The bare facade of the Gaumont multiplex cinema to the right of the main entrance as seen from the entrance to Fantasia Gardens used to be hidden by several large trees that were planted in the separation area between the Disney Village grounds and the walkway leading to the entrance of the studios and the future second street of the village once the next expansion place is realized. However, in early May the trees disappeared one by one. Current (unconfirmed) reports indicate that this may be the first step to prepare the area for the construction of the new World of Disney store.
But what happened to the the trees? After all they had been growing to a respectable size over years and actually (if bought in such size) would come with an impressive price tag…
The answer: they were moved to the grounds of Disney’s Sequoia Lodge to add to the national park themed lush gardens already sporting an impressive collection not only of sequoias that had been growing since 1992.
Some of the trees were added around the parking lot, next to the main entrance road. However, the more obvious additions are to the two groups of sequoias on the big lawn between the main building and the promenade around Lake Disney. These two groups had taken a toll in the recent years as not all the trees here were in perfect conditions anymore.

Speaking of this lawn area: during mid-May the walkway to the left side of the lawn (when facing toward the hotel’s main building) underwent a repaving. During this procedure both restaurants of the hotel added huge posters of their menu to the construction walls facing the lake promenade.
