A visit to Adventure Isle these days presents fans with some interesting things to notice… It starts with the big wooden bridge leading from the main shores, between the Chalet de la Marionette and the Adventureland Bazaar, onto the island. Lately the wooden floor of the bridge had become more and more rough as time was taking its toll on the structure. However, instead of replacing the wooden planks one by one the resort decided to add a second layer on top of the original planks which provides guests a smooth, flat surface to walk on.
Unfortunately the resulting look of this is rather disappointing and stands out in the otherwise wonderfuly themed environment. At this point one can only hope that the decision was only temporary and the bridge will receive new planks soon enough.
The final sight worth noticing is the lagoon itself, surrounding Adventure Isle. Starting a week ago the water level was suddenly reduced and the upper part of the lagoon, visible only from the elevated viewing points on the two islands, was completely drained. Normaly water would flow from this upper part of the lagoon over a wide (but rather low) waterfall into the main lagoon. So far now construction or refurbishment is visible so it needs to be awaited why the upper level of the lagoon was drained. In addition the various waterfalls on Adventure Isle had been turned off as well, presumbly to help reduce the water level in the main lagoon.

The bridge looks terrible. But then again, so do most of the updates.
Why not put 1 an’ 1 together?
The drainage of the upper lagoon and Disney’s sudden interest for MACK’s water rides as mentioned by Alain Littaye here:

Oh what a dream… an Adventure-Isle-themed water ride for Paris’ Magic Kingdom in 2012.
I would prefer such a new, imaginative ride much over any kind of plain Splash Mountain copy.
so if someone has the money left… why not make it a little birthday present for EuroDisney SCA for the resorts 20th birthday ;-)
