As reported in mid-April the rumor mill has been running overtime and is beyond just “hot” in regard to a pending closure of “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” (short: HISTA) and the Imagination Institute in Disneyland’s Discoveryland in early May to prepare for a return of Michael Jackson in the 3D Space-Movie “Captain EO” that occupied the same spot in the early years of Disneyland Paris, when the theater was still called “Cinemagique”. However, so far the resort has NOT officially released any press release or advertising material confirming this move. However, …
… DLP.info guest Picture Wendy took a guided tour of the Disneyland Park last week and the cast member conducting the tour openly informed guests during the tour segment in Discoveryland that HISTA would be replaced with the return of “Captain EO”. According to the guide of the tour guests who want to see the Inventor of the Year ceremony better rush into the Imagination Institute as it should close in May before Captain EO can touchdown with his space ship in July – which confirms the rough time frame from the original rumors as well.
“Captain EO” has already returned to the 3D-theater in Tomorrowland in the original Disneyland, Anaheim, where the movie originally premiered. Disneyland Paris would be the second Disney park worldwide only that would feature “Captain EO” again.

The return of Captain EO has in fact been confirmed internaly by the resort. A public press release will be issued this week. See the post om my blog for the confirmation (Dutch text; French and English announcements): http://dlrpfan.wordpress.com/2010/04/23/captain-eo-keert-toch-terug-naar-parijs/
