The Circus in a Country House - at the Holiday Inn?!

The grand opening of the Disneyland Resort Paris Selected Hotel Holiday Inn at Val de France took place on schedule in early summer 2003. The facade of the huge "country house" now towers impressive above the landscape - but during the whole process fans wondered what to expect from a circus time indoors. As far as could be judged from then outside construction of the hotel located between the Parkhotel and the hotel operated by Kyriad (part of the Envergure group) was destined for huge, impressive concepts...

Die Eröffnung des Holiday Inn Disneyland Resort Selected Hotel im Val de France fand im Zeitplan im frühen Sommer 2003 statt. Nunmehr thront die Fassade des großen "Landsitzes" groß über dem Tal - doch während der gesamten Bauphase fragten sich Fans, wie wohl die Innengestaltung mit dem Zirkusthema ausfallen würde. Ausgehend von dem was die Beobachtung der Außenbauarbeiten der zwischen dem Parkhotel und dem Hotel von Kyriad (Teil der Envergure Gruppe) gelegenen Anlage ergab, waren große, aufwendige Konzepte zu erwarten...

This is the official construction notice / permission for the new Holiday Inn operated hotel with 400 rooms (as seen on the sign) even so Holiday Inn is not named as owner or operator ...	Dies ist die offizielle Bauinformation für das 400-Zimmer Hotel von Holiday Inn, auch wenn Holiday Inn auf dem Schild nicht als Eigentümer oder Betreiber erwähnt wird ...	... but the extra sign Holiday Inn has put up next to the official one clarifies that. It also reveals that the hotel will feature a pool and rooms for conventions / meetings.	Doch das zusätzliche Schild, das Holiday Inn direkt neben dem offiziellen Anschlag angebracht hat, klärt das und informiert, dass das Hotel einen Pool und Konferenz/Meeting-Räume bieten wird.

Work in Val de France has begun - in a first step the ground is going to be prepared. Even so this shot shows the area of the future Holiday Inn operated hotel this work is done for all hotels with the exception of the Parkhotel at the same time. Groundwork for the lake is already starting (not seen here).		Die Arbeiten im Val de France haben begonnen - in einem ersten Schritt wird der Boden vorbereitet. Auch wenn hier der Bereich des zukünftig von Holiday Inn betriebenen Hotels zu sehen ist, finden die Arbeiten für alle Hotels außer dem Parkhotel gleichzeitig statt. Auch der Aushub des Sees beginnt schon (hier nicht zu sehen).

The construction cranes are visible even from Disney's Hotel Santa Fe which indicates that maybe the highest turrets or roof tops will be too. Right now the cranes already are an impressive sight especially when illuminated by the early morning sun as in this shot.	Die Kräne auf der Baustelle sind sogar von Disney's Hotel Santa Fe aus zu sehen, wie später eventuell auch die höchsten Türme und Dachspitzen der Anlage. Momentan aber wirken selbst die Kräne schon beeindruckend, vor allem wenn sie von der Morgensonne derart illuminiert werden.

Passing by the construction site on the Boulevard Circulaire guests now can't miss anymore that Holiday Inn is constructing a new hotel thanks to this sign on the temporary bureaus.	Wer auch immer auf dem Boulevard Circulaire die Baustelle passiert, kann nun nicht mehr übersehen, dass Holiday Inn ein Hotel baut dank dieses Schildes an den Büro-Containern.	The construction has not progressed as fast as at the Explorers Hotel it seems on first sight, as the middle section is still growing vertical and there is no paint seen on any part of the facade.	Die Bauarbeiten sind auf den ersten Blick noch nicht so weit fortgeschritten wie am Explorers Hotel, wächst hier doch der Mittelbereich noch immer vertikal und auch ein Anstrich ist noch nicht zu erkennen.

Seen from the Boulevard Circulaire (in front of the future Parkhotel) the concrete construction seems pretty much finished and most of the work dedicated to the roofs.	Vom Boulevard Circulaire (direkt vor dem zukünftigen Parkhotel) aus gesehen scheint der Betonrohbau fast beendet und die meiste Arbeit momentan auf die Dachstühle konzentriert.

This photo is taken from the spot of the future Parkhotel and shows the Holiday Inn operated hotel from the side, with the Boulevard Circulaire beingt to the right of this photo.	Dieses Photo ist von der Position des zukünftigen Parkhotel aus aufgenommen und zeigt die Seite des von Holiday Inn betriebenen Hotels, mit dem Boulevard Circulaire rechts außerhalb des Photos	An impressive high roof will tower over the central section of the hotel - its wooden sceletton has just been errected.	Eine beachtliches Dach wird über dem Mittelbereich des Hotels thronen - sein hölzernes Gebälk wurde gerade erst errichtet.

This photo shows how the impressive "tower" works as a connection of the different wings of the hotel, seen here from the main road passing by Val de France. The main entrance will be located in the red brick wing to the right.	Dieses Photo zeigt gut, wie der "Turm" als Verbindung der einzelnen Flügel der Anlage fungiert, gesehen hier von der an Val de France vorbeiführenden Strasse. Der Haupteingang des Hotels wird im roten Backsteinflügel rechts liegen.	Going down the road further and turning back the huge vista of the hotel with the terrace in front of the tower becomes visible - a comparision with teh photos from last fall clearly shows the progress.	Folgt man der Straße und dreht sich zurück, so öffnet sich der Blick auf die Seitenansicht mit der großen Terrasse - der direkte Vergleich mit Photos aus dem letzten Herbst zeigt dann auch deutlich den Baufortschritt.
