Monday, March 29th, 2010refurbishment on Disneyland Main Street U.S.A. facades is a very common occurrence. You’ll see a lot of the scaffolding on the buildings, especially during the low seasons. It is important that Main Street U.S.A. Looks its best as it is one of the first things guests see before their attention gets drawn to the wonderful Sleeping Beauty castle in the middle of the park.
Mentioning the Sleeping Beauty Castle, the main entrance and bridge are still completely blocked for refurbishment, so is the Disney Clothiers shop. The third refurbishment on the same âroadâ, and now also wrapped with scaffoldings, is the Town Square Photography shop in the front of Main Street U.S.A. The shop, located on the right hand side when entering the park, is open for business during the works.

The Jonas Brothers, members of a popular boyband in the Unites States, that constantly reoccurs in different Disney TV-Productions and has its own TV-Series on the Disney Channel, seem to be less popular in Europe than expected â at least among the visitors of Disneyland Paris.
All merchandise of the band, which recently was one of the glorious winners at the â30th Golden Raspberry Awardsâ â the most-famous anti-Oscars for outstanding bad performance -, that is sold at the Disney Villages âHollywood Picturesâ Shop has now been discounted by 40%.

New Generation Banners
Friday, March 26th, 2010
With April 2, 2010, the start date of Disneyland Parisâ “New Generation Festival”, one of the highlights for 2010, just about a week away, Disneyland Paris has started to put the first banners to promote the festivities in place.
The small banners on the pictures can be spotted in front of Disneyland Park and big banners have been placed on the front of the Disneyland Hotel over the Park entrance.
The New Generation Festival will be the motto for the resort starting with the summer season 2010. It will include new additions to parades and shows â with Disney characters from the new generation instead of focusing on the classic ones.
One of these will be Princess Tiana from the Oscar-nominated feature âThe Princess and the Frogâ, who will join âDisney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade” at Disneyland Park â and a Ratatouille Roadster with Remy inside will increase the fun at the Walt Disney Studios âStars ânâ Carsâ.
With the start of the New Generation Festival the âmodernâ Disney characters will also get a bigger share of the Meet nâ Greets throughout the resort and, among others, a new show will be introduced to the Central Plaza stage in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Disneyland Paris also promotes the opening of Toystory Playland in the Walt Disney Studios Park â scheduled fot the late summer 2010 â as being part of the New Generation Festival since the characters from the eponymous feature film, Toy Story, can be seen as the first from Disneyâs new generation.
Big Adventureland Detour
Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Hakuna Matata is closed and so is a big area surrounding the eatery. Big fences are set up in front of the small bridge coming from the Disneyland Park hub, through the Adventureland entrance, passing the two shops. The bridge can’t be crossed and guest will have to maneuver passed it, either via the right, direction the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction or via the small path on the left. Guests coming from the Pirates of the Caribbean area are now discovering this little pathway next to the Hakuna Matata restaurant.
While this path is almost never used during normal operations, it is now being discovered by those trying to g et to the other side of Adventureland or to Frontierland. This often forgotten pathway is now getting a little crowded, especially when guest find new photo spots they never found before and want to take advantage of it, blocking the path for the other guests.
When coming from the other side of Adventureland (from Indiana Jones) or from Frontierland you bump into a big green fence on that side of Hakuna Matata. Here guests can still cross the big bridge towards the rest of adventureland, but on their right hand side (when crossing towards to pirates area) the fence is also crossing the full length of the bridge. This to make sure guest will not see the works that are going on in front and around the area.
For those that are a little curious and want to know what is going one behind the fence can have a look at it when entering the small outdoor seating area on the left hand side from the restaurant. This area can be accessed from the, now very busy, small pathway connecting Adventureland and Frontierland.
The walls are low enough and no fencing can be placed here. If you find pleasure in seeing a hard working crew during your vacation, then is is the spot to be.
On the fence guests can find a note on Hakuna Matata closure and on alternative restaurants nearby.
Panoramagique Deflated
Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
It has become part of Disneyland Paris panoramic views, the big floating balloon at the far end of the Disney Village on Lake Disney. A balloon you could see from all over the resort, whenever you looked up into the sky, the Panoramagique balloon. This view will be gone from now one, at least for a period of time. Panoramagique is closed and the balloon has been deflated completely.
Guests who walked from their hotel to one of the park could see the balloon in the morning, but on their return had a whole different view, an emtpy platform in the Disney Lake. The Panoramagique platform looked bare without the big yellow, red and blue balloon.
It was a big team of people that worked a whole day to take it down. While they did this a camera was set up to tape the deflation of the balloon. No word on what they will use this footage for but most likely this will be for internal use only.
There was a note at the ticket counter stating the closure of the attraction for maintenance reason. There was no indication on the noteon how long the ride will be closed. The Panoramagique website has no information on when the attraction will open again.

BIG Toys
Friday, March 19th, 2010Â Toy Story Playland is going big, very big! Especially when it comes to Buzz Lightyear.
This oversized statue will be the star of the playground and will become a prime location for those family snapshots. New pictures on the web show you how big Buzz will be. Over at Theme Park Review a collection of pictures have emerged where you can see the full statue erect in the workplace. Also in this photo report is a picture of buzz in âsmallerâ parts. Just like a puzzle, it is lying around on the work floor and on some tables. It is an impressive sight, especially when you see a grown man posing in front of the finished Buzz. Can you recognize the man posing next to Buzz? Yes, it is John Lasseter.
The only thing missing on that picture is the colors on Buzz. This can be found on the next picture in this series. Buzz chest plate is carrying his well known color pallet.
But there is more to see. Scroll down and you’ll get to see some army men getting ready for battle. A first look at the Slinky Dog for the Slinky Dog Zig Zag Spin attraction and a big RC Racer car mold. Visit the Theme Park Review forum for all the pictures.
