On March 4th EuroDisney S.C.A. scheduled the Annual General Shareholder meeting where the shareholders will have the chance to listen to last years results and the future plans of the company. All shareholders are invited to visit the meeting as long as they have requested your admission card by showing proof of owning shares. How to do this is explained on the EuroDisney S.C.A Corporate site.
Those that want to combine a visit to the park will have a chance to book rooms at a lower rate during the days of the general meeting.

Even with a big money pit still to fill, and the difficult financial times so many are witnessing, EuroDisney S.C.A. revenue is growing as we can see in the first quarter of this fiscal year. The biggest growth is the Hotels and Disney Village revenue. Here EuroDisney S.C.A. Sees an increase of a wealthy 14%. This because of an increase of 5,6% in hotel occupancy and a 7% increase in average spending per room. This translates in more filled rooms with more guests that have spend more to stay as was the case in the previous year.
Park revenue has also gone up. Numbers aren’t that high but still positive. A 3% revenue increase compared to the previous year. This comes from a 2% increase in park spending per guests and the 1% increase in visitors. Visitors from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands have decreased, but extra visitors from France and Belgium made sure that this loss has been compensated into a positive number. (more…)

We already provided in-depth coverage of EuroDisney S.C.A.’s results for fiscal year 2010 on Wednesday – however, the finance world, i.e. analysts, and the general finance press have certainly taken a look as well… While many papers limited themselves to providing basically the facts only The Independent On Sunday today featured extensive by Christian Sylt who is covering the business side of Disneyland Paris / EuroDisney S.C.A. for years already. Under the tag line Losing the magic: How Euro Disney became a nightmare he not only looks at the results of fiscal year 2010 and analyzes them but also takes the history of the resort and in particular the ongoing impact of the huge amount of debt from the initial construction phase into account and scrutinizes it … and gets some surprising insight from external sources… (more…)

Today EuroDisney S.C.A. has released the results of the fiscal year 2010 which ended on September 30, 2010. Unfortunately the heading of this news sums up the results pretty well. However, a closer look reveals some interesting information which – in at least one case – may have a significant impact on the future of the resort. On first view the resort continued to improve its situation by reducing the net loss from 63 million Euro for the fiscal year 2009 to 45.2 million Euro for the fiscal year 2010. However, the positive impression of this number doesn’t hold up so well upon a closer look. (more…)

1987 to 2017 – that was the original period that the contractual partnership between the French state and EuroDisney S.C.A. was supposed to run. By the end of this period the resort should have featured three “parks” and in return EuroDisney S.C.A. would have received on a permanent basis all rights to the property. No longer… As was announced today EuroDisney S.C.A. has negotiated a prolongation of the contractual relationship with the French state until 2030 that is supposed to be signed today. (more…)

As also noted by Andrea during a visit to the resort earlier this week the resort continues its drive to get rid of the last few remaining references to the resorts and the parks original names “EuroDisneyland” and “EuroDisney Resort”. Afteralready repainting the carriages of the (Euro)Disneyland Railroad it seems the teams are now looking closer at the train stations themselves. Certainly structures as the Main Street Station contain so mainy references to the “Euro” element, all the way down to elemets actually built into the structure, that a full exchange can not be expected anytime soon. But the Frontierland Depot just got “cleared” off one of the more obvious references. (more…)

Want to make a step back in time – to the early days of Disneyland Paris, to the year in which the whole resort had the name “Euro Disneyland Paris”?
Lots of us already visited the Resort in its first years in 1992 – 1994.
Even though not as much additions have been made to the original Park since the first opening as most of us hoped, there have been significant developments to “our” Magic Kingdom.
