On 144 pages (of which 31 are dedicated to Disneyland Paris) it offers short but precise information which are completed by the addition of 115 pictures and 6 maps. There are also useful hints about how to get to the parks and a chapter "Information A-Z". The attractions are (most of the time without comments of the author) described objectively. Missing are the parks Disney's California Adventure and the Walt Disney Studios Paris which opened after the release of the book. Description: Beschreibung:	An important biography of a work in progress for all Disney-Experts and Fans. Easy to read as it does not contain too much business English. Of course it features a large chapter about the Euro Disney Resort (about 40 pages) with lots of background information on the huge project and how it came to be reality. Highly recommended, even so especially the feud with Jeff Katzenberg is reported very subjective. Review by Heiko & DLP-Guidebook-Team		Eine durchaus wichtige Biographie eines Work in Progress für alle Disney Experten und Fans. Einfach und unkompliziert geschrieben, mit so gut wie keinem "Manager-Deutsch". Natürlich beinhaltet es ein großes Kapitel zum Euro Disney Resort (knapp 40 Seiten), das auch Hintergrundinformationen zu dem Mammutprojekt, und wie es realisiert wurde, liefert. Die Geschichte und Entwicklung von Walt Disney und seiner Company werden hier in ausführlichen Texten vorgestellt. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt des mit zahlreichen Photos, Zeichnungen, Skizzen und Cells aus den Archiven illustrierten Werkes aber eher auf den Cartoons und Zeichentrickfilmen. Damit richtet es sich in erster Linie an die Freunde dieser. Im letzten (leider zu knappen) Kapitel kommen dann aber auch die Fans der Disney Themenparks auf ihre Kosten. Das ausführlich Buch bietet einen einmaligen Überblick über das Werk Disneys und seine Entwicklung durch die Walt Disney Company. Vorsicht: die Taschenbuchausgabe von 1999 wurde bis einschließlich "Fantasia 2000" fortgeschrieben, während die gebundene Ausgabe seit 1995 unverändert blieb.

Die Texte für jedes Jahr stellen dabei die Meilensteine und wichtigsten Produktionen vor - aus damaliger und heutiger Sicht. Disneyland Paris ist dabei überraschend ausführlich bedacht. Jedoch fällt, speziell bei den Texten 1998, 1999 und 2000 auf, dass sich die Autoren auf Disney Publikationen verließen und Objektivität vermissen lassen. Dennoch ist dies ein Schatz den man immer wieder gerne in die Hand nimmt.

In seiner vierten und aktuellsten Fassung hat der bekannte Filmhistoriker Maltin ein Buch abgeliefert, das nicht nur jeden einzelnen Disneyfilm der zu Walt Disneys Lebzeiten produziert wurde beschreibt sowie auf dessen Produktion und dessen Reaktionen bei Kritikern und Publikum eingeht sondern es gibt auch einen bemerkenswerten Einblick in die Geschichte des Studios selber. Im Herzen der Magie von Disney und auch der Themenparks stehen die Animationsfilme und besonders ihre Charaktere. Diese Enzyklopädie, erstellt mit Hilfe der Archive der Walt Disney Company, stellt wirklich jeden benannten Charakter (und einige namenlosen) beginnend mit den ersten Animationen aus den 20ern bis hin zu Herkules vor, sowie die Figuren der TV-Serien. Das ausführlichst, farbig illustrierte Werk widmet dabei jedem Charakter einen eigenen Abschnitt in einem Kapitel für das (Haupt-)Werk, in dem er auftrat. So werden auch noch alle Filme vorgestellt und das Buch wird endgültig zum "Muss" für alle Disney-Animations-Fans, ist aber auch eine äußerst hilfreiche Enzyklopädie (wer ist der Charakter den ich im Adventureland photographiert habe?) und bietet dank der flüssigen, kritischen Texte auch Lesespaß - einmalig ist es obendrein.
