The crews are rushing to finish the last scheduled rehabs inside the Disneyland Park (and also to a lesser extent in the Walt Disney Studios) before the official summer season commences in a couple of weeks. Currently the outdoor playground “La Plage des Pirates” in Adventureland is undergoing a sproucing up (till June 19) while the “Robinson Tree House” next door undergoes a major “all around” rehab since Monday and till June 26th (the first such extensive rehab for the popular walk through attraction). For the same time window the Flying Carpets over Agrabah (in the Walt Disney Studios Park) are also closed. Alice’s Curious Labyrinth which already underwent several smaller rehabs has three more scheduled for June 22nd to 26th and 29th to 30th as well as July 1st till 3rd, basically being reopened for the weekends - however, guests should note that even if open during the date of their visit, the labyrinth since this spring has limited operational hours, i.e. opens after the park and closes in early afternoon. But attractions aren’t the only objects of rehabs in the final weeks of spring…
Besides departments such as gardening that are always busy at DLRP to make sure the gardens shine in bright, blooming colors year round crews are also busy to rehab the exteriors of the first segment of the Storybook Store on Town Square as well as the complete exterior of the Plaza Gardens Restaurant at the top of the Main Street, U.S.A. The restaurant remains open during the exterior rehab, even so it is completely hidden behind scaffolding. But then – as has been established for a while at Disneyland Resort Paris -Â the scaffolding is covered itself by a printed canvas showing off the facade as it would look like without the rehab. However, guests dining in the Plaza Gardens Restaurant do not have this advantage and will have to forgoe the view into the restaurant’s gardens during the meal.
Another restaurant under rehab is the CafĂ© de la Brousse in Adventureland. The “restaurant” is located along the shores of the Adventureland lagoon / rivers, consisting of a central hut inspired by African architecture which housesthe “kitchen” and a sales window for various snacks, as well as several structures covering outdoor seating along the river. However, CafĂ© de la Brousse was opened only on selected, busy days in the past years, as guests tend to overlook it with access only possible through several winding pathways leading off the main path connection the Bazaar with the major parts of Adventureland and featuring only limited signage. For the current rehab not only the central hut of the restaurant but also various of the seating areas all the way down to the lagoon / rivers have been blocked off. Visible work in the past days included the removal of the thatching on the roofs.
