Have you ever dreamed spending your time in a luxurious, waterfront hotel?
Well then â it is time to board the next clipper to Disney’s Newport Bay Club – according to Disneyland Parisâ own website a hotel where you are invited to âenjoy all the style and charm of the late 19th Century New England seaside, right on the waters of Lake Disneyâ.
Well, well, nice said ⌠but in reality right now Disney’s Newport Bay Club does not present itself to the visitors as charming as it should be according to Disneyâs promotion.
To be true, looking at the Newport Bay Club from the opposite shores of Lake Disney it more or less looks like a former First Class Hotel whose heyday has faded away a long time ago and not the âbeautiful homage to the golden age of yachting and seaside ambience” which Disney refers to.
It is definitely about time to swap the deck â meaning: to repaint the exterior and, for that matter, to also do some rehabs at the inside.

Save the Three Little Pigs!
Thursday, September 24th, 2009
It looks like Euro Disney SCA launched some actions to keep the Three Little Pigs safe from the swine flu â and of course the guests as well.
In some of the toilets guests now find instructions on how to increase the chance to avoid a swine flu infection by taking hygienic safety measures when using the parcs sanitary facilities.
The instructions â just printed out on plain paper and welded in plastic â are placed close to the toilets mirrors.
But lets all hope, that Practical Pig, Fiddler Pig and Fifer Pig are able read and understand French since the instruction tablets are only written in French and so far no translations haven been spotted.
At the dawn of a decade…
Thursday, September 24th, 2009Just like years pass by, so do whole decades, too.
The first decade of the ânewâ Millennium is almost over (though this is not mathematically correct, its how most of us feel) â btw: is there someone out there among you readers, who still remembers dlp.infoâs glorious Millenium Fan Meeting? â and the first signs of the dawn of a new decade may already be seen at Disneyland Paris.
At least in the shops where the first pieces of merchandising for 2010 have already been added to the selection of products as you can see on these pictures:
A Pool with No Water
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
As planned the pool at the Sequoia Lodge has been closed for some major work. The pool is completely drained of all its water and inside the big basin scaffolding is rising up. The biggest job will be adding new insulation inside the building. This will be done with special insulation materials delivered by the company Eurocoustic. This company specialises in acoustic insulation and will also improve the noise level inside the building.

For those guests that want to go for a swim during their visit can use an alternative pool in one of the other Disneyland Paris Hotels. A notification at the pool is making sure guests are aware of this possibility.
For more information on the other hotel pools and their opening times make sure to visit the concierge of the Sequoia Lodge first to avoid disappointment in case one of these would be closed too.
At The Exit
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009Scaffolding is being put up around the small building at the Disneyland Park right hand exit. It is expected the building will undergo some small restoration, a paint job and some clean up where needed.
These refurbishments are being done during most of the years on many of the parks buildings, mainly to make sure they keep their fresh and new look.
Just Outside New York
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009
We already mentioned the closure of the go-karts at the New York Hotel a little while ago. The Go-karts are rented out so children can have a little race around a set up track. The Track is laid out at the ice skate ring and is only open during the busy summer month season. With winter nearing, the go-karts are being put away.
The area has now been completely fenced off in preparation for the colder seasons. Some work is being done on the pavement that surrounds the inner ring. Work should not take too long and the area will most likely be re-opened before the busy winter time. Watch out for the popular ice skate ring to open soon after…

From One Promotion to the Next
Monday, September 21st, 2009
The summer promotion offers in the shop might have come to an end a couple of weeks ago but the next promotions have already been displayed since back then. This ânewâ promotion is valid for the rest of the September month with a lot of merchandise on offer in many of the different Disneyland shops. Some of the shops show so many red promotion cards it feels as if half of the shops goods are on sale.
Good for Disney bargain hunters or if you need to bring lots of present home for those that stayed behind.
The collection of articles reduced varies from small to big items. What stand out are the Mickey Magical Party items, they are all on the promotion shelves. However the products with the biggest discounts are the Go Green collection. This collection is being offered with a 40% off the regular price.
Picking something up from these shelves should give you a double good feeling. You save 40% and youâre doing some good for the environment.
The promotion end on the 1st of October, but could well be the day the next promotion takes over.Die Rabattaktion läuft bis zum 30.09.
Closed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Warning
Monday, September 21st, 2009
The Rock ânâ Roller Coaster at the Walt Disney Studios is a favourite attraction of many guests. Closing the roller coaster for rehab might disappoint many first time, as well as returning visitors. Disney has therefore put a warning note into place at the parks entrance as well as the ticket machines. Like this visitors can decide to change their Studios visit to another day and hop over to the Disneyland Park.
While many guest will be able to park hop from one gate to the other, those visiting only for the day could change their plans without having to enter the park first to encounter the disserted backlot area. The Studios has enough alternative rides, like the Tower of Terror or the Crushâs Coaster, but itâs still a nice gesture to warn those that didnât know about it prior to their visit.
The note reads: Dear Guests, We would like to inform you that âRock ânâ Roller Coaster in Backlot will close from 14 to 25 September 2009 inclusive. Please take this information into consideration when organising your visit. Thank you and have a wonderful day at Disneyland Paris.
