Attraction Merchandise

We just recently reported about the on-going wave of new merchandise tying into the “New Generation Festival” hitting the shops of Disneyland Paris. However, following its new concept of adding new merchandise more or less constantly the resort is not only premiering items related to this year’s festival. In addition the resort has remembered a merchandise category of its very early years: attractions specific merchandise (that is: beyond pins and photo frames)! (more…)

The resort raced to the finish line of the past weekend with the last major rehab projects inside the Disneyland Park. We already talked about the Main Street, U.S.A., so lets venture on into the jungle of Adventureland to take a look which rehabs were still going strong in the past weeks. Even so Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril opened as scheduled in mid-June after a rehab the main walkway leading past Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Restaurant toward the temple’s excavation site remained closed. Crews scrambled to repair damages to the floor that the harsh freezing of the past winter had caused. The result was a maze of detour signs and congested walkways across Adventureland’s islands as access to the Indiana Jones coaster was limited to the small bridge leading from Adventure Isle to the far side of Adventureland. A step back in time…

Remember Euro DisneylandWant to make a step back in time – to the early days of Disneyland Paris, to the year in which the whole resort had the name “Euro Disneyland Paris”?
Lots of us already visited the Resort in its first years in 1992 – 1994.
Even though not as much additions have been made to the original Park since the first opening as most of us hoped, there have been significant developments to “our” Magic Kingdom.

Construction Update

Under ConstructionWith the official end of the summer season past Sunday the work crews have returned to the Disneyland Park in full force – after a 1 1/2 month break, considering that some projects started in late spring actually finished only during high season. So which projects are currently in progress?

On Main Street, U.S.A., not a single major project is underway – but painters are busy touching up the facades in various changing locations every day. Construction Work Last Chance CafeHowever, once guests turn into Frontierland they will encounter the first major project: The Last Chance Cafe – the only project that is already underway since early August. In the meantime the construction walls not only block access to the counter service restaurant and its terrace but have extended to also block of the planters that separate that terrace from the patio of the Lucky Nugget Saloon next doors. So far the signage of The Last Chance Cafe seems to have been taken off the building’s facade – but the real news are the wooden structures on the former terrace! (more…)
