The Magic Takes Shape...
The second half of 2001 saw the gardening and the decoration all of the WDS coming in in full swing. The Frontlot was even prepared so far to shoot the first TV-commercials at it - in additionquiet a few secrets were reveiled during these days... In der zweiten Jahreshälfte von 2001 wurden die Gärten angelegt und zahllose Dekorationen angebracht. Der Frontlot kam so weit, dass dort die erste TV-Werbefilme gedreht werden konnten - außerdem wurden einige Geheimnisse gelüftet...

A section of the cast member parking lot behind Discoveryland has been roped off for the crew of the Stunt Show of the WDS which has set up a mock-stage including this large ramp (for a car or a motor-cycle) to start rehearsing the show.
Taking a close look the large Princess-float from the Wonderful World of Disney Parade can be seen sitting behind the ramp in another section of the parking lot.		 Ein Teil des Cast Member Parkplatzes hinter Discoveryland wurde für die Crew der Stunt Show aus abgesperrt, die eine Probebühne samt großer Rampe (für PKW oder Motorräder) errichtet hat, um mit den Proben zu beginnen.
Bei genauerem Hinsehen ist hinter dieser in einem anderen Bereich des Parkplatzes der große Prinzessinen-Wagen aus der Wonderful World of Disney Parade auszumachen.

Next to the construction fence blocking off the new section of the large plaza between the Disney Village and the WDS this construction has shown up. The design of the front is supposed to look like a film... as there is a railing on both sides of the platform and wide stairs lead up to it this most propably is mend to offer guests a better view of the new Fantasia Gardens and the Entrance of the Studios without having to take the fence down. Direkt am Bauzaun, der die neue Plaza zwischen Village und WDS absperrt, ist diese Konstruktion aufgetaucht. Die Front soll den Eindruck eines Films erwecken... da auf beiden Seiten der Plattform ein Geländer zu sehen ist und eine breite Treppe hinauf führt, dürfte diese Konstruktion wohl dazu gedacht sein, Gästen einen guten Blick auf die neuen Fantasia Gardens und den Eingang der Studios zu bieten, ohne den Zaun abbauen zu müssen.

Once more a view of the future entrance as seen from the Disney Legends Statue - besides the fact that some work on top of the "tent"-roof of the Cinemagique seems to go on, one can see that the scaffolding on its facade has been taken down. Wieder ein Blick auf den Eingang, wie er von der Disney Legends Statue aus zu sehen ist - neben der Tatsache, dass Arbeiten auf dem "Zelt"-Dach des Cinemagique stattfinden zu scheinen, fällt auf, dass das Gerüst an seiner Fassade abgebaut wurde. Taking a look at the smaller archways behind theworkers one can see that the gates have been added here too, but the turnstyles are still missing. The gates are a lot less detailed than the main gate, but then guests will see them open most time anyway... In den kleineren Torbögen hinter den Arbeitern sind mittlerweile auch die Eingangstore eingesetzt worden, nur die Drehkreuze fehlen noch. Die Tore sind dabei deutlich einfacher gehalten als das Haupttor, doch werden die Gäste sie ohnehin fast nur offen erleben... The scaffolding of the Cinemagique has moved over the Plaza to the Animagique, where the paintjob moves forward fast. Progress can also be seen at the Hollywood Boulevard Soundstage (take a look at the lefter lower corner of the facade). Das Gerüst des Cinemagique ist zum Animagique gewandert, wo die Arbeiten schnell vorangehen. Auch am Hollywood Boulevard lassen sich Fortschritte der Maler ausmachen (besonders im linken unteren Bereich der Fassade).

The Disneyland Park Cast Member Parking Lot, famous among fans as here some parade floats are stored, now becomes the one-stop to look for news about the WDS, too. In this case the first completely assembled "train" for the Backlot Tram Tour was spotted. Note the red car pulling it has some yellow outlines of stars all over it. Of interest it may also be that the guests will be exposed to the wind and rain coming from the sides if they don't add any temporary windows for the winter-seasons later. Der Disneyland Park Cast Member Parkplatz, bisher ein Geheimtipp wegen der dort abgestellten Paradewagen, wird nun zu der Pilgerstätte auf der Suche nach WDS-Neuigkeiten. In diesem Fall findet sich dort der erste komplette "Zug" für die Backlot Tram Tour. Nur schwer zu erkennen sind die gelben Sternen-Umrisse, die den roten Zugwagen schmücken. Wenn nicht später temporäre Fenster für die Wintersaison eingesetzt werden, sind die Gäste jedoch Wind und Regen von der Seite ungeschützt ausgesetzt.

Want to get really rocked? Head for the "Studio 9"!
This sign has popped up on the facade of the building housing the Rock'n'Roller Coaster which will rock its guests not only with a thrilling ride but also a fitting high-energy soundtrack by Aerosmith.

Mal so richtig rocken? Dann nichts wie ab zum "Studio 9"!
Dieses Schild ist an der Fassade des Rock'n'Roller Coaster aufgetaucht, der seine Gäste sowohl mit einer haarsträubenden Fahrt als auch einem Power-Soundtrack von Aerosmith richtig rockt.

Next to the Stunt Show sets behind the ground work see the scaffolding for the Tram Tour Sign, (atop the already painted Animation Building) the Sorcerer's Hat whichs coverage is finished with only the stars missing and the already painted rear of the Animagique. Hinter den Erdarbeiten ist das Gerüst für das Tram Tour Schild zu sehen und (auf dem bereits gestrichenen Animations Gebäude) der Zauberer Hut, dessen Hülle nun fertig ist (nur die Sterne fehlen noch). Im Hintergrund das bereits gestrichene Animagique. The sets of the Stunt Show progress pretty well - isn't the left section already looking like a real mediterrean village? To be exact a small French mediterrean village? Why French? Note the writing on one of the walls in the center reading "Le Petit... Sav..."! Die Kulissen der Stunt Show machen große Fortschritte - sieht der linke Abschnitt nicht wie ein mediterranes Dorf aus? Um genau zu sein, wie ein französisches Mittelmeerdorf? Darauf deutet jedenfalls die Schrift an einer der Wände hin: "Le Petit... Sav..."!

The construction seen at the far left is the Catastrophe Canyon's back which is located at the edge of the park. The eye then glides across a small forest (inside some sets for the Tram Tour are under construction) and temporary bureaus for the Imagineers, before it gets more interesing. The triangle shaped glass roof in the background near the forest edge is a part of the Costume Building, the huge white construction in front of the Disneyland Hotel is a newly errected wall behind the Magic Carpet ride which soon should get painted to work as a fititng background for it. On the photo it's partly covered by the Animation Building (with the sorcerer's hat on top), in front of which again the scaffolding for the huge sign atop the Tram Tour Station can be seen. Note that behind the farest outstretching sets of the Stunt Show the facade of the Hollywood Boulevard facing into the park is not yet painted but partially covered by a scaffolding. Now you can continue your "stroll" along this far end of the studio park with the panorama below...

Das Bauwerk am linken Bildrand ist die "Rückseite" des Catastrophe Canyon, der in einer äußeren Ecke des Parks gelegen ist. Rechts des Waldes (in dem Kulissen entlang der Tram Tour entstehen) folgen die temporären Büros der Imagineers, bevor es wieder interessanter wird. Das dreieckige Glasdach im Hintergrund am Waldrand gehört zum Kostümgebäude, die große weiße Wand vor dem Disneyland Hotel dagegen ist hinter den Magic Carpets neu errichtet worden und wird wohl bald als passender Hintergrund bemalt. Auf dem Photo wird sie teilweise durch das Animatiosgebäude verdeckt (mit dem Zauberer Hut auf dem Dach), vor dem wiederum das Gerüst für das große Schild der Tram tour Station zu erkennen ist. Beachtenswert auch, daß hinter den äußersten Kulissen der Stunt Show die noch nicht gestrichene Fassade der Hollywood Boulevard Halle zum Park hin nun teilweise schon hinter einem Gerüst liegt. Den "Spaziergang" entlang dieses hinteren Endes des Studio Parks können sie mit dem folgenden Panorama fortsetzen...

All of the open fields between the current rear of the studio area and the street near the right edge of the photo could become a future expansion area ... but till then there is still plenty to do in the first phase e.g. three "Studio 9"-signs will be visible from this point in the future but only one is already finished. Between the Rock'n'Roller and the stands two flat buildings inside the studios can be seen (in front of the Gaumont which is already a part of the Disney Village) - the flat grey one should house the Studio Commissary / Backlot Express Restaurants while the beige one in the back is the home of the Disney Channel.

Das gesamte Feld von der Straße am rechten Bildrand bis zum jetzigen Ende der Studios steht für zukünftige Erweiterungen bereit ... doch bis dahin ist auch in Phase 1 noch einiges zu tun, so ist z.B. erst eines der drei "Studio 9"-Schilder am Rock'n'Roller fertiggestellt. Zwischen ihm und der Tribüne der Stunt Show sind vor dem Gaumont-Gebäude, das sich schon im Disney Village befindet, zwei Gebäude in den Studios auszumachen - das flache graue dürfte die Studio Commissary / Backlot Express Restaurants beherbergen, das beige dahinter den Disney Channel.

As this panorama, stretching from the small forrest covering the Catastrophe Canyon and the sets of the Tram Tour to the Rock'n'Roller building, shows the Stunt Show sets stretch further then the stands.
All hoping for a fast expansion of the WDS into the area behind the Stunt Show and the Rock'n'Roller will notice with dismay, that small trees have sprung up on the berm - which makes only sense on long term. This berm also blocks the view of the Animania building of which only the top of the Sorcerer's Hat can be seen here.

Das Panorama, das sich von dem kleinen Wald, der den Catastrophe Canyon und die Kulissen der Tram Tour verbirgt, bis zum Rock'n'Roller erstreckt, zeigt, dass die Kulissen der Stunt Show sich weiter als die Tribüne erstrecken.
Wer auf eine schnelle Expansion der WDS in den Bereich hinter der Tribüne hoffte, wird aber mit Enttäuschung feststellen, dass junge Bäume auf dem Wall gepflanzt wurden - was nur auf lange Sicht sinnvoll ist. Dieser Wall blockiert auch den Blick auf das Animania Gebäude von dem nur die Spitze des Hutes sichtbar ist.

The back of the stands for the Stunt Show now features two bright, bare steel stairways - hopefully only for the emergency case.
Also note that the walls around the stairs seem to have not been painted.		 Die Rückseite der Stunt Show Tribüne verfügt nun über zwei beinahe leuchtende Stahltreffen - hoffentlich als Notausgang.
Interessant ist auch, dass die Wand rund um die Treppen noch nicht gestrichen sind.		 There are still some scaffoldings visible around the sets which anyway look pretty finished from this point of view. Even the first lights to illuminate them have sprung up on the stand's roof - but here the sunlight does a perfect job.. Noch immer sind Gerüste bei den Kulissen zu sehen, die beinahe fertig gestellt wirken. Auf dem Dach der Tribüne finden sich sogar schon erste Scheinwerfer - hier aber erledigt das die Sonne perfekt. Seen here is not only the "Studio 9" sign that will adorne all the sides of the Rock'n'Roller building but also near the right edge of the picture a stripe running from the top to the bottom at the wall (facing away from the studios) where the cover has been teared off. Hier ist nicht nur das "Studio 9"-Schild zu sehen, das alle Seiten des Gebäudes zieren wird, sondern nahe dem rechten Bildrand auch eine Streifen, in dem vom Boden bis zur Oberkante die Verkleidung von der Wand entfernt wurde.

The ground in front of the future entrance to the studios is now finished so that an unobstructed view is now presented.
Some progress can also be detected on the building right behind the gate on the left side of the plaza, some paint has been added here.		 Der Boden vor dem zukünftigen Eingang ist nun fertiggestellt, so dass sich ein unbehinderter Anblick eröffnet.
Fortschritt ist auch an dem Gebäude hinter dem Eingang an der linken Seite der Plaza auszumachen, hier haben die Maler Hand angelegt.		 The construction on the left is the roof of a small stage on the plaza in front of the Disney Channel - here it is interesting to note the fence / railing added to the top of the roof - while the raw concrete construction is attached to  the Cinemagique on the right edge of the photo. Die Konstruktion links ist das Dach einer kleinen Bühne auf dem Platz vor dem Disney Channel - interessant ist dabei der "Zaun", der rund um das Dach errichtet wurde - der Betonrohbau ist dem Cinemagique (am rechten Bildrand) zuzuordnen.

The sets that will be seen along the route of the Tram Tour inside the small forest which hides them pretty well have been identified as a temple from the Hallmark/ABC-TV-event (=miniseries) Dinotopia airing in the US in May 2002. The pretty impressive sets are constructed massive and not only as faccades. Bei den Kulissen entlang der Tram Tour in dem kleinen Wald, der sie vor neugierigen Blicken schützt, handelt es sich um einen Tempel aus dem Hallmark/ABC-TV-Event (=Miniserie) Dinotopia, die im Mai 2002 in den USA ausgestrahlt wird. Die beeindruckenden Kulissen wurden massiv und nicht nur als Fassaden errichtet. The main entrance gate is illuminated each night now making the golden stars on it twinkel in the reflected light. The bright light seen behind it is cast through the huge window front of the Hollywod Boulevard Soundstage but unfortunately it is impossible to get a glimpse of what is going on inside... Der Haupteingang ist nun jede Nacht illuminiert, so dass die goldenen Sterne auf dem Tor im reflektierten Licht glitzern. Das helle Licht im Hintergrund fällt übrigens durch die große Glasfront der Halle des Hollywood Boulevard - doch leider ist nicht zu erkennen, was in seinem Inneren geschieht.
The white, flat construction at the front is a wall in the shap of a semicircle that went up behind Aladdin's Magic Carpets to block them from outside views and to add a fitting backdrop. Further in the rear behind the already painted Animania building the back of the Stunt show sets reveal that as usual in the movies they are just faccades with nothing behind it... Die weiße, flache Konstruktion im Vordergrund ist eine halbrunde Wand, die hinter Aladdin's Magic Carpets entstand, um sie nach Außen abzuschirmen und einen passenden Hintergrund zu liefern. Hinter dem Animania Gebäude ist auch die Rückseite der Stunt Show Kulissen auszumachen, die wie im Film üblich bloße Fassaden sind, wie sich hier gut erkennen lässt. This long distance shot shows the Catastrophe Canyon - don't expect any further theming of the bare parts depicted here, as guests are ment to get an inside look from backstage too. The characteristic rock behind the trees even so in the same color is not part of the Canyon but of the Big Thunder Mountain in the Disneyland Park. Diese Aufnahme zeigt den Catastrophe Canyon - eine weitere Gestaltung ist dabei nicht zu erwarten, da die Gäste auch einen Einblick in die Technik Backstage erhalten sollen. Der charakteristische Felsen hinter den Bäumen ist übrigens nicht Teil des Canyons sonder des Big Thunder Mountain im Disneyland Park.

Across the finally finished ground in front of the entrance the view wanders past the entrance archway to the towering facade of the Hollywood Boulevard Soundstage that looks as if the main paintshop behind the scaffolding has been finished. Über den fertiggestellten Boden vor dem Eingang wandert der Blick über den Torbogen zur großen Fasse der Hollywood Boulevard Studio-Halle, bei der hinter dem Gerüst der Hauptanstrich ebenfalls erledigt scheint. The letters are the first striking element of this photo - but also note how the shape of the archway is reflected in white on the facade of the soundstage in the background and that the huge glas front is divided on ground level in the middle. Der Schriftzug fällt zuerst auf - beachtenswert ist aber auch, wie die Form des Torbogens in weiß auf der Hallenfassade wieder aufgegriffen wird, sowie dass die Glasfront dieser im unteren Bereich durch eine Mauer geteilt wird. This close up of the Disney Channel Building's back (facing away from the park), shows that on the upper floor of the bureau buildingpart, spanning around the actual soundstage (the grey part) on three sides of it, even has a balcony! Diese Nahaufnahme des der vom Park wegzeigenden Seite des Disney Channels zeigt, dass der Büroabschnitt, der an drei Seiten das eigentliche Studio (die graue Halle) umgibt, im oberen Stockwerk sogar einen Balkon hat.

Take a close look at the part of the Fantasia Gardens located to the left of the main walkway leading to the Entrance of the Walt Disney Studios - notice the white concrete? This seems to be smaller path added to lead guests a bit into the lush gardens... Schauen Sie einmal genau auf den Teil der Fantasia Gardens links des Hauptweges zum Eingang der Studios - sehen Sie den weißen Beton? Dabei scheint es sich um einen kleineren Weg zu handeln, der die Gäste ein Stück in die Gärten hineinführt... The Hollywood Boulevard Soundstage's front facade has been painted in the ubiquitous color and the scaffolding has come down - except for a small section on the right and in front of its entrance, above which still some preparation for another construction, maybe a little roof, is going on. Die Fassade des Hollywood Boulevard Studios ist in der allgegenwärtigen Farbe gestrichen und das Gerüst entfernt worden - nur weit außen rechts und vor dem Eingang steht es noch. Über dem Eingang wird noch weiter gearbeitet, eventuell wird hier ein kleines Vordach oder ähnliches vorbereitet.

Comparing the vista of the Walt Disney Studios with earlier shots there is a lot of progress visible, but most of it only small details. It starts at the new section of the Fantasia Gardens (near the right edge) where the white lamps can be spotted through the green of the new trees, and continues at the Entrance Plaza of the studios. Obviously the three main soundstages have been painted finally, but interesting also the preparations above the entrance to the "Lights, Camera, Hollywood"-soundstage. Taking a close look at the area between this soundstage and the Animagique to its right a new wall is under construction to block the view from the Plaza onto the tent-roof going down all the way to the ground. Further to the left between the Cinemagique and the Disney Channel Studio, which's building is getting more and more fine tuned with decorative elements, some new construction is going on behind the plaza. The only interesting change to spot further to the left is the sign with the number of the soundstage that went up on the Rock'n'Roller-building. Im Vergleich zu älteren Panoramen der Walt Disney Studios ist der Fortschritt deutlich auszumachen, wenn er auch meist in kleinen Details liegt. Das beginnt mit den Fantasia Gardens (rechts im Bild), in denen die weißen Lampen durch das Grün der Bäume scheinen und setzt sich fort im Bereich der Entrance Plaza der Studios. Ganz offensichtlich ist, daß die drei Studiohallen hier nun fertig gestrichen sind, interessant ist aber auch die Konstruktion oberhalb des Eingangs der "Lights, Camera, Hollywood"-Halle. Bei genauem Hinsehen ist außerdem eine neue Mauer zwischen dieser und der rechts angrenzenden Halle des Animagique zu erkennen, die wohl den Blick von der Plaza auf das bis zum Boden reichende Zeltdach des Theaters verdecken soll. Weiter links ist zwischen dem Cinemagique und dem Disney Channel Studio, das mehr und mehr Dekorationselemente erhält, im Hintergrund gleich eine Reihe von neuen Bauarbeiten auszumachen. Im weiteren ist nur noch eine Veränderung offensichtlich auszumachen: das Schild mit der Studio-Nummer, das nun das äußere des Rock'n'Roller-Gebäudes ziert.

Finally the lamps right in front of the entrance gates have been added too. In tune with the art-deco-style of the studio entrance they feature their own design differing from the lamps inside the Fantasia Gardens. Nun wurden auch die Lampen direkt an den Eingängen montiert. Passend zum Art-Deco-Stil der Studios haben sie dabei ein eigenes Design, das sich von dem der Lampen in den Fantasia Gardens unterscheidet. The archway of the main entrance seen from the side - an unusual view that reveals an interesting item on top of the archway not visible from the front or the rear, that could be a solar panel. Der große Torbogen des Haupteingangs einmal von der Seite - eine ungewöhnliche Perspektive, die eine sonst nicht sichtbare Konstruktion auf dem Bogen zeigt, bei der es sich um ein Solarpaneel handeln könnte. Seen between the trees of the new section of the Fantasia Gardens are the arcades above the actual entrance for guests, which's color matches perfectly the little bit darker tone of the facade of the "Lights, Camera, Hollywood"-Soundstage behind it. The are still some open electrical cables for lamps to be added to the arcades. Zwischen den Bäumen sind hier die Arkaden über den Eingängen des Parks für die Gäste zu sehen, deren Farbe perfekt mit dem etwas dunkleren Ton der "Lights, Camera, Hollywood"-Halle im Hintergrund harmoniert. An den Arkaden sind noch einige offene Kabel zu erkennen, wohl für noch anzubringende Lampen.

Notice how the Fantasia-Gardens-style lamps are placed only a few meters away from the arcades above the entrance to generate a smooth transition to and from the studios. Behind the arcades a not yet paintes facade of the low buildings on the right side of the Entrance Plaza and the new concrete wall to block the view onto the lower part of tent roof of the Animagique Theater. Auffällig hier, daß die Lampen im Fantasia-Gardens-Stil nur wenige Meter entfernt von den Eingangsarkaden plaziert wurden, um einen weichen Übergang zu schaffen. Im Hintergrund eine noch nicht gestrichene Fassade der flachen Gebäude rechts der Entrance Plaza und eine neue Wand, um den Blick auf den unteren Teil des Zeltdaches des Animagique Theaters zu verhindern. This little tower is sitting atop the low buildings framing the Entrance Plaza to the right - and it is the last major element in this area of the park not yet painted - but as one can see they are working on this... Dieser kleiner Turm sitzt auf dem flachen Gebäude, das die Entrance Plaza nach rechts hin begrenzt - und ist das letzte größere Element in diesem Bereich, das noch gestrichen werden muß, aber wie man sieht, wird daran gerarbeitet...

The entrance of the Cinemagique Theater is still set in bare concrete - not so much change here, but some new steel scaffolding has went up on the Animation building behind it. Der Eingang des Cinemagique ist fast unverändert im rohen Beton belassen worden, doch auf dem Animations Gebäude dahinter ist ein Stahlgerippe entstanden. Looking through teh columns the Earffel Tower rests on the facade of the "Lights, Camera, Hollywood"-soundstage looks pretty advanced, even a lamp has gone up next to its entrance above which some construction is going on. Der Blick zwischen den Pfeilern hindurch, auf denen der Earffel Tower ruht, zeigt eine weit fortgeschrittene Fassade von "Lights, Camera, Hollywood", sogar schon mit einer großen Laterne neben dem Eingang, über dem noch gearbeitet wird. Unfortunately one can't look through the windows into the huge soundstage, but instead may discover the three dimensional Mickey-shape on the fence seen in front of it but actually located next to the entrance arcades. Leider kann man nicht durch die Fenster in das Innere der Halle sehen, dafür aber ist im Vordergrund die dreidimensionale Mickey-Form auf dem Zaun zu erkennen, der sich neben den Eingangsarkaden befindet.

The wall behind the Flying Carpets can only be seen from the back - most propably the cover sheets and the scaffolding they are resting on (which is higher than the actual wall) are there temporarily to protect paintings being added on the other side. Die Wand hinter den Flying Carpets ist momentan nur von hinten einzusehen - höchstwahrscheinlich sind die Plastikplanen und das Gerüst, das höher als die Wand ist, eine temporäre Kosntruktion zum Schutz von Malerarbeiten auf der anderen Seite. This shot is full of "news" - see the colorful  decoration column that went up on the Disney Chanel on the left, then note the first trees to be planted inside the studios and behind them some fake-facades going up, most propably to enhance the studio feeling and close of the plaza... Diese Aufnahme ist voller "Neuigkeiten" - so die auffällige Dekorations-Säule an der Fassde des Disney Chanel, und direkt vor diesem die ersten Bäume, die im Park gepflanzt werden, sowie im Hintergrund die Vorbereitungen für Film-Fassaden, die das Studio-Feeling wohl fördern sollen. Behind the containers of the construction crew the main "landmark" of the small stage located in the center of the Production Courtyard (again: note the trees just planted) is under construction, while further in the back a fake-facade of is under construction - most propably right next to the track of the Tram Tour. Hinter den Containern der Baucrew im Vordergrund ist das "Wahrzeichen" der kleinen Bühne im Zentrum des Production Courtyard kurz vor der Fertigstellung (man beachte erneut die frisch gepflanzten Bäume). Im Hintergrund entsteht die Filmfassade eines Hauses, wahrscheinlich direkt an der Tram Tour Strecke.

From a distance the fake facades under construction, seen in the two shots above seperately, form together with some otherfacades under  construction a closed ensemble of "buildings"/facades... Aus der Entfernung bilden die Filmfassaden, die getrennt in den beiden Photos oben zu sehen waren, gemeinsam mit einigen weiteren Konstruktionen ein geschlossenes Ensemble von Gebäuden/Fassaden. This is the rear facade of the Disney Chanel Studios (as the logo on the wall facing to the left proofes) which can't be seen from inside the park - to the right the roof of the stage in the center of the Production Courtyard. Das ist die rückwertige Fassade der Disney Chanel Studios (wie das Logo an der Wand links beweist), die nicht aus dem Park zu sehen ist - weiter rechts dann das Dach der Bühne im zentrum des Production Courtyard.

Another unusual view - showing that the pitoresque mediterrean village that forms the background for the Stunt Show is in fact nothing but a perfetc created illusion: modelled facades on a steel framework! Diese ungewöhnliche Perspektive enthüllt, das das malerische Mittelmeerdorf, das als Schauplatz der Stunt Show dient, nichts als eine perfekte Illusion ist: modellierte Fassaden auf einem Stahlgerippe! These two buildings supposed to be build wall to wall are in fact just one large building housing the Rock'n'Roller-coaster but the keep the look of two buildings the little bit lower part is now officially the "studio 9", while the higher part is "studio 8". Diese beiden Gebäude, scheinbar Wand an Wand gebaut, sind in Wirklichkeit nur ein Gebäude, das des Rock'n'Roller-Coaster. Doch um den Anschein zu wahren, ist der etwas niedrigere Teil nun offiziell "Studio 9", der höhere "Studio 8".

The Stunt Show of the Studios seems to have entered the next level of preparation. Black smokes raises from the stage area behind the stands (seen here from the back) into the evening sky - most propably from a test of the pyrotechnical equipment.  Die Stunt Show hat die nächste Stufe der Vorbereitung erreicht. Deutlich sichtbar ist hier der schwarze Rauch der von der Bühne hinter der Tribüne (die hier von hinten zu sehen ist) aufsteigt - wohl von einem Text der pyrotechnischen Ausstattung. The tests continued long into the night. Even so none of the effects was visible, the brightly lit stands could be spotted for hours ... by the way, it looks as if no seats have been added to the concrete stands yet. Die Tests wurde bis spät in die Nacht fortgesetzt. Auch wenn dabei keiner der Effekte von Außen sichtbar war, so konnte doch leicht die hell erleuchtete Tribüne ausgemacht werden ... auf der scheinbar noch keine Sitze installiert wurden

At a first glance the gate that has been added halfway to the entrance of the studios seems the only change since the last photo of this area, but then take a close look at the archway above the entrance: the small letters reading "Paris" below the "Walt Disney Studios" have been taken off! Auf den ersten Blick scheint nur das auf halbem Weg zu Eingang errichtete Tor die Veränderung seit dem letzten Photo dieses Bereiches. Ein genauer Blick auf den Torbogen über dem Eingang enthüllt aber, das kleine Wort "Paris" unter "Walt Disney Studios" entfernt wurde! More and more details are going into the sets of the Stunt Show and the last gaps are being closed, e.g. the front of the building below the bell tower is all new. Also note the construction above the white container in the left - this seems to be the rear of a false front of a house to conceal the white container... Mehr und mehr Details werden in den Stunt Show Kulissen ergänzt und die letzten Lücken geschlossen. Neu ist die Front unterhalb des Glockenturms und die Konstruktion oberhalb des weißen Containers links. Dabei handelt es sich wohl um die Rückseite einer Häuserfront, um den Container zu verbergen.

The Earfell Tower is brightly lit each and every night now advertising the upcoming second themepark to the guests leaving the Disneyland Park or staying a bit longer in the Disney Village. Der Earfell Tower ist nun jede Nacht hell erleuchtet und verkündet den Gästen, die den Disneyland Park verlassen oder sich im Disney Village vergnügen, das hier bald ein zweiter Park eröffnen wird. The illumination of the archway above the entrance to the studios seems to be complete now too.
Note that the lamps have been added to the columns of the archway and the arcades on its sides.		 Die Beleuchtung des Torbogens über dem Eingang der Studios scheint nun komplett.
Die letzte Veränderung war die Ergänzung der Lampen an den Säulen des Bogens und an den Arkaden auf beiden Seiten.

A scaffolding has been added to the top of the Earfell Tower - as at that point of time the purpose of the action was unknown rumors sprung up immediately as far fetched as another name change... Ein Gerüst wurde um den eigentlichen Wassertank des Earfell Tower errichtet - wegen des damals unbekannen Zwecks entstanden sofort Spekulationen sogar über eine Namensänderung. In the front a close up of one of the lamps in the new section of the Fantasia Gardens and behind it the Disney Channel Studios' bureau-annex which is already in use. Im Vordergrund eine Nahaufnahme einer Lampe im neuen Bereich der Fantasia Gardens - dahinter der Bürobereich der Disney Channel Studios, der bereits bezogen ist.

A wonderful evening atmosphere around entrance of the studios - only the scaffolding of the water tank on the Earfell Tower disturbs the look as it blocks the illumination for most of the Tower. Without this one could believe that the gates could open as early as tomorrow... Eine wundervolle Abendstimmung im Eingangsbereich der Studios - nur das Gerüst um den Wassertank des Earfell Tower stört, blockt es doch den größten Teil der Beleuchtung des Turms. Ohne diese Störung könnte man glauben, daß sich die Tore schon Morgen öffnen...

The progress on the stage / at the sets of the Stunt Show is made in unexpexted areas. While no obvious new details have been added to the sets in the area of themeing a big screen has been added right into the center of the sets opposite the stands - most propably to offer detailed views of the stunts. Also not the bare lightning tower that went up. Der Fortschritt im Bühnenbereich bzw. bei den Kulissen der Stunt Show findet zur Zeit in ganz unerwarteten Bereich statt: eine große Leinwand wurde im zentralen Bereich der Kulissen gegenüber der Tribüne installiert, wohl um Nahaufnahmen der Stunt zeigen zu können. Außerdem wurde ein Beleuchtungsturm ganz ohne Themeing errichtet... Further left of the last sets of the Stunt Show (seen from behind the stands) huge new facades have been errected - but with the fake-facade facing away from the Stunt Show area, toward the last leg of the Tram Tour track. In front of these in this picture (so actually behind them for future guests) what looks like a little submarine has been placed as if on display. Links der letzten Kulissen der Stunt Show (gesehen von der Tribüne aus) wurden große Fassaden errichtet - die Front zum letzten Abschnitt der Tram Tour und damit weg von der Stunt Show gerichtet. Im Photo vor diesen Kulissen, für Gäste also später hinter ihnen, ist ein Fahrzeug zu sehen, bei dem es sich um ein U-Boot handeln könnte, das hier zur Ausstellung plaziert wurde.

The rehearsals for the Stunt Show continue not only on the sets currently ... here the stuntmen are having a short briefing. Note the extra tire sticking out of one of the car's rear windows on a long pole. Die Proben für die Stunt Show gehen auch außerhalb der Bühne weiter ... hier haben die Stuntmen gerade eine kurze Besprechung. Auffällig ist das Extra-Rad das an einer langen Stange aus einem der hinteren Fenster ragt. Another car prepared for some action in the Stunt Show. Just as there are two BMWs with an extra tire in the background, an identical car to the one seen in front is standing a bit in the rear too. Ein weiterer für die Stunt Show vorbereite Wagen. Ebenso wie zwei BMWs mit Extra-Rad im Hintergrund zu sehen sind, ist am rechten Bildrand auch ein zweiter Wagen des selben Typs wie im Vordergrund zu sehen.

The Sorcerer's Hat and the Art of Animation building below/around it feature strong, lively colors now, but even more interesting is the genie's lamp sticking above the wall blocking the view onto the Carpets over Agrabah ride in whichs center the lamp throns. Further behind it the facade of Armaggedon is taking shape.
The cranes in the background are not on WDS-property but instead on Val d'Europe ground.		 Der Zauberer Hut und das Art of Animation Gebäude strahlen bereits in ihren kräften Farben - aber interessanter noch dürfte die Wunderlampe sein, die über die Wand hinausragt, die wiederum den Blick auf die Carepts over Agrabah Attraktion blockiert, in deren Zentrum die Lampe thront.
Die Kräne im Hintergrund allerdings stehen nicht auf dem WDS-Gelände sondern am Val d'Europe.

The "preview center" on the plaza between the Disney Village, the RER-station and the Fantasia Gardens consists only of a platform with some stairs leading up to it, from which the guest has an unobstructed view across the construction-fence toward the main entrance of the studios and the impressive archway leading onto the Frontlot. It seems as if many guests didn't quiet know what to think about it as roughly 5 months after it opened signs have been added next to it informing guests about the proposed sense of the platform. Das "Preview Center" auf der Plaza zwischen dem Disney Village, der RER-Station und den Fantasia Gardens besteht lediglich aus einer Platform und Treppen, die zu ihr hinaufführen, um dem Gast einen unbehinderten Blick über den Zaun auf den Eingang der Studios und den beeindruckenden Torbogen vor dem Frontlot zu gewähren. Doch scheint es, als hätte viele Gäste den Sinn dieser Konstruktion nicht ganz erkannt, denn nun ca. 5 Monate nach Errichtung der Platform wurden diese erläuternden Hinweisschilder ergänzt.

The scaffolding around the actual water tank of the Earfell Tower has been taken down - but the difference on the tower is only obvious in direct comparison. As seen on the last photo before the scaffolding went up, the words "Walt Disney" in the film reel were written in red, while they have been now repainted in white, which makes them easier visible even from a long distance. Das Gerüst rund um den Wassertank des Earfell Tower wurde wieder entfernt - den unterschied am Turm sieht man jedoch nur im direkten Vergleich. Wie auf dem letzten Photo vor der Installation des Gerüstes gut zu erkennen, waren die Worte "Walt Disney" ursprünglich in Rot auf den Film geschrieben, wurden jetzt aber in Weiß überarbeitet, so daß sie auch aus einiger Entfernung lesbar bleiben.
