Got Candy?

Yes – that will be the resounding answer of cast members at Star Traders in Discoveryland, Disneyland Park, as well as at the Walt Disney Studios Store on the Frontlot of the Walt Disney Studios Park.

While a couple of candy items had been added to the selection of the majority of shops and boutiques in both theme parks during the last years, this time we are talking about candy big time!

Both shops have recently added “Candy Powder” stations. These stations allow guests to choose a cleare tube in various length to fill themselves with candy powder in various colors and tastes from dispensers at the “Candy Powder” station creating their own personal mix.

The station at Star Traders is decorated fittingly for Discoveryland with Stitch and labeled as “Stitch Candy Powder”, while the station at the Walt Disney Studios Store is featuring Goofy but labeled only as “Candy Powder” (and not “Goofy Candy Powder” as one might have expected).

UPDATE: Side note: the same “candy powder” stations – certainly without the Disney character decoration – can also be found in selected shops of the German theme park “Europa Park”.

We had to try this stuff when we visited in Dec 09, it was lovely but made us slightly hyper! Also some of the flavours are unexpectedly sour and take your breath away! A good addition all the same :D
