Just one respectively two days ago we summed up the rumors regarding the entertainment offerings at the Disneyland Park and at the Walt Disney Studios Park coming to the conclusion that the range might be rather limited despite the “New Generation Festival” starting in April – in particular since one announced happening in the studios, “Monsters Inc. Scream Academy”, is rumored to have been cancelled prior to its premier (despite its cast having already been assigned) and the fact that it is still not confirmed whether the rumored show “Disney Showtime Spectacular” (replacing “It’s Party Time … with Mickey and Friends” on the Central Plaza Stage) in the Disneyland Park will be performed multiple times throughout the day or just once in the evening. However, now we learned that TODAY an open casting is conducted by Disneyland Paris for an all new show in a dance studio in Pantin! (more…)

Party to get extended
Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
The resort extended its 15th anniversary celebrations for a second year so guests should have been prepared that this year’s “Magical Party” promotion might receive an extension as well … and at least one element of the promotion has now been confirmed to receive an extension: the event’s center piece, the show “It’s Party Time… with Mickey and Friends” on the huge stage constructed specifically for this show in Central Plaza.
While the show was originally confirmed only to be performed till the end of the winter season 2009/10 the resort’s official casting website now posted new audition dates for September 15 and 16 (10.00 am till 2:30 pm on each day, call back on September 18) in Paris for dancers in the show “It’s Party Time… with Mickey and Friends” … with a contract from the end of October 2009 till the end of August 2o10!! Based on this casting note the show should be on till the end of the summer season 2010 – and maybe even longer. For those interested: the wage is EUR 102.54 per day (gross) for rehearsal and show dates – more details on the official casting call.
The extension of the show’s run comes as a surprise to many fans of the resort considering that even on busy days the crowds assembling around the stage for the performances do by far not fill the Central Plaza, guests often bypass the show or leave during the performance and the desperate attempts of the great, hard working cast to convince guests to dance along regularly fail (not the least due to the lack of atmosphere on the wide open Central Plaza in which the guests stand far apart most of the time and the complicated dance along choreography).
Fewer open positions at DLRP
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
In the past months the Disneyland Resort Paris has sent cast members all over Europe (most recently the UK) to find new cast members for the summer season starting today – traditionally one of the busiest parts of the year. With this job done the casting department is now turning to the next two major seasons of the resort: Halloween and Christmas. In the past years both seasons have become more and more important for the resort with major guests numbers in both parks and the hotels during the festivities. Especially dates such as the actual Halloween night and New Year’s Eve see the Disney hotels booking up early in advance. So from June 27th till July 1st the casting department is on a bus tour through the regions of Nord-Pas de Calais and Wallonie looking for potential cast members for the Halloween and Christmas seasons interested in working in the various service positions (in the parks as well as the Disney hotels) offered in the resort.
In itself this is a news that can be expected from the resort – however, the according press release includes one interesting statement: (more…)
