Christmas decoration at Town Square and Central Plaza

Sunday, November 6th, 2011

Directly after the Halloween evening started Disneyland Paris to install the last Christmas decorations.

Especially some shops at the Main Street, the Town Square with the large Christmas tree and the Central Plaza with the little winter wonderland needed a redesign after the Halloween season.

From the 2nd november the Disneyland Park guests could see the daily progress. One of the best points to observe for example the work at the Town Square was from the Disneyland Railroad station at the begin of the Main Street. The installations proceeded also during the days so that all changes have been finished in time before the weekend.

Christmas at Newport Bay Club

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Well know for its nautical theme, the Newport Bay Club is a favorite for Disney fans whom also have a soft spot for the sea, sand and sun. The nautical theme is very nicely adapted in the Christmas season, with lots of wonderful and fun decorations throughout the hotel. Wherever you look you will find decorations of miniature beach chairs, lighthouses, boats and life rings in the Christmas trees and other decorations. Colorful bows and Christmas ornaments make the Christmas decorations perfect for this fantastic hotel. The use of the nautical theme as Christmas decorations is perfect and make this place that little more special during the holiday season. (more…)

Christmas at Hotel Cheyenne

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Christmas decorations at the Cheyenne hotel have gone up and are keeping it in the cowboy theme. At the main entrance guest can already see some of the decorations that set the theme at the whole hotel. Green trees with woodworks and cowboy accessories like boots, lasso’s and woodwork and even shovels. All trees in and around the Cheyenne resort are decorated with these little fun items. The big tree can be found just inside the main building. Guest queue-ing to get their room keys will already have a first photo opportunity next to the big tree, making it a very warm and Christmassy welcome even before they can go and unpack.  (more…)

Sophisticated and stylish is something we expect from Disney’s Hotel New York and it translate very well in the Christmas decorations too. Nothing over the top, but just nice and simple Christmas decorations can be found in the main hall from this beautiful hotel.

Once guests enter the lobby they are drawn towards the beautiful tree at the rear of the hall leading toward Lake Disney. (more…)

Disney’s Enchanted Christmas at the Disneyland Park

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Christmas has started at the Disneyland Resort and we have already invited you on a preview of it in the Disneyland Hotel and shown you some of the Christmas merchandise. With the first Christmas weekend at the park behind us, let’s have a look and some of the Christmas magic inside the Disneyland Park.

It doesn’t take long before you can see Christmas has arrived inside the Disneyland Park. For those that arrived on the Friday could still see the green fence around the Christmas tree at the front of Main Street U.S.A., but once you entered the park as from Saturday the view became unrestricted as the fences where removed overnight. The big tree is the first thing you will notice, it is difficult to overlook as it stands as a giant piece just in front of Main Street. Around it you will find a lot of smaller trees covered with snow on a snowy platform. Just in front of the tree you will see Father Christmas sledge. Or should I say Father Goofy, as it is he who welcomes the children at Disneyland dressed up in the famous red Christmas suit. In the evening the tree is the centre piece for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony where Mickey Mouse will turn on the Christmas lights during a beautiful celebration. (more…)

Halloween has ended and a new holiday is already lurking around the corner. There is almost no gap between the two holidays! Shops jump from Halloween to Christmas before you know it. Holiday season is already finding its way on television, decorations already going up at Christmas fans’ homes and some have their Christmas shopping already completely done and ready. No difference at Disneyland Paris where the Halloween season came to an end Monday evening and preparations for the Christmas season (which started already weeks ago) are now in full swing. (more…)

Time for Main Street News (updated)

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

With the countdown to the official start of the summer officially finished since yesterday most (if not all) rehab projects of spring should have come to a closure as well. On Main Street, U.S.A. the scaffolding covering the complete Disney Clothiers building came down nearly two weeks ago and by now – if everything went as scheduled – the scaffolding at Town Square Photography should have come down as well which it unfortunately still has not done on Monday July 5. But on to change for which we actually have a photo… (more…)

Mickeys Magical Party Emporium decoration

Guests at the Disneyland Resort Paris this year can not escape the message … there is a party to celebrate … Mickey’s Magical Party. Posters featuring Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Pluto and special decorations are everywhere – on construction fences, special billboards, posters, hangers, in the Disney Hotels, the Disney Village, Fantasia Gardens and certainly in both theme parks. In particular the Main Street in the Disneyland Park has been decked out.

There are special decorations on the entrances to the Emporium, some more sutle some rather intrusive,  and certainly the special poles along the Main Street. As for the (more…)

Main Street, U.S.A. decorations

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Earlier we reported about the new decorations on the Sleeping Beauty Castle. However, another area was under close scrunity by fans for the decorations as well: Main Street, U.S.A. For the 15th Anniversary Celebrations the “light up columns”, placed as so called “chandeliers” originally only for the Christmas seasons, were kept in place year round. Instead of the crowns with little drawings of the Disney Princesses simple golden balls were topping them off. In addition the columns function as holders for posters extending toward the center of the Main Street featuring fyber optical effects with Lumiere and the 15th anniversary logo. As the fyber optical effects started to break down last fall the posters were replaced with simple prints illuminated by lights added to the bottom of each poster for the duration of the christmas season. Word was that the same, less break-down prone  lighting system was to be used for new posters during 2009 – as the columns were to be integrated into the Mickey’s Magical Party concept as well.
