  The space in front of the Central Stage is standing room only - to guarantee you a good view don't get too close to the stage (especially if children are in your party), as that one is placed pretty high which allows for a good view even from quiet a distance - but don't get too far to the rear as guests not interested in the show are passing through the crowds there.
As the stage and the audience area are outside wear warm clothes (it can get quiet windy) or stock up with some mulled claret from the Christmas Market. As a temporary tent roof is erected above the audience area (and a glass roof is above the stage) there are no problems with snowfall or rain, if you make sure not to stand too near to the side of the crowd.

There are two performances daily but only the second show after the closure of the themeparks, so to make most of your day in the parks, schedule the later one.

Right after the show the cast will accompany Santa Claus on a sleigh ride to the Lake Disney, where he will pose for photos - the so called Disney Village Christmas Parade.

  The show was presented only 10 times in 2001 - twice daily from the 21st to the 25th of December, even so its predecessor the "Father Christmas Show" in 2000, which was limited to a similar short run, was met with a very positive response of the audience. A success the new show in 2001 was able to repeat, when it managed to pull in not only the guests of the Disneyland Park, but also the local crowds who came to the Disney Village to go to the movies or the night club.

"A Gift for Father Christmas" was heavily based on the "Father Christmas Show" from 2000. Both have an identical concept - the combination of classic christmas songs with upbeat songs in a fariy tale like story with some acrobatics - but the story lines are obviously totally different, even so the cast of characters is nearly identical and the actual cast of actors is in fact identical, just as the main sets on the stage.
This invites a direct comparison of the two shows in which the musical mix of the new "A Gift for Father Christmas"-show is loosing out against the original production, which had a more balanced mix of classic carolls and upbeat titles - an effect partially created by introduction of non-christmas songs in 2001. As far as the story is concerned both shows are up to one level with really unique story lines. The original story about Santa Claus missing is more classical, while the 2001-version involving a robot as a gift steps away from the historic fairy tale motive and instead tries (sucessfully) to create a more up to date look and feel. One last difference is the integration of the juggling act which was more succesful realized in 2001 when it was really moving the story forward as it symbolized the act of putting the finishing touch to the robot while in 2000 the completition of the snowman was basically not connected to the main story at all.

By the way: those who want to see more of the juggling Snow Fairy can catch her also as a juggling cowgirl in the preshow of the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and occasionally in Billy Bob's Country & Western Saloon.

"A Gift for Father Christmas" basiert auf der "Father Christmas Show" aus dem Jahre 2000. Beide haben ein identisches Konzept - die Kombination klassischer Weihnachtssongs mit moderneren, schwungvollen Titeln verpackt in einer märchenhaften Geschichte mit Akrobatikeinlagen - verfügen jedoch über völlig unterschiedliche Handlungen, obwohl die Figuren und ihre Darsteller ebenso wie Kulisse identisch sind.
Das lädt natürlich zu einem direkten Vergleich der beiden Shows ein, bei dem der musikalische Mix der "A Gift for Father Christmas"-Show gegenüber dem Original abfällt, das Carolls und moderne Songs besser ausbalanciert hatte - ein Effekt der teilweise durch die Einfügung von nicht weihnachtlichen Songs 2001 hervorgerufen wurde. Soweit es die Handlung betrifft, stehen sich beide Produktionen mit kurzweiligen, völlig neuen Geschichten auf gleicher Ebene gegenüber. Während die Suche nach dem vermissten Weihnachtsmann allerdings zeitlos klassisch wirkt, machte man 2001 den erfolgreichen Version eine weniger märchenhafte Handlung mit modernerem Feeling zu präsentieren. Ein letzter qualitativer Unterschied ist noch die Integration der Jonglage-Einlage - diese gelang 2001 deutlich besser. War der Aufbau des Schneemannes 2000 noch völlig unabhängig von der eigentlichen Handlung, bringt sie 2001 als Reparatur des Roboters die Haupthandlung voran.

Übrigens: wer mehr von der jonglierenden Schneefee sehen möchte, kann sie als jonglierendes Cowgirl in der Preshow der Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show und gelegentlich in Billy Bob's Country & Western Saloon erleben.

Just shortly after the performance Santa Claus is boarding a sleigh next to the Central Stage to head the Disney Village Christmas Parade.

The small but decorated sleigh is drawn by a horse through the Disney Village while Santa Claus is greeting the guests and especially the children with a warm smile. He is followed by the elfes and carollers from the show. So basically this is not a true parade, even so seasonal christmas music is played for it, but a public exit of the show's cast. While teenagers and most adults will more or less ignore the small parade especially younger children cherish every opportunity to see Santa Claus especially if sitting in an authentic sleigh - taking a photo of your child with Santa Claus at the end of the parade may very well be the finishing star of your visit to the Disney Village for your child.

The parade is running from the Central Stage directly toward the Lake Disney where it stops in front of the Christmas Trees and guests can take photos with Santa Claus before the parade leaves into the backstage area between the Disney Village and Disney's Hotel New York.

Note: if you want to catch the parade just watch the "Father Christmas"-show and head in direction of the Lake Disney as soon as it ends. If you want to pass the show by make sure to stay on the main street of the Disney Village as the parade has no set starting time and is not included in the official program schedule but only announced through the public speaker system which is not connected to the speakers in the shops and restaurants.
Usually it does not matter where you watch the short parade but if you want a good photo of Santa Claus maybe even with a member of your party you should either wait for the parade near the Christmas Trees at the shore of Lake Disney or follow the parade to this photo point.

Kurz nach der Vorstellung besteigt der Weihnachtsmann seinen Schlitten direkt neben der Central Stage und führt die Disney Village Christmas Parade an.

Der kleine, dekorierte Schlitten wird von einem Pferd durch das Disney Village gezogen, während der Weihnachtsmann alle Gäste und besonders die Kinder mit einem warmen Lächeln grüßt. Hinter ihm folgen die Elfen und Carollers aus der Show. Eigentlich handelt es sich nämlich weniger um eine Parade, auch wenn sie mit weihnachtlicher Musik untermalt wird, als um einen Ausmarsch der Darsteller. Während Teenager und Erwachsene das weitgehend ignorieren werden, sind jüngere Kinder immer wieder begeistert, den Weihnachtsmann zu sehen, besonders wenn er in seinem Schlitten. Ein Photo Ihres Kindes mit ihm am Ende der Parade kann für Ihr Kind durchaus der Höhepunkt des Besuchs im Disney Village sein.

Die Parade läuft von der Central Stage direkt zum Lake Disney, wo sie vor den Weihnachtsbäumen stoppt, so dass die Gäste Gelegenheit haben, Photos von dem Weihnachtsmann zu machen, bevor die Parade zwischen dem Disney Village und dem Disney's Hotel New York verschwindet.

Hinweis: wenn Sie die Parade sehen wollen, geniessen Sie doch zuerst einfach die "Father Christmas"-Show und gehen direkt nach ihrem Ende in Richtung Lake Disney. Wollen Sie die Show auslassen, achten Sie darauf sich auf der Hauptstrasse des Disney Village aufzuhalten, denn die Parade hat keine feste Startzeit und ist auch nicht dem gedruckten Programm zu entnehmen; sie wird lediglich über Lautsprecher angesagt und auch das nicht in den Shops und Restaurants.
Wo Sie die Parade sehen ist egal, für Photos empfiehlt es sich aber sie vor den Weihnachtsbäumen am Lake Disney abzupassen oder ihr dorthin zu folgen.
