Toy Story Playland – Video Report – UPDATED!

dtvdavid1 posted a new video to youTube in his ongoing series of Disneyland Paris video podcasts / reports. At the center of the 3:19 min long report presented in English is a view of the current construction of the Toy Story Playland in the Walt Disney Studios. The material is all new, shot past Saturday, April 24th only. And there is plenty of news to discover in the report (as embedded below)…

The first news can be seen in the first seconds in the far background: the big number “1″ at the top of the Studio 1 facade facing the Frontlot has reappeared from behind the scaffolding that was added lately. As other reports coming in indicate, the number and the surrounding area as visible once again now has all been freshly repainted.

However, the view over the dark blue construction fence in front of the future Toy Story Playland is what is really exciting … dtvdavid1 is able to show for the very first time what appears to be the final parachutes for the Army Men Parachute Drop. Dark green fabric with a camouflage design now covers the metal framework on the cables above the ride’s seats!

In addition the rather strong green color of the roofs above the queue line for the Green Army Men Parachute Drop also stands out from the construction site, in which basic ground work (such as for the future walkways) contains just as work on the various rides and support structures.

Toward the end of the report dtvdavid1 managed to get a shot of workers at the vertical segment of the track for the RC Racer. While not clearly visible what the two workers were doing there, we just received word that apparently now a grey metal structure has been spotted on the actual ride track, which could be the actual base for the ride vehicle (without any seating or themeing).

UPDATE: Disneygazette has released a photo showing the grey metal frame on the track of the RC Racer and it does look like it is the base for the actual ride vehicle. The French website also managed to get a photo of the parachutes also seen in the video and a hot of the army tower next to the ride which seems to have a Army Men figure already placed inside. Plus: there is a shot showing the newly repainted number “1″ on the facade of the Studio 1 as well.

However, back to the video report - why not take a look at the video report by dtvdavi1 from the past weekend and all the details it shows?

If you want, I can make some footage when I’m going to the resort on the 12th of May… I’m taking my videocam with me anyway…
