 The final moment of each day of the Lion King Carnival is Simba's FiROARworks that is bringing the warm, vibrant colors of the African savannah to the Disneyland Park glitzening under the dark night sky. While Pride Rock and the animals around it are cast in a revealing twilight the large red sun rises behind it on the castle thanks to projections. This is the wake-up-call for the savannah and suddenly the Circle of Life erupts...

Which means the famous song Circle of Life in a powerfull, choral rendition rising higher and higher and the circle of life in the sky recreated by multicolored fireworks snychronized to the moving anthem of the animated classic. With Pride Rock constantly illuminated in low key it does not detract from the display in the sky above it but doubles as a fitting foreground, creating the feeling of enjoying a fireworks display in the width of the (unusually cold) savannah to celebrate the arrival of the new king - who brings the show synchronizing the projection on the castle with young Simba's footprints and the patterns of different abnimals, the rousing music and the fireworks display to a true finale with a deafening roar that is mirrored by explosions in the sky casting a light as bright as the day.

Certainly not the longest, most elaborate or most stunning fireworks display Simba's FiROARworks still present a fitting highlight for a day during the Lion King Carnival transporting the atmosphere of the animated classic perfectly. With its colors and the rousing music that lends itself for fireworks synchronized perfectly it sure is a great way for most guests to bring a day to an end they will not forget - especially when the mighty roar brings everything to an outstanding finale. Also the moving projections on the castle let it appear in a whole new light... So: don't leave the savannah to early, this is worth staying a bit longer! 

 Den Schlusspunkt jeden Tages während des Lion King Carnival setzt Simba's FeuAAARRRHwerk, das die warmen, leuchten Farben der afrikanischen Savanne in den unter dem dunklen Nachthimmel glitzernden Disneyland Park bringt. Während der Königsfelsen und die ihn umringenden Tiere noch in Zwielicht getaucht sind, geht hinter ihm die Sonne in einem riesigen roten Feuerball auf, dank Projektionen auf dem Schloss. Das ist der Weckruf für die Savanne und schon erwacht der Ewige Kreis...

Gemeint ist damit sowohl der berühmte Song Circle of Life in einer kraftvollen, aufstrebenden Chor-Version als auch ein ewiger Kreis der Lichter im Himmel - das vielfarbige Feuerwerk zur bewegenden Hymne des Klassikers. Mit einem durchgehend sanft illuminierten Königsfelsen als perfektem Vordergrund kann der Gast sich so in die (ungewöhnlich kalte) Savanne versetzt fühlen, in der als Teil der Feiern zur Begrüßung des neuen Königs das Feuerwerk erscheint. Der König bringt dann die Show mit ihrem synchronisierten Elementen der Projektionen von Simba's Fußabdrücken und afrikanischen Mustern, der Musik und des Feuerwerks mit einem ohrenbetäubenden Gebrüll zu einem fulminanten Schlusspunkt, bei dem der Himmel förmlich explodiert und taghell erleuchtet ist.

Sicherlich ist Simba's FeuAAARRRHwerk nicht das längste, aufwendigste oder beeindruckendste Feuerwerk, doch ist es dennoch ein passender Höhepunkt für die Tage des Lion King Carnival, das die Atmosphäre des Films perfekt transportiert. Mit seinen Farben und der aufregenden Musik, die sich einfach für ein Feuerwerk anbietet und perfekt synchronisiert abläuft, ist es sicherlich ein ideal weg für viele Gäste, um einen unvergesslichen Tag endgültig abzuschließen - besonders dank dem großen Finale mit Gebrüll. Dass die Projektionen das Schloss in einem völlig neuen Licht erscheinen lassen, wird auch so manchen Gast überraschen... Also: auf keinen Fall die Savanne zu früh verlassen, es lohnt sich dabei zu bleiben!

 Deciding for the perfect viewing spot for this fireworks display is really difficult. On one hand the lower end of the Central Plaza where it devolves into the Main Street and some of the surrounding walkways seems ideal, if you make sure that none of the trees blocks your view of the castle or Pride Rock, as the illuminated Pride Rock also adds heavily to the atmosphere and experience. On the other hand the projections on the castle can only be really enjoyed if standing between Pride Rock and the castle. And as these projections are an important part of the atmosphere this should be considered, too, especially as the fireworks look more impressive if seen a bit closer...

If your prefered spot is already taken, the Central Plaza still has plenty of space left, just walk around and look for a place you feel comfortable in - and don't forget: the fireworks takes place above the castle in the sky, so with just a little bit of room between you and the guest in front of you get a good view of the action.
The center of the Main Street offers an acceptable view of Pride Rock and the castle behind it too, but with each step toward the Main Street Railroad Station more of the sky to the sides of the castle is blocked from the view which might cut off some of the fireworks depending on the wind conditions. Also due to the scope of the fireworks display guests shouldn't stray too far down Main Street. Therefor this area can't be recommended. The Panorama Gallery of the Main Street Railroad Station, offers an elevated view over the crowds onto Pride Rock and the castle but is quiet far away from the action.
Thanks to smaller crowds a spot worth mentioning is the entrance to Discoveryland.

Just fourtyfive minutes before the sky above the castle is illuminated the Main Street, Central Plaza and the main walkway of Fantasyland become the stage for Disney's Fantillusion, so crowds are forming early in advance of the parade along the Main Street and the Central Plaza and stay in place for the fireworks display, only stepping onto the street for a better view as soon as the parade has passed. Plenty of guests who watch the parade on Town Square or along the Main Street follow the last float toward the Central Plaza and join the guests already waiting there. In addition guests watching the parade in Fantasyland will move toward Central Plaza too.
So to get the best possible spot to watch the fireworks from Central Plaza either position yourself there in time for Fantillusion or watch the parade on Town Square, head for the Discovery Arcade as soon as the last float has passed you and find your place on Central Plaza. This way you overtake the parade which will still be running on the Main Street and most of the guests who follow it. Even the guests on Central Plaza will still be standing along the street to get the best view of the floats, while you can take the spot with the perfect view for the fireworks.

There are no special viewing areas reserved for disabled guests so it is recommended to take up a place on Central Plaza for Disney's Fantillusion already.

Für behinderte Gäste sind keine speziellen Zuschauerbereiche reserviert, daher ist es zu empfehlen, schon vor Disney's Fantillusion einen Platz an der Central Plaza aufzusuchen.

 The score of the fireworks display consists of only one song - Circle of Life, the "anthem" of Disney's Lion King that ends with a deafening roar of the king himself, echoing all over Central Plaza. While perfect for a fireworks display the score obviously does not retell really the story of the animated classic. It is interpreted in its English version by an - unfortunately - not african chorus, who lacks a bit of atmosphere.

Last but not least for the archives: for the last FiROARworks on the night of March 7th, 2004, some extra shells were added to send a fittingly royal goodbye to the cast of the month-long Carnival.

Zu guter letzt noch etwas für das Archiv: für das letzte FeuAAARRRHwerk wurden noch einige Extra-Raketen ergänzt, um dem Cast des einmonatigen Karnevals einen königlichen Abschied zu gewähren.
