Inspired by French country estates and
castles architects under the guidance of Disney Imagineering came up
with an impressive concept for the 400-room Parkhotel in Val de France.
As the concept drawings and sketches seen on the right indicate the
hotel will have a basic U-shape as often found in classic buildings with
an artistic garden located in the center of the U, which is open toward
the lake.
Besides the sketches presented on the right, the number of rooms and the fact that the hotel is going to carter mainly German speaking guests basically no information has been released as the opening is scheduled only for 2004. Inspiriert von französischen Landgütern
und Schlossanlagen haben Architekten unter der Anleitung von Disney
Imagineering ein beeindruckendes Konzept für das 400-Zimmer umfassende
Parkhotel im Val de France entwickelt. Wie die Zeichnungen am rechten
Bildschirmrand zeigen wird das Hotel in U-Form gehalten sein, wobei sich
im Zentrum des Us eine klassische Gartenanlage finden wird, die zum See
hin geöffnet ist.
Neben den Zeichnungen, der Zahl der Zimmer und der Tatsache, dass das Hotel den deutschsprachigen Markt bedienen soll, wurden noch keine Details veröffentlicht, auch da die Eröffnung erst 2004 ansteht. guests may want to keep in mind that this hotel is not operated by
Disney and caters mainly the German-speaking-market so the language of cast members
and the language used on all the signs will be German.
Don't forget that the Parkhotel is one of the "Disneyland Resort Paris Selected Hotels" which means that there is a free shuttle bus running between the hotel and the theme parks (and the Disney Village), even so parking at the hotel and on the main parking lot of the theme parks is free with the hotel identity card. Certainly the free package pick-up service which delivers your items frm the resort shops to your hotel is offered too. |

| The
Parkotel will be the last hotel to open of the four hotels that
compromise the first phase of the Val de France section - which is due to
the fact that the contracts for its construction were signed later than
for the other three hotels, even so its location right between the Explorers
Hotel and the hotel
operated by Holiday Inn had been decided upon already. Some of this
delay was due to the fact that there were two contenders to operate the
hotel: Thomas Cook and REWE. The two German companies are the exclusive
partners of the whole resort for Germany (with the exception of
1999/2000 when Jahn Reisen was offering the Disneyland Resort Paris too
in its brochures). In the end LTI was chosen as operator of the hotel,
which is a part of the REWE group, but both Thomas Cook (through their
company Neckermann Reisen) and REWE (through DerTour) will offer the hotel to
their guests in Germany, which is the main market for this hotel, which
is not ment to exclude Austrian guests certainly, as the two Austrian
companies UBM and WARIMPEX constructed the hotel under the control of Disney Imagineering which was involved in
the planning and designing of the richly themed hotel.

Das
Parkhotel wird als letztes der vier Hotels eröffnen, die die erste Phase
des Bereichs Val de France bilden - Ursache dafür ist die im Vergleich zu
den übrigen Hotels verspätete Vertragsunterzeichnung, obwohl die Lage
des Hotels zwischen dem Explorers Hotel
und dem von Holiday
Inn betriebenen Hotel bereits lange feststand. Ein Teil der
Verzögerung ist darauf zurückzuführen, dass zwei Betreiber zur Wahl
standen: Thomas Cook und REWE. Die beiden deutschen Konzerne sind die
exklusiven Partner des Resorts in Deutschland (mit Ausnahme der Jahre 1999
& 2000 als auch Jahn Reisen das Disneyland Resort Paris in einem
eigenen Katalog anbot). Den Zuschlag hat am Ende LTI als Betreiber
erhalten, die ein Teil der REWE Gruppe sind, doch sowohl Thomas Cook
(über ihre Tochter Neckermann Reisen) als auch REWE (über ihre Tochter
DerTour)
werden das Hotel ihren Gästen in Deutschland anbieten, die die
Hauptzielgruppe der neuen Anlage darstellen - doch auch Österreicher sind
selbstverständlich nicht ausgeschlossen, haben doch mit UBM und WARIMPEX
zwei Unternehmen aus Österreich unter der Aufsicht von Disney
Imagineering, die auch an der Planung und Gestaltung des aufwendig
gestalteten Hotels mitwirkten, dieses erbaut.
