Out with Old, In with the New

New Year’s is still a far thought for most alas the Walt Disney Studios Park has already replaced some of its older decorations with new material in a move to refresh the look for return guests and avoid a dated impression due to the various posters for long gone movies. Which ones? This time we are talking about selected large oversized movie posters on the two long sides of Studio 1 as well as selected posters on the lighting and sound poles lining the parade route on Production Courtyard and in the Backlot.

New movie posters added to the two long sides of Studios include Disney’s A Christmas Carol (currently in the theaters), The Princess and the Frog (also currently in theaters) as well as the two upcoming features Alice in Wonderland (by Tim Burton) and the much hyped “Prince of Persia” (which was also a hot topic over on the Mousekingdom Blog repeatedly). However, several of the prior posters remain, in particular facing toward the Animation Courtyard, e.g. the poster for Monsters, Inc.

New posters along the parade route include character posters for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland as well as posters announcing the new tv station “Disney XD”, which has been promoted on the big screen on the facade of the Disney Channel since early this summer and is also advertised with a huge poster right above the doors leading back into Studio 1 from inside the park. However, once again not all posters along the parade route have been replaced, retained were such posters as for the Pirates trilogy or the Hany Man series on Playhouse Disney.
