The Emporium

The Emporium is the largest gift shop in the park, situated on the first left hand corner as guests enter Main Street USA. Its prime position ensures it is popular throughout the day, but particularly in the evenings. Here guests can discover the largest selection of Disneyland Paris general theme park merchandise of any location in the park.

Brimming with details every aspect of the shop is beautifully designed, Dark wood shelving and plush carpets set the scene for the turn of the century store. In one area a large billboard promotes the store and its proprietor "Walt Disney" while in another an old style money system arranged along the roof carries the cash into the back room. There is even a intricately crafted stained glass domed ceiling which shines from above one of the service areas.

The Emporium Features in all 4 Magic Kingdoms around the world, although there are also many differences to other renditions of Main Street U.S.A.

Main Street Motors

Main Street Motors offers a good range of merchandise around a current film (which change periodically). Past themes have included 101 Dalmatians and Winnie the Pooh.

Towards the back of the shop a vintage car is on display on which (for a nominal charge) guests may have their picture taken.

Also situated here is the picture counter from which pictures that have been taken by Disney photographers throughout the park may be viewed (without obligation). If guests do have their photo taken by a Disney photographer during their visit they are presented with a ID ticket featuring a number which can be used to view their photo.

Bixby Bros.

Bixby Bros. is fitted out in fine wooden shelving and deep pile carpets which create the ambience of a high quality tailors. Specialising in men's accessories the shop displays a wide range of silk ties, Boxer shorts and waist coats featuring Disney characters.

A good range of Disney wrist watches are also available from the glass cabinets to add that finishing touch to any dapper gentleman's wardrobe.

Ribbons and Bows

Interconnecting with Bixby Bros., Ribbons and Bows is a small boutique specialising in clothing accessories, Merchandise include hats, Scarf's and bags.

One of the most unique items available here is a Disney badge engraved which can be engraved with a guests name as they wait.

Disney Clothiers

Offering the largest range of Disney clothing in the park Disney Clothiers is made up of several interconnecting rooms each offering attire for a different member of the family. The main entrance from Main Street USA leads to adult clothing whilst towards the back of the store there is a separate area for children's clothing, Another for bedtime wear and a smaller room dedicated to baby wear.

Clothing accessories are also available including silk ties, Boxer shorts, Hats, Hair accessories and a good selection of Disney wrist watches. The range of clothing changes seasonally but always features traditional Disney characters alongside clothing themed around Disney's most recent cinema release.

Boardwalk Candy Palace

The turn of the century Boardwalk Candy Palace offers one of the best selections of Disney confectionery in the park. Guests can choose from Disney Lolly pops featuring a picture of a favourite character to boxes of fine chocolates whose lids feature a picture of a memorable scene from a Disney feature film.

Towards the back of the shop the Boardwalk theme is continued with a model Ferris Wheel its carriages loaded with sweets.

Glass Fantasies

As guests wander through Liberty Arcade they pass by Glass Fantasies.

This small barrows is laden with many types of glass and crystal gifts most of which have a Disney theme. Around the barrow several glass cabinets offer a further selection of gifts including jewellery and ornamental figures.

Although specific merchandise changes constantly goods usually include crystal bells and plaques engraved with Disney pictures and fine wine glasses and tankards.

Glass Fantasies offers one of the best selections of decorative objects in the park, other locations specialising in similar items include Harringtons on Main Street and Merlin L'Enchanteur inside the castle.

Harrington's Fine China and Porcelains

Harrington's offers a wide selection of fine crafted gifts including glass, Ceramics and more. Upon entering guests will often find the glass artist at the torch where he creates models of Disney inspired gifts from rods of clear glass, Many examples of which are on display in cabinets in this area.

Passing further into the shop leads into a circular area which houses a beautiful domed glass illuminated ceiling. Around the walls are many ceramic figurines and gifts include mugs and plates.

Disneyana Collectibles

Passing towards the back of Harrington's leads into a part of the store which specialises in Disneyana. "Disneyana" is a word which relates to many of the highly collectable items which Disney produce for the collectors market.

Merchandise includes sericels which are reproductions of the hand inked celluloid's (or cels) which are used to produce a Disney animated film. Many of the original cels are now worth thousands of pounds whilst others were destroyed during the earlier days of the studio.

Also available here are a range of ornaments from the Walt Disney Classic Collection a series of fine, Hand painted porcelain figures capturing many of Disney's best loved characters.

Towards one corner of the store is the glass engraver, here guests can have their name and date of their trip engraved on a selection of glass goods including plaques and goblets.

The Storybook Store

Entering here guests soon discover there is more to The Storybook Store than just Storybooks. Tigger sits at the entrance acting as the librarian with a stamp in paw while up in the roof some other well known Disney characters can bee seen carefully arranging the books on high rows of shelves.

The wide selection of media products includes CDs ranging from those relating to music from the theme park to soundtracks from Disney feature films. A selection of videos includes Disney feature films and the official Disneyland Paris souvenir video featuring clips from rides to remind guests of their trip.

A good selection Disney storybooks as well as more specialist Disney books cover subjects ranging from Disney architecture to animation.

Tip.... Because different countries use different formats of video cassette guests should be sure to check that any video purchase is compatible with their countries video system, ask a cast member for more details.

Disney and Co.

This small town toy store features a carnival / fun fair theme. Amongst the rows of soft toys, Games, Stationary and souvenirs there are crazy hall of mirror style mirrors and at the centre of the store is a large musical contraption featuring pipes and drums.

Close to the main entrance is a model of Mickey Mouse dressed in his aviation gear as pilot of a hot air balloon, Floating away on a cloud of soft toys.

The shop links with both Liberty Arcade and Lilly's Boutique.

Lilly's Boutique

Main Street's newest shop is situated under Walt's restaurant. The first room features tableware including Disney theme plates and cups. A second room decorated as a old style country kitchen features a beautify tiled floor and offers a range of kitchenware and home accessories. The final room features everything guests could need to disneyfy their bathroom from bath robes to ceramic accessories.

Plaza West and East

Ideal for those last minute gifts Plaza West and East are situated under the Disneyland Hotel close to the exit. Here guests can grab any of those last minute gifts they had almost forgotten.

Town Square Photography

Back at the turn of the century photography was still in its early days and here at Town Square Photography customers could stock up on all the supplies they may need to produce that perfect family portrait.

Today the store offers everything guests may require to produce pictures of their day in the park from film to batteries. For those without a camera single use disposable cameras are available for purchase. Guests who just cant wait to see their results can take advantage of the stores express processing service.

Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts

Only at Disney could a barbers shop feature inside a theme park. Here guests can get an old style shave or maybe a quick trim before setting off for a day in the park (nominal Charge). The beautiful decor features dark wood counters and marble floors alongside gleaming instruments and razors.

Guests should book early however, as appointments are limited.

The Silhouette Artist

Working from a barrow in Discovery Arcade, The Silhouette Artist cuts intricate portraits of guests from black paper using tiny scissors. Silhouette portraits can be produced for a single person or group.

Ready cut silhouettes of Disney characters are also available which can be purchased alone or added to your own silhouette. All silhouettes can also be framed for an additional charge

Main Street Motors

Früher konnte man in diesem Geschäft einmal echte Autos kaufen, inzwischen ist es allerdings nur noch ein Geschäft, in dem Disney-Filme verkauft werden. Die Einrichtung erinnert noch an das alte Geschäft und zum Bummeln lohnt sich dieses Geschäft auf jeden Fall.

The Storybook Store

Dieses Geschäft, das am Town Square gelegen ist, verkauft alle Arten von Disney Filmen, CDs und Büchern. Außerdem werden hier Bilder und Poster aus den Disney-Filmen verkauft.

Früher gab es in diesem Geschäft auch einmal ein großes Spektrum von Büchern, die sich in allen Facetten mit dem Phänomen Disney allgemein beschäftigten. Leider ist dieses Sortiment inzwischen sehr stark geschrumpft. Füllte es früher einmal ein eine ganze Wand aus, so ist dieses Sortiment ernsthafter Bücher jetzt leider nur noch in eine Ecke gedrängt.

Wer nach Soundracks sucht, findet hier alle derzeit verfügbaren offiziellen Disney-Veröffentlichungen rund um den Park.

Plaza East Boutique, Plaza West Boutique

In diesen zwei Geschäften, die sich zur rechten und linken des Parkeingangs befinden werden alle Arten von Standard Disney Souvenirs verkauft.

Das Emporium ist das größte Geschäft im Park und bietet ein breites Sortiment an allen Disney-Artikeln an. Hier gibt es nahezu alles, was in den verschiedenen Geschäften des Parks verkauft wird.

Town Square Photography

Dieses Geschäft ist der Photographie gewidmet und dem entsprechend werden hier Filme, Einwegkameras und ähnliches verkauft. Auch das Entwickeln der Bilder vom DLP Urlaub ist hier möglich. Dies ist allerdings sehr teuer und man muß gleich zwei Abzüge von jedem Bild kaufen, warum ist mir auch nicht bekannt. Diafilme können hier nicht entwickelt werden.

Ribbons & Bows Hat Shop und Bixby Brothers Men's Accessoires

Sehr elegantes Geschäft, das Accessoires für Damen und Herren verkauft, von Halstüchern, Geldbeuteln, Krawatten, Socken und Hemden bis hin zu exklusiven Uhren aus der Disney Kollektion.

Disney Clothiers

Hier werden Kleidungsstücke für Damen, Herren und Kinder, sowie Accessoires verkauft. Auch Disney-Babymode befindet sich im Angebot.

Dapper Dan's Haircuts

Wer sich einmal stilecht rasieren lassen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. In diesem kleinen Barbiergeschäft kann man sich wie im Wilden Westen rasieren lassen, allerdings habe ich bisher noch nicht getestet, wie der Barbier reagiert, wenn man ihm einen Revolver an den Kopf hält, das Risiko war mir dann doch etwas zu groß ... <;o)

Die Preise sind hier auch sehr angemessen, für einen Haarschnitt oder eine Rasur zahlt man nur ungefähr 30 DM. Auch After Shave und verschiedene Parfums werden hier angeboten.

Ein Geschäft, das hauptsächlich Spielwaren und Disney Souvenirs feilbietet.

Harrington's Fine China & Porcellains

Dieser Shop läßt sich in zwei Teile unterteilen:

Glass Fantasies: Hier gibt es Glasbläserartikel in einer reichhaltigen Auswahl und auch dem Glasbläser kann man beim Herstellen der wunderschönen Stücke zusehen.

Disney Collectibles: Eine Fundgrube für echte Disney Fans! Das Angebot hier besteht aus Sammlerstücken aller Art, z.B. Uhren, Figuren, Bilder, Teller usw. Man muß hier nur darauf achten, nicht in den Sammelrausch zu verfallen, denn sonst ist das mühsam zusammen gesparte Urlaubsbudget erschöpft (...eigene Erfahrung....). Das Geschäft bietet außerdem Tischgedecke in verschiedenen Variationen an.

Silhouette Artist

Wer seinen eigenen Schattenriss zusammen mit dem einer Disney Figur auf einem Bild haben möchte sollte sich hierhin begeben. Es gibt einen Mann und eine Frau, die hier arbeiten und vor allem der Mann ist einer der freundlichsten Cast Member, den ich bisher im Park getroffen habe, immer wenn man ihn sieht hat er ein Lächeln im Gesicht.
