The Dining Capacity In Winter

The past busy summer season in both theme parks of Disneyland Paris saw the usual crowds descending on the restaurants during the core lunch and dinner hours. And even so the capacity in the table service restaurants of the Disneyland Park on most days was sufficient (and guests rarely had to be turned away), lines in the counter service and buffet locations were considerable and at times lengthy. In the Studios the influx as usually was handled by the numerous outdoor vending cars and in particular the seating in the La Terrasse area in front of the Tower of Terror. The Disneyland Park reacted not only by operating all restaurants with daily schedules for most of the summer but also by adding extra outdoor areas… (more…)

Last Chance Cafe Construction

Last Chance Cafe ConstructionThe Last Chance Cafe in Frontierland hasn’t been opened a lot. Doors stay closed most of the time with only periodic opening during the busy summer season. A couple of months ago work was being done inside the cafe, giving the impression it would reopen for normal business on a more regular basis. But the cafe remained closed as work moved from the inside area to the outside area. (more…)

Construction Update

Under ConstructionWith the official end of the summer season past Sunday the work crews have returned to the Disneyland Park in full force – after a 1 1/2 month break, considering that some projects started in late spring actually finished only during high season. So which projects are currently in progress?

On Main Street, U.S.A., not a single major project is underway – but painters are busy touching up the facades in various changing locations every day. Construction Work Last Chance CafeHowever, once guests turn into Frontierland they will encounter the first major project: The Last Chance Cafe – the only project that is already underway since early August. In the meantime the construction walls not only block access to the counter service restaurant and its terrace but have extended to also block of the planters that separate that terrace from the patio of the Lucky Nugget Saloon next doors. So far the signage of The Last Chance Cafe seems to have been taken off the building’s facade – but the real news are the wooden structures on the former terrace! (more…)

Summer ending – construction work ending?

Bridge from Skull Rock to PiratesThe summer season is coming to a close – Sunday is the official final day – and it seems with it the last visible construction / refurbishment projects in the Disneyland Park. At the latest counting three sites were still covered behind construction fences: parts of the ground around the Orbitron in Discoveryland, the bridge leading from Pirates of the Caribbean to Skull Rock in Adventureland and the Last Chance Cafe in Adventureland. Fast Food Adventures & Frontiers

Café de la BrousseEarlier this year the Café de la Brousse, a counter service location in African style huts offering only partialy covered outdoor seating along the shores of the lagoon in Adventureland, underwent an extensive rehab including a paint job and a new thatched roof – only to remain closed when the visible work was done. However, the past week saw the location finally open again!

Surprisingly the menu was kept pretty much unchanged even so the Café de la Brousse is now being presented by Dole (according to its own statement the world’s largest producer and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables), i.e. mostly Hot Dogs, pre-packaged ice cream, soft drinks and some desserts.
