Disneyland has started testing the new “Disney Dreams” Show, the show especially created for the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, inside the park. The test includes the show, that will be projected on the castle, and the new music. It’s not know if all show elements are already included in this first test phase, but one can expect if not all elements are there yet more and more to be added until the full show can take place.
Those test are taking place during afterhours with no general public in the park, but if you are staying at the Disneyland hotel the coming months you might see a little more of the magic before the premiere.
Especially those staying at the Castle Club level will be able to see a little early “Disney Dreams” magic. The show itself will be part of the new Disneyland Paris programme that will officially start as from April 1st. The night time show “Disney Dreams” will be filled with Disney characters that are being projected on the castle. But that’s only the beginning of what looks like an amazing display of Disney magic. There will be tons of other projections on the castle and on water screens in front of it. There will be water fountains and fire, an amazing new music score and a collection of other surprises.
Disney is starting to share some official information about the show via a new video they posted on the web. Here you’ll see the Imagineers, including Steven Davison (creator of Disneyland’s World of Color in Anaheim), whom worked on the show talking about what to expect. The video already shows some of the projections, including a scene with Peter Pan (what is rumoured to be the opening scene), pyrotechnics, fire effects, water fountains and even a short Mickey Mouse teaser. A very nice preview for those fans that can’t wait.
Also in the video is some information about the new “Disney Magic on Parade!” Disneyland Resort will get. The new floats include a Castle float, horse carriages with princesses and a fantastic looking final float celebrating the 20 years of Disney magic in Paris. There are also some pictures included in the video with the Disney characters and their new costumes they will wear during the festivities. They are very colourful and look like fun, especially Goofy’s green outfit can’t be missed.
Only a couple of months left before we can enjoy this amazing looking show for Disneyland Paris 20th anniversary celebration. Not to be missed!Â

Going to Disneyland Paris isn’t cheap with a 2 days/2 parks ticket already surpassing the 100 Euro mark but prices could skyrocket even higher once the sales tax in the industry will change from 5,5% to a 19,6% high. This sales taxes increase was announced by President Nicolas Sarkozy last week as part of measures to reduce the country’s deficit and to help retaining the country’s AAA credit rating. While Disneyland Paris seems busier than ever before with record attendance numbers, this increase could hurt the resort as an increase of this measure will not go unnoticed.Â

It wasn’t long ago that the “ice rink” at the back entrance of the New York hotel was in fact an… ice rink. But there have been some changes at the ice ring.
Since the 1st of July (yes, we are a little late with the news) Disney has started with a new attraction where guests can step into a rolling “bulles” and run around the ring. They advertise it with “Come and try new sensations on Rockefeller Plaza’s Rink”.
Guest will have 10 minutes the time to enjoy the run inside the big blow up ball for 10 Euro.
This attraction is open for guests as from 3 years old. The attraction is open from 6pm to 11:30pm and will run until September 30. Disney did put a warning on the poster that the attraction may be suspended without prior notice, notably in case of inclement weather conditions.
Disneyland Resort Paris and the Belgian town Blankenberge are working together to bring the Disneyland Paris theme park to the seaside. How? By building a replica of the park and both the Disney and Pixar characters on the beach by using sand during the “sand sculpture festival”.
For more information on the event, the theme and what to expect, follow our sister blog Mousekingdom. We will be there to see the result and will bring full coverage of the festival on the mousekingdom blog too.
On the Disney side the project is spearheaded by Imagineering which is already deply involved at the current point and has sent personnel over them USA. However, it should be noted that the project is still in the planning phase so any and all data might change. Nevertheless, the website gives a good impression about the first phase of the project that is supposed to include 1,730 new “rooms” (710 apartments around the central lagoon plus 1,020 cottages further south on the property), the (supposedly with 9,000 square meter) largest water park in Europe, restaurants, retail options and additional leisure facilities. Everybody neat and pretty? Then on with the show! Guests of the Disney Hotels used to find colorful soap packages and small bottles in their rooms with this famous quote from the Mickey Mouse Club in the early years of the resort. However, a couple of years ago these were replaced with new bootles and paper packaging for the soap bars featuring a more restrained design featuring sketches of Mickey. The bottle featured a unique black plastic top complete with three dimensional Mickey ears that were attached to the part that swung back to open the bottle. However, both bottle and soap box packaging were updated again late last year.
This latest updated did not bring in an all-new look but only small changes to the prior design as the photo on the left shows, taken at the end of 2010 at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. The paper packaging for the soap bar still uses the sketch of Mickey but now features the current logo of Disneyland Paris. Interestingly the shampoo and shower bottle still uses an older “Disneyland Resort Paris” logo. However, the bottle no longer features the unique top with the Mickey ears. In its place a simple black cap can now be found that has to be screwed off (and later back on) to open the bottle.
As has been widely reported online Disney’s Sequoia Lodge has started a major rehab of it’s rooms. After upgrading the TV-sets already last year, now the rooms in the hotel’s lodges are being upgraded to a new design with new wallpapers, furniture and more.
The new look for the rooms and public areas in the lodges retains the original feel and concept, in particular the warmth of a national park lodge. At the same time it adds subtle Disney touches by introducing artwork from the Disney classic Bambi respectively based on the Disney classic to the designs. Considering the upgrade that goes with this the resort has decided to swap the names “standard room” and “Montana room”. In the past the standard rooms where located in the lodges, the “Montana rooms” (which require a surcharge) in the main building. Now the “Montana rooms” are referring to the upgraded rooms in the lodges, while the – so far not yet upgraded – rooms in the main building are referred to as “standard rooms”. Guests staying here may have to wait a bit longer till the rooms are upgraded.
However, first upgrades of public areas in the main building were already in place at the end of 2010… (more…)
Did you notice our little forum switch? Do you want to know what happened? Well, here is the story. The DLP.Info website has always had a lot of followers on our news site, guide and other pages. Many of our visitors have been posting on our forum sharing with us their thoughts about the news, gossip, topics and personal Disney stories. Our forum has known highs and lows, but always came with a lot of extra work. We, the DLP.Info team find it important to hear our guests and Disney fans as we all are part of one happy family with the love for the mouse. But we must admit we lost a little track with our forum, dedicating our time to the news blog and the guide. With that in mind we needed to find a good solution to get our forum going again.
What would be the best solution? We came to a joint decision to find a great existing forum where we could share our stories will all their guest. After a short search we came across the Magic Forum. It didn’t take us very long to see that this forum is not only a great one, but has also build up a fantastic community already. So we contacted the Administrator of the forum, Kristof, and started talking. A couple of months later you see the result of these talks: an official partnership between our site DLP.Info and the Magic Forum. (more…)
Even after the French National Team has been eliminated from the Football World Cup – throwing France in more than just a sport crisits but almost into a political crisis - there is a large interest in the tournament among visitors of the whole resort. Especially as the final games of the first round are almost finished and it is getting closer to the K.O.-phase. Afterall there are many visitors in Disneyland Paris that come from other nations which are still taking part in the tournament.
The whole team of the DLP.info News Blog hopes you are enjoying to read the latest news and rumors about the most magical place in Europe – however, today we want to ask YOU for a favor … don’t be afraid, we are not asking for donations … we want to ask for YOUR input!

So what we would love you to do is: let us know if you come across something you think worth reporting about here! No matter whether it is a small fun titbit from your latest visit, a great rumor or a photo of a new rehab or construction – everything!
How to do it? It is really easy: just send us an e-mail to ”news(At]dlp.info” (you know the game, just replace the relevant part in the mail-address – sorry for the spam protection) and you are set. All we need is your name and info whether respectively whom to give credit as source (including a website we should link to if you want to), the news / rumor / titbit / your own photo (please for legal reasons no photos of third parties) / whatever and finally where you were able to get it.
