The Sleeping Beauty Castle might be most prominent refurbishment going on right now. But as already reported, there are numerous additional rehabs currently in Fantasyland and certainly the rehab of Walt’s on the Main Street. But that is not the end of the list – and certainly the rehabs are not limited to the Disneyland Park, as the scaffolding at the lake facade of Disney’s Sequoia Lodge shows. Another refurbishment is currently starting just a few meters further up on the shores of Lake Disney. As seen in the photo by InsideDLParis work has started on the light house in front of Disney’s Newport Bay Club – finally, as it has been awaited by fans for a rather long time as the state of it had been detoriating for quite a while now.
There is also a sort of a rehab going on in the Walt Disney Studios Park. As can be seen in the second photo from Friday, April 29, crews have started cleaning the tent structure roofs of Studio 2 and 3 housing Cinemagique and Animagique. While these roof structures are not as obvious as something like the light house on the shores of Lake Disney or Sleeping Beauty Castle in the Disneyland Park they are still visible from inside the Walt Disney Studios Park for all guests and need just the same attention as other buildings.
The final new refurbishment for this report is found inside the Disneyland Park once again, to be more specific inside Adventureland. Here scaffolding has gone up over the last days around Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost.

… the outerspace of management that seems. As pointed out in a comment by Lars to our report that a cast member confirmed the return of “Captain EO” during a guided tour for guests in the Disneyland Park the DLRP Fan Blog has released a leaked internal “Management Flash” from Disneyland Paris confirming the return of “Captain EO”.
A closer look at the memo reveals some interesting details … first of all, different from the official announcement for Tokyo (as covered by the Mousekingdom Blog) or Anaheim the internal memo at Disneyland Paris does NOT mention that the return is only for a limited engagement – even so the general consensus among fans still is, that “Captain EO” will not stay for an unlimited time at Disneyland Paris. Then, just as at Tokyo Disney Resort the internal memo refers only to “Captain EO” and not to “Captain EO Tribute” as the attraction has been named at Disneyland Anaheim for its return there. But there is more in the memo…

As reported in mid-April the rumor mill has been running overtime and is beyond just “hot” in regard to a pending closure of “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” (short: HISTA) and the Imagination Institute in Disneyland’s Discoveryland in early May to prepare for a return of Michael Jackson in the 3D Space-Movie “Captain EO” that occupied the same spot in the early years of Disneyland Paris, when the theater was still called “Cinemagique”. However, so far the resort has NOT officially released any press release or advertising material confirming this move. However, … (more…)

The Captain EO 3D movie, staring Michael Jackson, is a true Disney classic attraction that has been shown in the Disney parks during the 80s and 90s. Also at Disneyland Paris it has been a successful attraction, but it had to give way for the Honey I shrunk the Audience attraction. When Michael Jackson died on June 25th 2009 the Captain EO regained massive popularity on the world wide web and it didn’t take long for the Disney officials to revive the attraction in Disneyland thereafter as the Captain EO Tribute attraction which opened this spring. But what about the other parks it originally played in? (more…)

After yesterday’s (in the meantime twice updated) look at the rumors regarding the entertainment in the Disneyland Park for the upcoming months, today it’s time to look at the second theme park at Disneyland Paris: the Walt Disney Studios Park. First the good news: all of the major entertainment offerings will continue – but then it was never doubted that Animagique, CinéMagique, Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! (only added in 2009), Stitch Live! or Motors … Action! Stunt Show Spectacular would continue. Sure the number of performances are tweaked every now and then (in particular for the stunt show) depending on the season but those shows are among the landmark attractions of the theme park for certain groups of guests. However, the offering of additional entertainment on the streets of the park as well as on the Production Courtyard stage is something different … (more…)

Even so Disneyland Paris does release soundtrack CDs from both of its theme parks more or less regularly – more frequently than the US resorts of Disney – unfortunately Vasile Sirli despite repeated requests of fans continues to ignore the huge demand for music from the attractions. Instead he continues to release nearly exclusively music from the various entertainment offerings (even so this means that CD releases are outdated rather fast) and keeps a comparable large market untapped. But every now and then the fans of Disneyland Paris get the opportunity to get their hands on official releases of music from the parks’ attractions despite this…
Bruce Broughton’s scores for Disneyland Paris frequently are among the top soundtracks requested by fans – after all these (more…)
