With the longer days and the warmer temperatures a new generation of menus has arrived in the upscale table service restaurants in Disneyland Paris, as they have rolled out their updated summer menus over the recent weeks.
For example the California Grill at the Disneyland Hotel (the resort’s premier table service location) has carefully mixed some of its most beloved offers with a selection of new, light summer fare including e.g. the cool ”lemon grass sorbet” in one starter. At the same time the restaurant successfully continues its recent drive to improve quality and selection once again after letting it slip in late 2009. (more…)

While Buzz, Woody and their friends Slinky and RC Racer are not yet ready to welcome guests to the Toy Story Playland in the Walt Disney Studios (see our latest reports about the construction progress and the official opening date) they are getting out in force all over the resort anyway. As some of the central characters of this year’s “New Generation Festival” they are certainly prominently featuring on all new merchandise and are also even more frequently than usual greeting guests in both parks. However, with the immanent release of the all new “Toy Story 3″ (in 3D!) to the cinemas all over Europe their presence in the resort’s shops has been increased another notch.

Following yesterday’s report about the arrival of the giant statue of Buzz Lightyear at the front entrance to Toy Story Playland in the Walt Disney Studios we present now a series of four all new photos.
Guests are supposed to be able to walk around as well as under the statue of Buzz to enter into the new area. Also pre-opening word is that the statue, while not featuring any movement, is supposed to feature audio of some of the most famous lines of Buzz from the Toy Stories movies. However, none of the rumors and reports indicate which lines and which languages might have been chosen. (more…)

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show seems to continue to struggle to fill the vast arena on a nearly daily bases in the Disney Village. Despite having added “Mickey and friends” last year and the boosted advertising all throughout the resort special offers are popping up more and more often.
After special rates for cast members now a special rate for guests of the parks has been set up. As small DIN-A-4 “posters” in the windows of the ticket counters inform guests they can save up to 20 EUR with their theme park passport when buying tickets for the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show for the same day – a considerable savings that might upset quite a few Disney Hotel guests who are remainded to book tickets for the dinner show already when making their reservations for a Disney package.
Buffalo Bill’s Wild West dinner show has been presented nearly daily in the custom built arena in the Disney Village since the opening of the resort in 1992. While there were rumors about a potential replacement in 2000/1 (mentioning a potential Zorro theme for a follow-up show) the show was only tweaked over the years – so maybe it is time for a replacement to attract return visits from return guests of the resort ? The Toy Story Playland in the Walt Disney Studios seems to race toward the finish line faster and faster. Only last week the entrance sign at the area’s main entrance was spotted over the construction fence and now already the giant Buzz Lightyear statue has been put in place! The French forum of Disney Magic Interactive is featuring what might very well be the very first photo of the statue – which more than just peeks over the construction fence but looks just as tall as the entrance sign, if not even a bit taller … check it out! at Disneyland Paris! A new castle … from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! Certainly the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at the heart of the Disneyland Park has not been replaced or completely redesigned. However, during the long rehab of the extension of Fantasyland housing the charming boat ride “Les Pays de Contes de Fées” as well as the “childrens’ coaster” Casey, Jr. the castle from Disney’s Beauty and Beast sitting atop one of the higher hills in the area was completely rehabed. As reported earlier spring 2011 should see the opening of a new restaurant at the Disney Village: the first location of the Earl of Sandwich chain in Europe. The new restaurant will not take over any previously occupied spot. Instead a new two level building with indoor and outdoor seating will be constructed next to the Rainforest Cafe (roughly in the area that was occupied partially by the carousel till late 2009). Preparational work of the area started several weeks ago and the first progress is visible – so time for an update … (more…)

As has been discussed here repeatedly Disneyland Paris late this spring decided to replace the badly ageing, rather un-popular 4D movie “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” with a return of the former fan-favourite “Captain EO” – a 3D musical space extra-vaganza featuring Michael Jackson.
So several weeks into the attractions second run at Disneyland Paris it is time for a look at the results of this short-notice move. How is the experience for guests? Was it worth it for the resort? We take an in-depth-look in a special “Sunday afternoon” post… (more…)

Even after the French National Team has been eliminated from the Football World Cup – throwing France in more than just a sport crisits but almost into a political crisis - there is a large interest in the tournament among visitors of the whole resort. Especially as the final games of the first round are almost finished and it is getting closer to the K.O.-phase. Afterall there are many visitors in Disneyland Paris that come from other nations which are still taking part in the tournament.
