Disney Magical Moments – spoiler videos

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

April 126 will see the official start of the Disney Magical Moments festival at Disneyland Paris to last till early 2012. The festival includes two new entertainment offerings: the Disney Dance Express and Mickey’s Magical Celebration.

The Disney Dance Express replaces the Disney Character Express and is scheduled to be presented about 3 times daily during the morning hours. It will feature Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, Chip and Dale together with a dance crew. The train of the former Disney Character Express will transport the whole group to Central Plaza where they will stop for a high energy dance performance inviting especially younger guests to join in.

Mickey’s Magical Celebration is the new stage show presented on the Central Plaza stage. However, different from the Disney Showtime Spectacular (presented on the same stage during 2010) it is currently planed to present the new show only once per day to close of the day. The show features Mickey (for the second half of the show wearing his sorcerer’s apprentice costume), the Fairy Godmother, the Genie (for the first time ever at Disneyland Paris as a face character), Merlin and the Disney Princesses with their Princes: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana and – for the first time at Disneyland Paris with her fellow Disney Princesses – Rapuncel with Flinn.

Past Thursday, March 25th, the Disneyland Park hosted a preview of both the Disney Dance Express and Mickey’s Magical Celebration for guests of an (upcharge) after-hour event in the park. YouTube user stitch59000 was on hand for both performances and uploaded complete videos of both performances to YouTube … if you are interested both have been embedded below the jump – however, if you don’t want to see the performance before your visit to the park … just don’t click! Buffalo Bill getting desperate?

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show seems to continue to struggle to fill the vast arena on a nearly daily bases in the Disney Village. Despite having added “Mickey and friends” last year and the boosted advertising all throughout the resort special offers are popping up more and more often.

After special rates for cast members now a special rate for guests of the parks has been set up. As small DIN-A-4 “posters” in the windows of the ticket counters inform guests they can save up to 20 EUR with their theme park passport when buying tickets for the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show for the same day – a considerable savings that might upset quite a few Disney Hotel guests who are remainded to book tickets for the dinner show already when making their reservations for a Disney package.

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West dinner show has been presented nearly daily in the custom built arena in the Disney Village since the opening of the resort in 1992. While there were rumors about a potential replacement in 2000/1 (mentioning a potential Zorro theme for a follow-up show) the show was only tweaked over the years – so maybe it is time for a replacement to attract return visits from return guests of the resort ? What do YOU think?

Go Cats! Go Away…

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

What’s hot today is out tomorrow. It happens to most trends and it seems to be no different for the High School Musical franchise. Although the official end of the franchise might still be some time away, as a new (made for tv) movie with new actors is still supposed to be among the future projects of the original US Disney Channel, the previous trilogy’s fame seems to be fading. With the according rolling stage show in the Walt Disney Studios returned the HSM merchandise at least seems to receive its final curtain call in Disneyland Paris.

For those still loving the movies this could be good news too as prices on High School Musical products are coming down. In Disneyland Paris you can now find High School Musical items in the discount corners of various resort shops – e.g. the Emporium in the Disneyland Park as seen here.

Spring Time = Flower Power Time

Monday, April 12th, 2010

The Disney Village is getting ready for spring. The flowers and trees along its roads are sporting fresh bright leaves and are starting to bloom colorful. This “Flower Power” has inspired the “Animation de Printemps” / “Spring Entertainment” program which the resort has set up for the Disney Village featuring live musical performances by a female duo tellingly named “Flower Power”. Entertainment Rumors Summed Up (updated)

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Over the years the various entertainment offerings in both theme parks at Disneyland Paris have been closely scrutinized by fans, a considerable group of whom in the recent years became more and more vocal. Subject of the criticism were in particular the limited amount of entertainment offered outside high season, the sometime as stale or not popular enough perceived offerings and what can only be seen as waste of money by the entertainment team in the form of ordering the construction of a major stage on Central Plaza, when other stages sit mostly unused.

With the “New Generation Festival” starting in April 2010 for both theme parks and the heavy emphasize that the resort itself put on the entertainment offerings the rumor mills started turning fast again and then jumping into overdrive when suddenly reports about the pre-opening cancellation of a small happening planned for the Walt Disney Studios Park surfaced during the past weekend. Unfortunately that is not the only bad report / rumor coming out of the resort for the entertainment offerings … time for a “rumor sum up”! (more…)

Celebrating Christmas Day at Disney Village

Monday, December 14th, 2009

The Christmas Season is maybe the most magical time to visit Disneyland Paris, with whimsical decorations in both theme parks as well as the hotels and special entertainment throughout the resort, in particular certainly the Disneyland Park. Certainly the resort is offering the guests of the Disney Hotels on December 24th options for a festive dinner to celebrate in style. Now the Disney Village has announced its offers for this occassion as well – one of which can be enjoyed by every guest for free. (more…)

Little changes …

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Even with the  Christmas season already in full swing the resort seems to continue its policy of enacting small changes throughout. The latest changes? According to a report of Andrea, who visited the resort earlier this week, the small “Snow White” happening (along the lines of the Mary Poppins event on Twon Square or the Sleeping Beauty event in the Castle Courtyard) that premiered only at the beginning of the Christmas Season received a first small addition. Disney Stars’n'Cars on the Big Screen

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Stars 'n' CarsThe grand finale of the daily entertainment in the Walt Disney Studios Park is “Disney Stars’n'Cars” – a calvacade of oldtimers decorated in style for Disney Characters rolling through the Animation Courtyard to the Production Courtyard Stage like a small parade, where the large cast of Disney Characters (including certainly the fab five, classic characters like Snow White but also modern characters such as Mulan or Sully) disembark for a revue style song and dance show before being available for photos and autographs (and finally heading the parade route back on board of their unique cars).

If there is one downside to the popular event it is that many first time guests line up along the parade route for the entrance of the characters and then have to follow the oldtimers to the stage, where they have to stand behind those guests, which reserved a good position to watch the 20 minute show performance. However, the entertainment crew have tried to solve this problem as good as they can. For one thing the characters not performing on stage in any given time are working the crowds on the sides and behind the stage. And then the entertainment crew is making use of the giant video screen on the facade of the Disney Channel Studios building! (more…)

Snow White on the Castle Stage

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Castle StageAfter more than 4 years the Royal Castle Stage next to Sleeping Beauty Castle seems to be set to be finally used for a show again – instead of function as a photo location for Disney Characters (in particular the Disney Princesses). The last show performed on this stage for a longer period of time was the first version of ”Winnie the Pooh and Friends, too” which closed at the end of the summer season 2005. Once its sets had been taken down the stage was sitting barren and empty except for minor elements moved in temporarly for the popular photo opportunities. However, most of the time the stage looked just as on the photo on the righ, taken this summer. BUT – that is about to change … (more…)
