I must say that I do feel bad for the families on their vacation to the resort, but I think the thing that everyone forgets sometimes is that the individuals making dreams come true day in and day out are people too who get very little for doing a lot. They have families too that they need to provide for. Its easy to say go get a new career if you are not making enough or are upset with current things going on in the company, but if everybody that worked at Disney felt like that you’d be left with no experienced cast members working at the resorts only seasonal college interns and probably high school students that come and go. Jobs are hard to find these days so you have the right to fight or go against a company if you feel like you are being treated unfairly. Thats what the unions are for. Apparently it must have got pretty bad for them to feel the need to make such a statement. As a CM (cast member) in the states I can say that i’m a little dissatisfied(only a little its still a great company in my opinion) with some of the things i’ve seen and ways i’ve been treated and seen other CMs treated during my tenure, but not enough to leave. I only work there part-time anyways for those very reasons. I make more at my full time job and like it better anyways, but I enjoy the free admission lol. I’ve been asked to stay on a more full-time status and been asked if I was interested in getting back in leadership and I said “No thank you.” I don’t know why they walked out, but again it must have been pretty bad. Even if they did fire everyone those shows would still be down for a good amount of time so I don’t think that is the answer either(to michael) those shows don’t happen over night, those require countless rehersals and auditions, and finding people that can do different roles, remember the jobs on those roles, and be able to understand changes quickly. Hopefully they can work it out with the union reps if not it will only get worse and could possibly spread to other resorts if whatever they were upset about gets out and is anything like what may be going on here. Because I’m a former manager(internship) I chose not to join the union because like I said i’m not there enough to care about anything and if I ever felt like it was bad enough to strike I would just leave and to me it hasn’t got that bad and I feel like there is always a solution through dialouge, but I can’t say the same for someone that is full-time and disney is what they have done for years and their only source of income.

All of those people should be fired. It is fine if they want to protest something but to ruin unexpected guests day and then cheering and feeling thrilled about it is just as wrong as whatever they feel is being done wrong to them. Families save up their money and plan their trip to the resort for weeks and these disturbances are uncalled for.
good will be the day that unions fall for their abuse and mentality. They serve no purpose anymore and all they do is create problems and then steal from their members
