New Food

As reported the Pizza Planet restaurant in Discoveryland has been transformed from a founder service location into an all-you-can-eat buffet. As guests pay when entering the counter area before getting access to the seating area and can at all times return to the counters for extra-helpings unfortunately with the introduction of the parks’ cheapest all-you-can-eat buffet access to the indoor playground of e restaurant has been limited to paying patrons. But that is not the only change that came with the already popular new offering … gone is also e option to drop by the restaurant to grab the restaurant’s unique “pizza burger” available nowhere else in the restaurant. But fans of unique fast food creations should not despair for a new, unique offering has been added to another menu in Disneyland…

All they need to do is head over into Adventureland to the Cafe de la Brousse counter service. After a lengthy rehab of it’s exterior last year this snack location for a first time in many years finally seems to be open on a more regular basis again (at least on busy days such as weekends). And despite it being sponsored by Dole (the fruit company) it offers the resort’s latest, unique fast food creation: a hot dog style sandwich with two sausages and fries. The unique element. The two sausages are placed in the bun as for a hot dog and the fries are stuffed around them into the bun as well!

After updating the menus of the counter service restaurants over the last year to increase variety, set the restaurants further apart by their offerings, give guests more choice and integrate the food better with the themeing it seems the resort is now taking a closer look at the offerings at the snack locations to execute a similar concept. Besides the new offering at Cafe de la Brousse another snack location with a new offering is the themed cart in front of Pinocchio in Fantasyland. The cart from the travel show of Stromboli for years used to sell Pretzel but now also offers Pretzels backed with ham and cheese.

And finally there is even an all new “snack” location: Main Street Ice Cream. It offers a small selection of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and is located in front of Plaza Gardens in the former outdoor seating area? Last year te restaurant offered drinks and small snacks to guests seated on the tables inthis area, similar to the offerings in the small courtyard of Auberge d’Cendrillon.
