With the statue of Buzz Lightyear at the front entrance to the Toy Story Playland already proudly looking over the construction fence and attracting the attention of guests in the Toon Studios area of the Walt Disney Studios one could have expected that there wouldn’t be much more progress to report for a while. It is hard to spot in the background behind Buzz, but take a closelook at the track of RC Racer … Yes, there is something on it! The second shot from a different perspective, taken from further to the left when walking along the construction fence toward the Backlot Tram Tour station, shows it really clearly … The testing of the RC Racer attraction, the prime thrill attraction for teenagers and adults in the new area, is happening more and more often. Visible here is the ride’s race car going up the vertical segment of the track – certainly without guests. The operational tests can be expected to continue on and off during normal park hours during the coming weeks even so any soft openings (if at all) shouldn’t be expected before August.
