The new Tron Legacy has found its way inside the Disneyland Paris shops. The new “toys for boys” will make both youngsters, who had their first Tron fix with the new Legacy movie, and fans from the old movie heart skip a beat. There are fantastic looking action figures based on the characters of the movie. Also available are small and big vehicles from the film that can be added to a Tron collection, including the awesome Light Cycle. Both the action figures and vehicles are displayed inside great looking packaging that can be found at various shops throughout the resort and even at selected merchandise carts in the parks. Christmas Snowglobes

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

At Disneyland Paris guest have the chance to buy some of the nicest snowglobes out there. They show beautiful representations of Disney Classic, Pixar movies or scenes from the parks. These globes are a great addition to any Disney fan and collector and are always something nice to take home from a Disneyland holiday.

Disney is also using the same globe theme in some of it’s Christmas decoration. Especially extra decoration in front of shops.  (more…)

You must be this tall

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Walt Disney wanted to create a place where parents and children could play together, a place where parents wouldn’t have to sit down and wait until the children are done riding the merry-go-round. Now you find Disney parks all over the world where you can share the fun on the rides together, Where parents and children can ride together, where nobody has to sit on the side,… unless you’re not tall enough!

Some children wouldn’t want to go on these “scary” attractions, others are disappointed when they are turned down at the entrance of these attractions. So what’s the best solution when you can’t ride? Go shopping!

You can take a souvenir bobble head home reminding you how tall you have to be before you can go on the ride. A nice Idea for the children still waiting to grow bigger, but also nice for the Disney Park collectors who just like attraction novelties. The little one might not been able to ride, but with the new toy they can look forwards to the next visit when they see they hit the right hight.

Red out – Beige in…

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

If red is your color and you enjoy cooking it’s time to go to Disneyland and get some great deals. The red wester style kitchenware is on sale and can be yours for a nice 50% discount.

It look like it needs to make room for a new color and in this case the new color seems to be beige. Although the beige kitchenware set has been on the shelves for some time, it seem to have found a place in more of the shops as it did before.

Frog-Shop

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

New merchandise of The Princess and the Frog” can be found all over the resort, however the characters of the movie did get a special place that they can call their own. In the Disney & Co shop on Main Street US.A. They found a nice “home”. At the back of the shop, in the small area behind the name plaque “Side Show” the frog and his friends have moved in.

There are Tiana, Price Naveen (or should we just say the frog) and Louis plush, nice Tiana princess dresses, T-shirts, books and other nice collectibles on display in the back of the Disney & Co shop.

The Frog’s “crew” will be able to call this their special place until the next big Disney movie premier. But until that happen little princesses visiting the shop will have a nice place to dream.

Daddies, get those wallet out! Remember you can get Louis for only 9,90 Euro if you spend 20 Euro on other Disney items first and this is a perfect place to do so.

A place for great design

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Val d'Europe RocheboboisNot few people expected the Val d’Europe shopping center and outlet to become an economic disaster when it was first opened in 1998.
And in the beginning it looked as if they were right since the whole place seemed to be deserted most of the time – especially if one kept its huge size in mind. The shops were empty most of the time and one asked how they could make any profit since the few visitors seemed only to tour the very well designed center instead of buying any goods – and someone carrying a shopping bag was a rare sighting. G-Force vs. UP in the Shops

Monday, October 5th, 2009

G-Force MerchandiseMerchandise for the movie “G-Force” is found in numerous shops all around Disneyland Paris, in particular the Disney Store in the Disney Village, the Disney Hollywood Store and Studio 1 in Walt Disney Studios and Emporium in the Disneyland Park but also in other shops; in fact there is more G-Force merchandise than merchandise for UP. Plus the G-Force merchandise is placed more prominently then the new UP movie is.

G-Force MerchandiseCould it be that the cuddly factor makes the big difference here?

G-Force is a Jerry Bruckheimer produced Disney feature starring computer animated guinea pigs saving the world (the first movie for Bruckheimer starring computer animated characters in the lead parts).

G-Force MerchandiseG-Force has also an exclusive for Disneyland Paris. The “I was born ready” T-shirt can only be bought at the Paris resort. Next to the T-Shirt there are the action figure toys for the boys and the more cuddly plush for the little once and the girls.

G-Force MerchandiseWith UP getting rave reviews more collectibles might find its way into the shops, but even if the characters are likable it will not be easy to beat the possibilities G-Force has in merchandise and its bigger market appeal. However, even with their nice display and choice, G-Force might not be able to brake the Cars merchandise success. Cars premiered in 2006 and merchandise of this Disney/Pixar feature is still going very strong at all Disney shops around the globe.

Pins Going to the Back

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Hollywood Pictures Pin TradingAt the Hollywood Pictures Shop in the Disney Village pins used to have a very nice corner just for themselfs. They where displayed on a nice sized wall at the left hand entrance of the shop. Character pins, attraction pins, hotel pins and many other themed pins. There was also a selection of lanyards and bags to choose from.

At the side of the wall was a little table where pin traders could show of their collection and start trading for pins still missing from that collection. Unfortunately the pin trading corner slowly but surly got deserted over time as most pin traders would meet inside the park and trading at the Hollywood Pictures store got absolute.

Hollywood Pictures Pin TradingThe pins are now pushed further back inside the shop where they are displayed on a smaller rack. Bags and lanyards are still on display too but the choice of pins did shrink. The limited pins are on display inside a small plastic cube. The display is a nice feature and looks very nice and inviting to guest.

However, the move to a smaller section inside the store might be an indication that the popularity of the pins are not as big as it used to be.
