1987 to 2017 – that was the original period that the contractual partnership between the French state and EuroDisney S.C.A. was supposed to run. As we reported repeatedly Disneyland Paris continues to diversify the range of food offered throughout the resort. On could wonder whether this policy might have been combined with a “future” project from the resort’s past – the Nature Villages. Nothing much has been said or rumored regarding those most recently. But original plans called for them to be build next to the Davy Crockett Ranch (which at a time was considered to become a part of them). Welcome to your room

Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is catching up with non-Disney Hotels in so far as the in-room TV system is concerned. Gone are the old “tube” TVs. Their place has been taken by sleek new flat screens. 
In addition the new TV sets have been connected to a LAN network box also placed inside the TV cupboard. It needs to be awaited which interactive services might be implemented via this system in the future (options could be e.g. internet on the TV, restaurant reservation systems etc.). …[more] »

Toy Story Playland at Night Video

Attendees of the event were among the first guests that were able to experience the lighting design of Imagineering for the new area of the Walt Disney Studios Park. The dreaded line…

For most female guests in any public space a line for an attraction is very often only half as bad as that really dreaded line … the line at the toilettes. Even on busy days the Disneyland Park rarely features these lines thanks to numerous rest room facilities that were placed across all lands. The Walt Disney Studios had a bit of a problem with this when it opened but solved it early on by adding the facilities next to the exit / shop of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror even prior the start of the construction for the tower.
However, when the Toy Story Playland was announced without any additional rest room facilities fans were (mildly said) surprised since the whole Toon Studio already had no dedicated rest room facilities. Now that the new area is in regular operation and has turned out to attract large crowds it becomes obvious that addition rest room facilities would not only have been a good idea but are direly needed. …[more] »
From one (food) frontier to the next
September 7th, 2010 by DirkYesterday we reported about the “Hot Chili Sandwich” pushing the frontiers of food in the wild wild west of Frontierland. But these chili sandwiches sure are a high-flying bunch … 
it seems one frontier is not enough for them so they have boarded the rockets to push the frontiers of food in the deep space as well.
Ok – what this means is: the hot chili sandwichs have also been added to the menu at the Rocket Cafe in Discoveryland. This snack location is placed behind Space Mountain, opposite of Star Tours, Star Traders and Captain EO.
RC Racer – the “bag question”

The ride vehicle of RC Racer featured small boxes in front of the guests to store small bags, purses, cameras etc. for the duration of the ride. There was even a “test” box early in the queue area for guests to make sure that their bags would fit into this on-board storage. However, during the AP previews those on-board boxed had been closed and could not be used. This past weekend the boxes suddenly had disappeared, i.e. had been dismounted from the ride vehicle. The immediate impact is additional leg-room for guests on board. Already in the past weeks the cast member in the station on the exit-site was taking backpacks and similar items off the guests and storing them in an enclosed rack next to the station’s exit gate.
BTW: at Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop several boxes and barrels have been stacked up next to each parachute. These function as enclosed storage areas for the bags of riders on the according parachute since the parachutes themselves do not have any storage for backpacks etc. However, guests are allowed to take cameras onto their ride to take aerial photos of the area.
The Earl’s Construction (UPDATED)

New Frontiers of Food

One of the most popular snacks in Disneyland parks around the world is Popcorn. Following the trend set in particular by the Disney parks in Japan and the US Disneyland Paris is for a while now already experimenting with unique popcorn flavors. The latest addition is the “Gingerbread” flavor available at the popcorn cart located next to the Lucky Nugget Lane in Thunder Mesa – i.e. in Frontierland, between the fort at the land’s main entrance and the riverboat landing.
