The dream of a white Christmas came true in the heart of the park in 2001, right in front of the Castle on the Central Plaza, where magicaly a small forest covered in snow had appeared - the perfect winter wonderland!

Stepping into the Magical Christmas Tree Forest guests will discover the magic and purity of the majestic firs decorated by mother nature herself in snow ... but as the relaxing stroll through the forest reveals she got a little help from Mickey and his friends, who must have strolled in here too and decided to prepare this echanted forest for their private Christmas party complete with presents and Christmas-trees ...

A real eye-catcher is the Christmas-tree decorated by Goofy with an assortment of stars and photos. But it wouldn't be Goofy and his Christmas-tree if there wouldn't be something a little bit unusual - or did you ever see a tree growing up side down?
Mickey and Minnie decorated another tree together and created a magnificent attestation of their love - crowned by a huge star with an extra set of mouse-ears!
And even Pluto got his own tree, over and over hang with ornaments and even pciture frames modeled out of bones which makes one wonder how long this tree will last, when Pluto has moved into his new dog-house next to it.
In safe distance even Chip'n'Dale decorated a tree - over and over with nuts - proofing that they are by far bigger artists as one would have thought. The only one missing was Donald Duck in that year - and he made a big fuss about it. So in 2002 he was allowed to try his hands too - when the characters' christmas trees returned. Unfortunately there was no room anymore for Chip'n'Dales tree once Donald had moved in.

Not only guests frequent this magical place but Disney Characters too - with a little bit of luck you may meet some of them, when they bring along more gifts to place by the trees just as Winnie the Pooh did, who gave away some extra large pots of his honey.

Taking a stroll through the forest carries the guest away from the lively Main Street at the turn of the century with all the Christmas shopping hustle into another tranquilent world of dreams. If you were really careful and silent, you might even have heared the christmas bells in the air guiding you to a secret hideaway deep in the forest where someone else celebrated the joys of his first winter: Bambi and his friends!
Deep in the forest where they had retreated to they were safe from the snow that magically fell onto the trees and walkways several times a day making the illusion of a winter wonderland perfect...

When the nightfalls and each step on the snow makes that unique sound of crumbling snow flakes in a magical way all the forest is illuminated in a blue light with the lights of the trees glimmering and shining as guiding lights.

The elaborate sets of the Magical Christmas Tree Forest were 2001 one of the quiet but especially magical highlights of the holiday season that impressed every guest and even took them into a fairy tale world - if they are willing to immerse into the atmosphere ... the perfect place to relax and find the way back to the true heart of the holidays.

 Der Traum einer weissen Weihnacht wurde 2001 im Herzen des Parks, vor dem Schloss auf der Central Plaza wahr, wo auf magische Weise ein kleiner, schneebedeckter Wald auftauchte - das perfekte Winter Wunderland!

Schon wenige Schritte in den verzauberten Weihnachtsbaumwald hinein entdecken die Gäste den Zauber der majestätischen Tannen, die Mutter Natur selbst mit Schnee dekoriert hat ... wobei sie noch ein wenig Hilfe von Mickey und seinen Freunden bekommen hat, wie der entspannende Spaziergang durch den Wald enthüllt. Denn Mickey und seine Freunde haben hier alles für ihre Weihnachtsparty samt Geschenken und Weihnachtsbäumen vorbereitet...

Ein echter Hingucker ist dabei der Weihnachtsbaum, den Goofy mit einer abenteuerlichen Zusammenstellung an Sternen dekoriert hat. Aber es wäre nicht Goofy und sein Weihnachtsbaum, wenn es da nicht noch eine Besonderheit gäbe - oder haben Sie schon einmal einen Weihnachtsbaum auf dem Kopf stehen gesehen?
Mickey und Minnie haben einen anderen Baum als Ausdruck ihrer Liebe dekoriert - mit einem großen Stern samt Mäuseohren als Krönung!
Selbst Pluto hat hier seinen eigenen Baum, über und über behängt mit Ornamenten und Bilderrahmen aus Knochen, so dass man sich fragen muss, wie lange dieser Schmuck überlebt, zieht Pluto erst in seine neue Hundhütte neben dem Baum.
In sicherem Abstand haben auch A- und B-Hörnchen einen Baum dekoriert - ganz im Zeichen der Nuss - der beweist, dass die beiden gar nicht so kleine Künstler sind. Der einzige der in diesem Jahr fehlte war Donald Duck - und der regte sich entsprechend auf, so dass er sich dann 2002 ebenfalls am Dekorieren eines Baumes versuchen durfte, als die Weihnachtsbäume der Charaktere erneut auf der Central Plaza zu finden waren. Leider war dadurch kein Platz mehr für A- und B-Hörnchen.

Nicht nur Gäste besuchen gerne diesen magischen Ort, sondern auch die Disney Charaktere - mit etwas Glück können sie einige treffen, wenn sie ihre Geschenke bei den Bäumen ablegen, wie es Winnie Puuh schon getan hat, der extra große Honigtöpfe verschenkt hat.

Der Spaziergang durch den Wald führt die Gäste fort von der lebhaften Main Street und dem Weihnachts-Shopping-Andrang in eine ruige Welt der Träume. Wer ganz vorsichtig und leise war, konnte sogar die Weihnachtsglocken leise erklingen hören, die den Weg zu einem versteckten Ort tief im Wald wiesen, an dem jemand die Freuden seines ersten Winters erlebte: Bambi und seine Freunde!
Tief im Inneren des Waldes waren sie auch sicher vor dem Schnee der auf magische Weise mehrmals täglich auf die Bäume und die Wege fiel und die Illusion eines Winter Wunderlandes perfekt macht...

Wenn die Dämmerung hereinbricht und jeder Schritt auf dem Schnee knirscht, wird der Wald auf magische Weise in blauem Licht illuminiert und die glitzernden Lichter der Bäume weisen den Weg.

Die wundervollen Szenen des verzauberten Weihnachtsbaumwaldes waren einer der leisen aber besonders zauberhaften Höhepunkte der Saison 2001, die jedermann beeindrucken und in eine Märchenwelt entführen - wenn man den willens ist, sich der Atmosphäre hinzugeben ... der perfekte Ort um sich zu entspannen und den Weg zurück zum wahren Herzen Weihnachtens zu finden.

  Even so situated right in front of the castle on Central Plaza, the park's central hub, there are usually no lines not even at the most busiest times of the day, but the crowds in the forest are significantly bigger right before or after Mickey's Nutcracker Parade, the Main Street Electrical Parade or the Fireworks display. To be able to fully appreciate the atmosphere of the enchanted forest we recommend to visit during a less crowded time, maybe when passing through the Central Plaza on the way from one land to another.

The enchanted forest becomes even more magical after nightfall, when the snowy landscape and the decorated trees are beautifully illuminated.

Make sure to catch the magical snowfall in the forest! Several times daily huge snow flakes gently float to the ground and onto the trees of the forest - enchanting children and grown ups just as the first snow flake you ever catched.
The snow fall is not scheduled but takes place regularly all through the day and during the final of the Tree Lightning Ceremony, when the lighting adds a special touch.

Auf keinen Fall sollten Sie den Schneefall verpassen! Mehrmals täglich gleiten große Schneeflocken elegant durch die Luft - und verzaubern Kindern und Erwachsene gleichermassen.
Der Schneefall wird nicht angekündigt, ist aber regelmässig, sowie während des Finales der Tree Lightning Ceremony zu bewundern, wobei die Illumination während letzterer noch einen zusätzlichen Zauber webt.

  If you wonder why the trees in the center of the forest have roofes just as the turrets of the Sleeping Beauty Castle take a close look at the shape of this ensemble of trees and you will recognize that this group resembles the shape of the castle.

The Magical Christmas Tree Forest magicaly appeared on time for the Christmas-season 2001/02 and kept the fairies busy for nearly half a month. Therefor the Central Plaza was fenced off already during most of the Halloween Festival - the first tree tops were spotted around the actual Halloween day.
In 2002 the preparations were a lot faster, mostly as the central forest element starring Bambi did not return - even so Donald Duck had made his voice clearly heared all year long, complaining that he wasn't allowed to decorate a tree in the first year - but 2002 he finally got his chance too! Instead of the central forest element a changing stage has been placed in the center of the Plaza since 2002, for which the characters' christmas trees function as a "frame".

For all those ever inquiring souls we will reveal one secret behind the enchanted forest: the snow covering the ground is in fact nothing but specially treated wood chips known as "white orgacolor" which are biodegradable and serve as fertilizer for the flowerbeds beneath them.

Der verzauberte Weihnachtsbaumwald erschien auf magische Weise für die Weihnachtssaison 2001/02 und beschäftigte die Feen nahezu einen halben Monat. Daher wurde die Central Plaza bereits während des Halloween Festivals abgezäunt - die ersten Baumspitzen waren dann am Halloween Tag auszumachen.
2002 waren die Vorbereitungen deutlich schneller erledigt - obwohl Donald Duck das ganze Jahr über seine Verärgerung deutlich gemacht hatte, dass er im ersten Jahr keinen Baum schmücken durfte... Schließlich musste das zentrale Waldelement mit Bambi und ihren Freunden nicht mehr errichtet werden, da seit 2002 nur mehr die Weihnachtsbäume der Charaktere auf der Central Plaza zu finden sind, als Rahmen für eine in ihrem Zentrum errichtete Bühne.

Für alle, die hinter den Zauber schauen wollen, lüften wir ein Geheimnis des Zauberwaldes: bei dem Schnee, der den Boden bedeckt, handelt es sich um speziell behandelte Holzschnitzel - das so genannte "weisse Orgacolor", das kompostierbar ist und als Dünger für die Blumenbeete darunter dient.
