänzende Goldene Hülle heruntergerissen ... und damit die unzähligen Plüschversionen von Klopfer aus Bambi enthüllt, die darin verborgen waren!! Die sind so niedlich, dass selbst die Osterhasen gerne einen hätten und jetzt geduldig vor dem Ei warten, während einige ihrer Kollegen die Bepflanzung des Platzes mit einem besonderen Oster-Touch aufgebessert haben, der immer wieder die Ei- und Glocken-Form aufgreift.

Dieser Oster-Traum ist auch die Kulissen für die regelmäßigen Auftritte der Dixie Band und der Viktorianischen Tänzer. Frühlingszeit ist auch die Zeit für große Gefühle. Entsprechend bemühen sich die jungen Damen in ihrem feinsten Hofstaat auch eine perfekte Figur vor ihren Liebsten zu machen, die im edlen Zwirn erschienen sind, um gemeinsam mit ihnen rund um den Town Square zu tanzen. Eine Vorstellung wie direkt aus einem Bilderbuch mit den Oster-Dekorationen und natürlich der Main Street aus der Jahrhundertwende im Hintergrund. Die viktorianischen Tänzer erwecken dieses Bild zu neuem Leben, wie in einer klassischen Film-Musical-Extravaganz.

Aber zu Ostern gibt es nicht nur Dekorationen und Vorstellungen, die es zu bewundern gilt - da sich diese Feierlichkeiten besonders an die jüngsten richten, gibt es auch eine Menge zu entdecken. Also, nicht zu lange warten - folgt dem weißen Hasen ... vielleicht zur Ostereier-Suche, die vier mal täglich in Pocahontas Indian Village startet?? Und das beste: natürlich dürfen die jungen Gäste die Schokoladeneier, die sie auf der Fährte der Osterhasen finden, auch behalten!! Bei der ersten Ostereisuche des Tages gibt es für die Jüngsten übrigens noch eine ganze besondere Überraschung: wer das goldene Ei findet, wird eingeladen, bei der Princess' Parade als Ehrengast mitzufahren! Natürlich gibt es auch jede Menge Schokoladeneier.

Sollte ein Kind dabei nicht erfolgreich genug sein, gibt es noch mehr Schokolade im ehemaligen Pueblo Trading Post direkt neben dem Spielplatz. Hier findet sich Easter's Big Dipper Atelier Chocolate, in dem die Jüngsten sich einmal daran versuchen können, kleine, zum vernaschen süße Kunstwerke aus Schokolade zu erschaffen ... und die müssen nicht einmal Eierform haben. Die Meister dieser Kunst zeigen hier auch einige ihrer Werke, wie die berühmte Partner Statue, Mickey als Zauberlehrling oder Tinkerbell erschaffen komplett aus Schokolade. Diese Kunstwerke, ganz zu schweigen von der hier zu erwerbenden Pralinen, machen einen Besuch auch ohne Kinder auf jeden Fall lohnenswert. Für die Kinder gibt es außerdem noch drei weitere Workshops, die sich direkt neben dem Country Cookout Barbecue finden. Unter den lustig im Oster-Stil dekorierten Zeltdächern, auf denen Osterhasen den Weg zu den einzelnen Workshops weisen, kann man sich hier in diversen Künsten probieren...

Da wäre die Ostereier Malschule, in der die Eier einmal nicht vernascht, sondern verziert werden, so wie es vor allem in Osteuropa seit Jahrhunderten Brauch ist. Direkt daneben lernt man, wie aus nichts außer Papier Hasen, Tiere, Pflanzen und vieles mehr entstehen kann - Dank der japanischen Tradition des Origami, das sich hier als Oster Origami präsentiert. Noch ein Zelt weiter werden Taschen verziert, die ideal sind um die Osterfunde zu transportieren oder um ein Geschenk darin zu verpacken.

Nach all dieser Arbeit ist aber natürlich auch wieder etwas Entspannung angesagt - mit Oster-Unterhaltung: Le Carilloneur. Auf dem Glockenspiel "Königing Fabiola", benannt nach der belgischen Monarchin, wird regelmäßig die Musik des Festes und des Frühlings zu neuem Leben erweckt - dank einer erfahrenen Glockenspielerin. Eine verzaubernde akkustische Darbietung nicht nur für die Jüngsten. Allerdings sollte man nicht vergessen: neben den besonderen Osteraktivitäten hat der Park auch sonst noch eine Menge zu bieten...

2004 feiert das Disneyland Resort Paris erstmals Ostern mit einem Festival im Disneyland Park, das vom 3. bis 25. April dauert. Die Ostereisuche im Pocahontas Indian Village findet dabei täglich um 10.00, 14.00, 16.00 und 18.00 Uhr statt, während die Workshops in unmittelbarer Umgebung von 10.00 bis 18.00 Uhr geöffnet haben. Le Carilloneur präsentiert seine Darbietung am Pocahontas Indian Village ebenso wie die Dixie Band auf dem Town Square regelmäßig während des ganzen Tages. Am selben Ort verzaubern die Viktorianischen Tänzer zehn mal täglich die Gäste zwischen 9.45 und 14.45 Uhr.
Am eigentlichen Osterwochenende bietet auch das Disney Village einige kleine Events, wie die Verteilung von Ostereiern an die jüngsten Gäste - also kommen Sie nicht zu spät ... folgen Sie dem weißen Hasen und Alice!
