Friday, December 31st, 2010

If you are lucky and will be at Disneyland Paris for tonight you basically got three main Options how to celebrate: each of the two theme parks (option a & b) or in the Disney Hotels respective the Disney Village combined with fireworks over Lake Disney. We already told you about the latter option c yesterday, so on to a) and b)!

The Disneyland Park traditionally is the most busy option of the three as fans & first time guests alike love to ring in the New Year with fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle. As in the past years the soundtrack will be a slightly adjusted (ie shortened) version of the popular (more…)

MORE New Year’s Eve Fireworks

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Want to ring in 2011 with a Disney fireworks display – but without braving the crowds at Disneyland Park or the Walt Disney Studios?

A new option has just been added for you at Disneyland Paris! And it is even free of charge!! After the huge success of the Guy Fawkes fireworks display on Lake Disney this fall the resort has added a New Year’s Fireworks display at Lake Disney. As we are typing this (noon, December 30) banners advertising the display are added to the lampposts around the lake. In addition flyers also indicating the best viewing areas (in front of Disney’s Hotel New York, Sequoia Losge and Newport Bay Club) are advertising it. Amongst others one flyer has been placed in each hotel room. (more…)

No Organ at Disney & Co.?

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

When Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 the park featured three prominently placed organs – one at the railroad station on Main Street, U.S.A., one inside the Disney & Co. shop on Main Street, U.S.A. and finally the huge organ at the center of the Carousel de Lancelot. The latter was a historic organ that had been meticulously restored and played the music live that underscored the guests’ journey on the carousel. In the meantime the inner working mechanisms of the organ are gone and instead a prerecorded loop of organ music is used. And now more bad news is rumored for fans of organs at Disney theme parks… (more…)

Get Tangeled at Disneyland Paris

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

“Disney Tangled” – the 50th full length animated classic by the Walt Disney Studios – has made its big screen debut around Europe and as usual it has made its debut at Disneyland Paris as well. I.e. Rapunzel and Flynn are available for meet’n'greets at the Royal Castle Stage daily since the start of the Christmas season. Certainly the resort did also welcome the latest characters into the resort’s shops… (more…)

World of Disney Store – Construction Progress

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Despite the cold and snowy weather construction work for the upcoming World of Disney Store continues. The store will be the new face of the Disney Village for guests approaching it from the main parking lot or the two theme parks. However, so far most of the work is still of preparational measure, even so a large crane could be spotted at the site just before Christmas.  (more…)

Earl of Sandwich grows

Monday, December 27th, 2010

During spring, summer and fall the ground for the latest addition of the Disney Village was prepared – but now during the cold, snowy season finally the vertical construction has started and can be spotted across the construction fences in place since early 2010.

Currently the concrete rear walls facing toward the Rainforest Cafe are being put in place and have already reached the height of the second floor. The front walls facing toward the Lake Disney will feature hughe glass windows which should provide for a great view on the lake – including the annual Guy Fawkes fireworks.

Secret Mission: Disneyland Paris

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Are you ready for your top secret mission at Disneyland Paris and become a real spy at Spy camp? Then this is the event for you!

The UK company Spy Games ltd is organizing the event at the Paris theme parks. Kids from 8 to 16 year will be able to participate in this event where they’ll turn into a spy just like James Bond or Spy Kids while they go on an adventure at Disneyland Paris. There will be two phases. First a training in the morning and once the kids brought their first training to a good end they’ll shift to the advance training in the afternoon.

Kids will learn spy skills and will be able to put themselves to the test in special challenges including code-breaking, surveillance, combat zone and even dodging laser alarms. Trainee agents that fulfill the course successfully will be recognized during a special ceremony. Once that is over you’re ready for the real field work at one of the secret agencies in and around the world. (more…)

The Real Snow

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

Snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A., snowmen at Woody’s Round-Up, a snow covered village in Fantasyland, a Winter Wonderland at the Chaparral Theater, ice skating in front of Disney’s Hotel New York – the magic and wonders of a white winter are a regular part of the annual Christmas season at Disneyland Paris. Still, all of this is controlled Disney magic. Several times per winter season the real stuff is sprinkled over the resort adding a unique natural magic to the sights and wonders of the resort, when the Sleeping Beauty Castle suddenly wears a white cover, when children start making snowmen in front of Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, when the jungle of Adventureland suddenly sports a white coat…

However, never since 1992 has a snow storm hit the resort with such strength as during the past week. (more…)
