Goofy & Pooh Forgotten?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Yesterday we reported about the return of the (tweaked) Enchanted Fireworks and the (also tweaked) Disney’s Fantillusion parade for the summer season. However, not every entertainment offering from the past year has made its comeback. In particular smaller offerings such as “Good Morning Studios” and the “Toon Train” in the Studios are gone (as well as the “High School Musical” performance) – without replacement, even so “Stitch or friends” are supposed to pose for photos and sign autographs on the Place des Stars for 3 1/2 hours each afternoon adding to the lineup of characters usually found in Toon Plaza, on the Front Lot and at the Monsters. Inc. photo backdrop. Interestingly the visits of Jack Sparrow to the pirates’ section of the Disney Blockbuster Cafe have been stopped as well.  The picture at the Disneyland Park is slightly different though… (more…)

Princess Tiana Ball

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Yesterday Disney’s The Princess and the Frog finally arrived on DVD and BluRay in German shops. In each jewel case eager buyers of Disney’s latest animated feature will find a leaflet advertising the New Generation Festival at Disneyland Paris. Certainly it is not called “New Generation Festival” here. Instead the official name of the festival for the German market is used: New Stars Festival – which funnily is English as well. On the back side of the leaflet however it gets really interesting… (more…)

Frog-Shop

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

New merchandise of The Princess and the Frog” can be found all over the resort, however the characters of the movie did get a special place that they can call their own. In the Disney & Co shop on Main Street US.A. They found a nice “home”. At the back of the shop, in the small area behind the name plaque “Side Show” the frog and his friends have moved in.

There are Tiana, Price Naveen (or should we just say the frog) and Louis plush, nice Tiana princess dresses, T-shirts, books and other nice collectibles on display in the back of the Disney & Co shop.

The Frog’s “crew” will be able to call this their special place until the next big Disney movie premier. But until that happen little princesses visiting the shop will have a nice place to dream.

Daddies, get those wallet out! Remember you can get Louis for only 9,90 Euro if you spend 20 Euro on other Disney items first and this is a perfect place to do so.

Half-a-Gator

Alligators are very cuddly creatures… well, at least the Disney alligators are! Louis, the trumpet playing alligator from The Princess and the Frog, is a fine example of such lovable alligators. Just have a look at the picture, don’t you just want to get him, take him home and hug him?

If you want, he can be your special cuddly buddy and on top of that he can be it for half price. The price tags says 19,90 Euro but if you spend a total of 20 Euro on other Disney merchandise you can get yourself the alligator just under half price. That’s only 9.90 Euro for this cuddly toy.

Entertainment Rumors Summed Up (updated)

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Over the years the various entertainment offerings in both theme parks at Disneyland Paris have been closely scrutinized by fans, a considerable group of whom in the recent years became more and more vocal. Subject of the criticism were in particular the limited amount of entertainment offered outside high season, the sometime as stale or not popular enough perceived offerings and what can only be seen as waste of money by the entertainment team in the form of ordering the construction of a major stage on Central Plaza, when other stages sit mostly unused.

With the “New Generation Festival” starting in April 2010 for both theme parks and the heavy emphasize that the resort itself put on the entertainment offerings the rumor mills started turning fast again and then jumping into overdrive when suddenly reports about the pre-opening cancellation of a small happening planned for the Walt Disney Studios Park surfaced during the past weekend. Unfortunately that is not the only bad report / rumor coming out of the resort for the entertainment offerings … time for a “rumor sum up”! (more…)

Disney’s latest animated feature ”The Princess and the Frog” has been premiering in Europe at various dates depending on the countries with France still awaiting the premiere at January 27 (members of the resort’s Shareholders’ Club can still reserve up to three free tickets per member for an exclusive advance screening of the French version of the movie on January 23rd at the Studio Theatre inside the Walt Disney Studios, normally home of Cinemagique). Let’s get ready for the New Generation

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

2010 Disneyland Paris is celebrating the “New Generation Festival” – as is hard to miss, with the festival’s theme being layered over the spring / summer brochures already all over Europe and the according posters already placed over the moving wlakways between the theme parks and their main parking lot.

Now DLRP Fan Blog and DLRP Today have found the first official trailer in English (and in case of the DLRP Fan Blog also in Dutch) for the festival that will premier in April 2010 as also embedded below. (more…)

Out with Old, In with the New

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

New Year’s is still a far thought for most alas the Walt Disney Studios Park has already replaced some of its older decorations with new material in a move to refresh the look for return guests and avoid a dated impression due to the various posters for long gone movies. Which ones? This time we are talking about selected large oversized movie posters on the two long sides of Studio 1 as well as selected posters on the lighting and sound poles lining the parade route on Production Courtyard and in the Backlot.
