Disneyland has started testing the new “Disney Dreams” Show, the show especially created for the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, inside the park. The test includes the show, that will be projected on the castle, and the new music. It’s not know if all show elements are already included in this first test phase, but one can expect if not all elements are there yet more and more to be added until the full show can take place.
Those test are taking place during afterhours with no general public in the park, but if you are staying at the Disneyland hotel the coming months you might see a little more of the magic before the premiere.
Especially those staying at the Castle Club level will be able to see a little early “Disney Dreams” magic. The show itself will be part of the new Disneyland Paris programme that will officially start as from April 1st. The night time show “Disney Dreams” will be filled with Disney characters that are being projected on the castle. But that’s only the beginning of what looks like an amazing display of Disney magic. There will be tons of other projections on the castle and on water screens in front of it. There will be water fountains and fire, an amazing new music score and a collection of other surprises.
Disney is starting to share some official information about the show via a new video they posted on the web. Here you’ll see the Imagineers, including Steven Davison (creator of Disneyland’s World of Color in Anaheim), whom worked on the show talking about what to expect. The video already shows some of the projections, including a scene with Peter Pan (what is rumoured to be the opening scene), pyrotechnics, fire effects, water fountains and even a short Mickey Mouse teaser. A very nice preview for those fans that can’t wait.
Also in the video is some information about the new “Disney Magic on Parade!” Disneyland Resort will get. The new floats include a Castle float, horse carriages with princesses and a fantastic looking final float celebrating the 20 years of Disney magic in Paris. There are also some pictures included in the video with the Disney characters and their new costumes they will wear during the festivities. They are very colourful and look like fun, especially Goofy’s green outfit can’t be missed.
Only a couple of months left before we can enjoy this amazing looking show for Disneyland Paris 20th anniversary celebration. Not to be missed!Â

As the upcoming Disney Magical Moments Festival is prepared the popular Disney Character Express has been retired already as it will be transformed into the new experience of the ”Disney Dance Express” (click here for a video of a complete preview performance). However, as the meet’n'greets with the Disney Characters on Central Plaza are always very popular a temporary replacement is now filling the gap between the Disney Character Express and the Disney Dance Express: the Disney Character Calvacade! April 126 will see the official start of the Disney Magical Moments festival at Disneyland Paris to last till early 2012. The festival includes two new entertainment offerings: the Disney Dance Express and Mickey’s Magical Celebration.
The Disney Dance Express replaces the Disney Character Express and is scheduled to be presented about 3 times daily during the morning hours. It will feature Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, Chip and Dale together with a dance crew. The train of the former Disney Character Express will transport the whole group to Central Plaza where they will stop for a high energy dance performance inviting especially younger guests to join in.
Mickey’s Magical Celebration is the new stage show presented on the Central Plaza stage. However, different from the Disney Showtime Spectacular (presented on the same stage during 2010) it is currently planed to present the new show only once per day to close of the day. The show features Mickey (for the second half of the show wearing his sorcerer’s apprentice costume), the Fairy Godmother, the Genie (for the first time ever at Disneyland Paris as a face character), Merlin and the Disney Princesses with their Princes: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana and – for the first time at Disneyland Paris with her fellow Disney Princesses – Rapuncel with Flinn.
Past Thursday, March 25th, the Disneyland Park hosted a preview of both the Disney Dance Express and Mickey’s Magical Celebration for guests of an (upcharge) after-hour event in the park. YouTube user stitch59000Â was on hand for both performances and uploaded complete videos of both performances to YouTube … if you are interested both have been embedded below the jump – however, if you don’t want to see the performance before your visit to the park … just don’t click! Saturday saw the official return of the Fantillusion parade to the streets of the Disneyland Park as well as the Enchanted fireworks to the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle. The two nighttime spectaculars are once again presented nightly till August 29th as part of the summer magic at Disneyland Paris. As usual both offerings received some tweaking. In the case of the popular Enchanted fireworks returning for its third summer season the tweaking concerns the actual fireworks and is rather subtle. So let’s take a look at the latest changes to Fantillusion…Â (more…)
Over the years the various entertainment offerings in both theme parks at Disneyland Paris have been closely scrutinized by fans, a considerable group of whom in the recent years became more and more vocal. Subject of the criticism were in particular the limited amount of entertainment offered outside high season, the sometime as stale or not popular enough perceived offerings and what can only be seen as waste of money by the entertainment team in the form of ordering the construction of a major stage on Central Plaza, when other stages sit mostly unused.
With the “New Generation Festival” starting in April 2010 for both theme parks and the heavy emphasize that the resort itself put on the entertainment offerings the rumor mills started turning fast again and then jumping into overdrive when suddenly reports about the pre-opening cancellation of a small happening planned for the Walt Disney Studios Park surfaced during the past weekend. Unfortunately that is not the only bad report / rumor coming out of the resort for the entertainment offerings … time for a “rumor sum up”! (more…)
Disney’s latest animated feature ”The Princess and the Frog” has been premiering in Europe at various dates depending on the countries with France still awaiting the premiere at January 27 (members of the resort’s Shareholders’ Club can still reserve up to three free tickets per member for an exclusive advance screening of the French version of the movie on January 23rd at the Studio Theatre inside the Walt Disney Studios, normally home of Cinemagique). To accomodate the interest and demands of the international guests from other European countries (and certainly overseas) Tiana and her prince as well as all their friends have already arrived at the resort. The grand finale of the daily entertainment in the Walt Disney Studios Park is “Disney Stars’n'Cars” – a calvacade of oldtimers decorated in style for Disney Characters rolling through the Animation Courtyard to the Production Courtyard Stage like a small parade, where the large cast of Disney Characters (including certainly the fab five, classic characters like Snow White but also modern characters such as Mulan or Sully) disembark for a revue style song and dance show before being available for photos and autographs (and finally heading the parade route back on board of their unique cars).
If there is one downside to the popular event it is that many first time guests line up along the parade route for the entrance of the characters and then have to follow the oldtimers to the stage, where they have to stand behind those guests, which reserved a good position to watch the 20 minute show performance. However, the entertainment crew have tried to solve this problem as good as they can. For one thing the characters not performing on stage in any given time are working the crowds on the sides and behind the stage. And then the entertainment crew is making use of the giant video screen on the facade of the Disney Channel Studios building! (more…)
Halloween is a crazy time in which the dark powers of the Disney Villains are stronger than ever – and allow them to play a trick or two on guests at Disneyland Paris during the popular Halloween Festival … and it seems the Wicked Queen from Snow White must have mustered special powers – maybe thanks to the recent release of her movie on Blu-Ray and DVD? Afterall, how else could she have managed to ride on the special Halloween pre-parade float in front of Disney’s Once Upon A Dream Parade transformed into the Witch as well as on the spectacular (regular) Disney Villains’ float (representing the “Dreams of Power”) in the same parade as elegant Wicked Queen??
On a sidenote: today’s performance of the parade was missing the “jungle” themed “Dreams of Adventure” float featuring the stars of Disney’s Jungle Book and The Lion King.
With the first children returnin to school and the days getting considerable shorter the end of summer is looming on the horizon. While Labor Day is still nearly two weeks off, the summer season at Disneyland Paris will come to an end coming Sunday. So this week is the last opportunity to enjoy the special summer entertainment schedule inlcuding the new show “Goofy’s Summer Camp”, the Disney Fantillusion nighttime spectacular and certainly the Enchanted Fireworks – not to mention the numerous street entertainment offerings and the prolonged opening hours.
However, the hours of the Disneyland Park have already been cut slightly back. Instead of closing officially at 11.00 pm (as in the prior weeks of the summer season), the park officially closes at 10.00 pm this week. However, guests are not going to loose out on much time in the parks - not only because many rides closed earlier throughout the summer anyway but because the resort came up with a new twist on operating hours!
