Close to the back of Fantasyland stands an old windmill which forms the centre of Le Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin.
The attractions look was inspired by Disney's classic short "The Old Mill" which won critical acclaim for the use of animation to bring to life a raging thunderstorm. The attraction however relies on simpler charms.
Suspended from the huge arms towards the back of the ride giant oversized buckets act as carriages forming a mini Ferris wheel.
The short ride gives guests a chance to see Fantasyland from the air, with views across the Storybook Land area and beyond. The journey is made even more magical during the evening when the whole of Fantasyland is lit in a glorious blaze of colour.

An mächtigen Armen hängend, fungieren übergroße Eimer als Gondeln dieses Mini-Riesenrades.
Die kurze Fahrt bietet ihren Gästen die Möglichkeit Fantasyland aus der Luft zu betrachten, wobei man einen besonders guten Blick auf das Storybook Land mit Casey Jr. und Le Pays des Contes des Fées hat. Besonders am Abend kommt die wahre Magie dieser Attraktion zur Geltung, wenn das ganze Fantasyland in den schönsten Lichtern und Farben erstrahlt.

Released in late 1937, "The Old Mill" was the first Disney cartoon that used the new multiplane camera, which was invented by Walt Disney himself.
The multiplane camera allowed the presentation of depth as well as camera movements in cartoons. In "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", the camera was used to film Snow Whites escape through the dark forest; in "Pinocchio" it allowed the beautiful view onto the small village and the impressive opening sequence of "Bambi" would also have been impossible without the multiplane camera.
"The Old Mill" was a very successful cartoon and earned two Academy Awards, one as "Best Cartoon" and the other one for the multiplane camera technology.

"Die alte Mühle" wurde Ende 1937 veröffentlicht und war der erste Disney Cartoon, der die neue Multiplane-Kamera benutze, welche von Walt Disney selbst erfunden worden war.
