Following the grand opening party for invited guests on Friday (see our report from Friday night) the new Starbucks Coffee location in the Disney Village is now open since yesterday in regular operation. The Starbucks in the Disney Village is located in the former Buffalo Trading Company, which was completely remodeled inside and outside. The new interior resembles the regular Starbucks’ style and architecture without any major references to Disney. It picks up several of the architectural elements that dominate the newly designed exterior facade, in particular the basket-style weaved wooden texture.
Due to the heigh ceiling and the fact that Starbucks decided to place comfy couches and armchairs only in two smaller areas of the coffee shop the atmosphere inside is rather modern, stylish and thanks to the windows, the lighting system and the wide open spaces a bit loft like. Indoor seating is offered on the ground floor only and mostly consists of several rectangular tables moved together to form a long table for a large group as well as several small (two or three person) round tables. The chairs in the main area are metal only with a distinguished designer look. Further in the back, under a large mural a cushioned bench is located on one wall while wooden chairs and tables offer additional seating. Even further in the rear of the shop guests will find another section, partially separated by a large window front, where special kid sized chairs and tables but also more adult sized seating is available, including armchairs inviting to relax and rest for a while. The two windows looking into the bar / pre-show area of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show arena have been retained. However, wooden blinds have been installed to limit the visual intrusion for guests inside the bar / pre-show area as they no longer look into a western themed shop. Also a second area, to the left of the counter, is offering seating in comfortable arm chairs inviting guests to spend a bit longer and relax. In addition Starbucks offers seating outside the building, where several tables and chairs have been lined up in front of the large windows.
While guests can see additional seating through a large window on the first floor, that seating is not part of the Starbucks location but of La Grange at Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon, an all-you-can eat dinner buffet location.
The new Starbucks location in the Disney Village offers the usual wide choice of coffee specialties that Starbucks is world famous for as well as an assortment of small snacks throughout the day. In addition selected assecoiries (such as mugs) but also “plush bearistas” (plush teddies dressed up as Starbucks baristas) are on sale.
To handle larger groups of guests more easily Starbucks has equipped the coffee house with its latest ordering system, which – if used as on the first day of regular operation – allows one staff member to take orders digitally from guests in line before the guest is actually at the cashier, transfer the order to the baristas for preparation as well as to the cashier, speeding up the ordering and serving process.
While Starbucks opened its doors officially on Saturday, June 20th, at 8.00 am currently the Disney Village guide map lists the coffee shop to open at 9.00 am on regular operating days. The guide map at this time does not list any closing times, presumably since the locations want to remain flexible depending on demand and certainly also the closing times of the theme parks – which would be especially true for Starbucks which has not yet any experience with business at the Disney Village.
See you during the next coffee break in Starbucks at the Disney Village!

Hi
Was at Disney Village on Friday night. Wasn’t sure if anyone could go into Starbucks or if was a private party. It was very busy. Now I know it was invited guests only, I’m glad that we didn’t wander in! Had a fantastic few days at Disney – as always!
Wow, thank you so much, It looks great :)
The opening of starbucks really irritates me as did the opening of the enormous mc donalds in disney village. I know disney is the mother of trans-national companies but its idealistic values always seemed to me to be upheld most firmly by the diversity and uniqueness of their shops/restaurants in the parks. This starbucks represents to me disney selling out on those entrepreneurial statements of individuality and instead opting for the road more travelled in the boring and all-consuming starbucks. When i used to visit the disney village as an eight year old i would be enthralled by the foriegn nature of the attractions e.g. the buffalo trading company which starbucks has replaced. Now strolling down it feels like taking a walk down any high-street with their greasy mac donalds and savvy starbucks. SELLOUTS.
I on holiday last July with my family, and found the lack of good coffee quite irritating, the coffee on offer in the resort was an instant, being a coffee roaster by trade, I would have expected better from Disney, however the opening of Starbucks is welcomed, but if I feel Disney should have had a shop of more a local ideal and not something you would find on any high street, could do a lot better.
Hello, I would like to contact you because I got double charged last sunday when I bought a cup.
Please I want to make a request to have the money back.
thank you
