The facades for the Starbucks moving into the Disney Village is nearly finished. Seen here is the progress from a week ago. In the meantime the scaffolding has come down and has revealed a clear view of ”bread basket look” of the corner element as well as the reminder of the facade, that blends rather well into the the flight formed by its two neighbours, The Steakhouse and Billy Bob’s Country & Western Saloon. Next steps should be the installation of the doors / windows (on ground level) of whatever is going to be attached to the steal beams protruding from the facade as well as the installation of the signage. Please note that the upper level seating is not(!) part of Starbucks but of La Grange, the all you can eat buffet in Billy Bob’s.
However, the Starbucks is not only the progress to report from inside the Disney Village. The Resort continues its policy to improve the atmosphere and add incentives for guests to spend more time in the entertainment and shopping district. One of the recent moves is the new rental location for family bikes that is now found where the removed merry-go-round was standing till recently. Also the Disney shops have now joined Hollywood Planet shop and are placing selected merchandise in front of the shops. The Hollywood Pictures shop even set up a special area in which guests could test drive several remote control model cars on sale… Furthermore the Marriott Village sales booths have been removed – with the exception of the one next to Disney’s Hotel New York which at least so far seems to be used no longer. Not returned from the winter break so far have the up-charge children attraction placed in front of the gardens of Disney’s Hotel New York, which still offers the childrens’ quads race track where the ice skating rink is placed in the winter season. In the meantime the summer entertainment is slowly but surely returning to the Disney Village with the “Small Circus” performing already weekends and on holidays.
