California Grill Update

As reported earlier the Disney character buffet has moved into the rooms of the California Grill for the duration of the current rehab of its regular location, Innoventions. The California Grill was supposed to over a-la-carte dining during these times in the Founders’ Club upstairs. However, this offer has been surprisingly limited. In the comments to our original post Laura did let us know that at least during the upcoming weekend the operation of the California Grill in the Founders’ Club is on hiatus. Prompted by this post we looked further into the matter.

Apparently management has decided to offer the California Grill a-la-carte dining in the Founders’ Club only depending on expected demand, i.e. most probably depending on projected hotel occupancy and theme park attendance. As at least this week the occupancy at the Disney Hotels clearly reflects the off-season status (offering guests plenty of time to play uninterrupted with the Disney characters during the Meet’n'Greets in the hotels) it has been decided that at least this week the Founders’ Club will remain closed.

However, guests should check back with the Disneyland Paris Dining Reservation hotline respectively the concierge of their Disney Hotel or the cast members at City Hall or Studio Services. The initially planned offering is supposed to be reinstated depending on (projected / expected) demand, so it might be back on later during the rehab of Innoventions (which is supposed to last till February 4, 2010).
