Annual Passes Block Out Dates

Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

APMagicPlusDisneyland Paris has release the block out dates for the Annual Discovery , Magic Flex and the Magic Plus passes.

The Magic Plus pass only has a couple of block out dates. All around the Christmas and New Year holidays as well as the Halloween week and on November the 1st. If no visits planned around that holiday this Magic Plus pass is perfect for the fans that used to have the Dream pass. The price difference is minimum, only missing out the possibility to go on those big holidays.

The Magic Flex pass will have some more holidays on the block out list, as well as a collection of busy weekends. All of October an December weekends will be on the lists, among some other dates. See picture for the full list.

APDiscoveryAPMagicFlexThe Magic Flex is really only for those able to go in the low seasons as summer holiday, many other weeks and most weekends are on this pass block out list. See picture for the full list.

Don’t forget, until 27 march you can still buy the old Dream pass and it will be valid for all days until you have to renew it and either take the Magic Plus or the more expensive Infinity pass.

Annual Passes Price Boost

Tuesday, February 28th, 2017

AP-DLP-ParisIt was rumored, but now became reality, the Annual Passes price boost. Four new tiers are offered with the new passes, each bearing their own new name too.

The highest of the tiers is the Infinity pass. This Annual pass will enable you to go to the park whenever you want. It will grant you entrance to both gates on 365 days a year. This pass is the replacement for the former Dream pass. The Dream pass was available for €223,– but the new pass will set you back almost 80% more at €399,–. The new increase will give you some extra benefits like the PhotoPass, preferred parking and a dedicated entrance, among some other reportedly privileges like reserved viewing spots for parades.

Magic Plus, the second tier, will also benefit from a dedicated entrance. This AP will set you back €249,– or €26,– more then the old Dream park ticket. This ticket will grand you entrance on 350 days a years and might be the best option for those renewing their passes at a similar price as they are used to. A PhotoPass could be added for an extra €49,–. Discounts for the restaurants, shops and hotel rooms are a little lower then with the higher tier pass.

Next will be the Magic Flex. Access for 300 days a year and no access to extra magic hours, no free parking, no discount in the stores and other amenities that will be missing from this “cheaper” option.

The lowest tier is the Discovery pass. With €139,– it is the cheapest option, but it will be a adventure in itself to try to plan a visit around the 150 days the ticket will be valid.

While the price increase makes sense from a business standpoint, as AP’s used to be cheaper then a standard 4 to 5 day pass, it still hurts to see such a big jump in price.

Planning to visit Disneyland in the near future multiple times? Then consider ordering the old AP’s before the new ones are going on sale. Until March 28th you can still get the old Dream Pass for the €223,–. Even if you plan your next visit a little later in the year, this could save you some € in the long run.

A New Dragon for the 25th Anniversary

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

dragon1Disney Stars on Parade is part of the big 25th Anniversary and promises to dazzle the visitors with its new floats, new music, new costumes and the many characters that will ride on them.

The parade will premiere to the general public as from March 26, 2017.

Disney has release three gorgeous pictures. One of the dragon and two artistic renderings of Nemo and the Frozen float. The dragon looks futuristic, as it came straight from the mind of Jules Verne.

The parade will tell a story in 8 chapters, each of the chapters represented by a beautiful floats.

Chapter 1: “Discover a World of Magic”
Mickey’s and his friends, dressed as explorers of the future will open the parade.

Chapter 2: “Discover a World of Friendship”
The heroes of Toy Story celebrate true friendship and take us to infinity and beyond!

Chapter 3: “Discover an Adventure World”
Who better than Simba and Nala or Baloo and Mowgli to embody the spirit of adventure? A high rock dominates the exuberant flora of the jungle while percussion and bright colors free the wild instincts of an exotic world where, fortunately, “it takes little to be happy.”

Chapter 4: “Discover a World of Imagination”
From one rock to another, Captain Hook sits on the skull-shaped one. Peter Pan is not far off, at the helm of a ship hanging under a huge moon, very dreamlike.

nemo1Chapter 5: “Discover a New World”
You will find the huge tortoise Crush that will swim over a majestic decoration covered with coral.

Chapter 6: “Discover an Enchanted World”
The story of Disney Stars on Parade would not be complete without an epic battle of Prince Philip and the three fairies against an evil dragon.

Chapter 7: “Discover a World of Romance”
Fortunately, in fairy tales, Good … and Love always end in triumph. Contrasting marvelously with the impressive chariot that preceded it, Rapunzel, Cinderella and Belle and their respective charming princes make their entry on three graceful carriages. A romantic moment that will melt the heart of little girls … of all ages.

Chapter 8: “Discover a World of Wonders”
The Disney storybook is going to close in style with the two heroes of Frozen on the balcony of an ice castle.

New Look for the Disney Hotels: The Future

Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013

Now that we’ve seen what Disney has done so far in part one, and are working on now in part two, it is time to look at the other hotels in the resort that have not been part of the big refurbishment plan.

Disneys-Hotel-New-York-15Disney’s Hotel New York will undergo some big changed to. While no inside yet on what to expect some of secrets are already revealed. The Hotel has an iconic view, but it looks like the facade will get a big overhaul. Not yet clear how, but the hotel might be looking a lot different in the future. Another big change that might come is some more rooms to the hotel. Although this would only be tackled in phase 4, the hotel might get some extra capacity added. It is not clear yet where and how, but an expansion seems most likely. Research and concept work has started on the project, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet for the hotel’s refurbishment.

The first three phases will take care of the facade, the rooms and the other places of the hotel. Again executive rooms will be added and one can expect to see another private club for those guests staying here. More news will surely come our way in the future and we will of course make sure to follow it up and talk about it here.

Once this project is done the Disneyland hotel will be next, but nothing has been said about this project yet.

All hotels will also have Wi-Fi by then. This has been enrolled in both the Disneyland and New York hotels, but all other places will get these too. What better way to keep in contact with the home front while relaxing in one of Disney’s hotels.

New Look for the Disney Hotels: The Present

Tuesday, October 1st, 2013

DNPB1

Yesterday we talked about the projects from the past, today we look at what we can expect to see done at the moment or very near future. As said yesterday, Santa Fee is almost done so at the moment this could also be seen as the hotel that fits into this day’s topic, the present. DNPB2But it won’t be long before it is done and we will get to see another hotel covered in scaffoldings very, very soon. Planned for fall is the Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Everything will get done and by the time they are finished this hotel will look and feel as a whole new place. The work will be divided into three separate projects. First we will see the closure of the East wing, after that the centre will be looked after and it all ends in the West wing and the pool area.

DNPB3The whole outside part of the building will be taken down. All panels you see now will be removed and replaced. Everything will be double layered to give the hotel the best possible insulation. Like this costs can be saved when regulating the hotels heating depending on the weather conditions in this sometimes cold part of Europe. While this might not be that visual to guests, other changes will. Colour scheme will be close to the one we know from the hotel, but there will be some more blue added into the facade’s look, taking away a little of that grey feeling it has now.

DNPB4The rooms look amazing. A couple of mock up room have been installed and they give a clear view of what to expect. The colour are still related to the maritime atmosphere, but have again been notched up a little. White and blue are still there but some warmer colours are thrown into the mix. Especially inside the executive room where more browns are added to the mix. For example the beds in the regular room will remain white while the upscale rooms will have the brown frames. On top of the walls, borders with Disney themes will be added. You’ll see Captain Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto in some artwork being their silly selves.

The hotel will also get another and new breakfast place to take care of the big traffic that needs to go through during the busy morning and just like Sequoia Lodge a special upscale club will be added for those that want some extra quality and quiet time.

DNPB5The project is a massive undertaking and will take a while to finish and might put some strain on the bookings as we are talking about a closure of 524 rooms in the first phase, just over 150 rooms in the second phase and 419 rooms in the last phase. These are big numbers that need to be placed in other locations during the refurbishment. So if this hotel is high on your list and you will visit the resort during fall you better book now. (But be aware that works are going on).

Make sure to visit us again tomorrow to look at the rest of the hotels in part three, the Future.
