2005 nicht nur Space Mountain: Mission 2 der letzte Schliff
verpasst, sondern auch die neue Buzz Lightyear Attraktion gebaut.

Originally scheduled to open April 9 2005 with the press and VIP the
night before, the management decided to reschedule the opening to
April 6 to avoid a collission in the press with the second wedding
of Prince Charles on April 8. Therefore or as a prank someone
changed the opening date on at least one of the teaser posters on
the construction fence, only to have it changed back four days later,
as the management decided only to move the press and VIP event to
April 6!
Ursprünglich sollte die Attraktion am 9. April eröffnen und das
Presse- und VIP-Event in der Nacht zuvor stattfinden. Dann beschloss
das Management die Eröffnung auf den 6. vorzuziehen, damit die
Presseberichterstattung nicht durch die zweite Hochzeit von Prince
Charles am 8. April beeinträchtigt wird. Daher oder als Gag wurde
das Eröffnungsdatum auf wenigstens einem der Poster am Bauzaun
verändert, nur um 4 Tage später wieder als 9. April dort zu prangen,
da ausschließlich die Presse- und VIP-Eröffnung auf den 6.
vorverlegt wurde!
Here one day, gone the next. Only 5 days ago the Visionarium sign
was still in place, the last obstacle in front of the building - not
it has been dismantled too, leaving a complete flat and empty area
in front of the building. Last reminder of the Visionarium ist now
the mural of Timekeeper. The wooden panneling is only covering its
lower half. Maybe more interesting: a new wall (which seems to be
silver colored) is closing of the interior of the building already,
with a new entrance gate in the dead center.
Da am ersten, weg am zweiten Tag. Noch vor 5 Tagen konnten wir
berichten, dass das Visionarium-Schild das letzte Hinderniss auf der
Fläche vor dem Gebäude war - doch jetzt ist es ebenfalls abgebaut
worden, so dass eine leere, ebene Fläche zurückbleibt. Letzter
Hinweis auf das Visionarium ist nun das Wandgemälde von Timekeeper,
das nur in der unteren Hälfte durch Holzbretter verdeckt ist.
Vielleicht noch interessanter: eine neu (scheinbar silberne) Wand
schließt das Gebäude bereits wieder ab - mit einer neuen Zugangstür
fast genau in der Mitte.
This panorama shows that even so the mountain's main exterior rehab
was finished there is still work to be done. Note that the
replacement poster on the mountain at the end of the bridge is not
yet in place but the support-beams are still in place. Even so hard
to see here, the new entrance arch on top of the bridge is not yet
in place. In addition there are no lamp posts around the queue area.
The lamp posts on the walkway leading up to Les Mystere du Nautilus
are also missing, but disappeared already before the rehab - still
it seems as if more of the lamp posts in the area have been replaced
with those temporary covers - is this part of a slight rethemeing of
the area??
Dises Panorama zeigt, dass auch wenn die Hauptarbeiten am Äußeren
des Mountains bereits abgeschlossen sind, noch genug zu tun ist. So
fehlt noch das neue Poster am Ende der Brücke - die Halteträger sind
noch von dem Vorgänger vorhanden. Außerdem ist der neue
Eingangsbogen am Kopf der Brücke noch nicht installiert (hier schwer
zu erkennen). Außerdem fehlen Lampen im Wartebereich. Die Lampen
entlang des Weges zu Les Mystere du Nautilus verschwanden schon vor
der Renovierung, doch scheint es als wären jetzt zusätzlich Lampen
durch die temporären Abdeckungen ersetzt worden - vielleicht Teil
einer vorsichtigen Anpassung der Gestatlung des Bereiches??
The craneis gone without any major changes to the exterior - but
since the exterior was rehabed in 2004 this was not to be expected.
This shot anyway shows an interesting change of the exterior
compared to the pre-rehab version (on the right): take a close look
at the grey steel cover for the wlkway leading up next to the canon.
It was completely replaced as an older photo shows - unfortunately
the new version stand out more as it is not integrated into the
color-scheme of the building.
Der Kran ist verschwunden, ohne dass wesentliche Neuerungen am
Äußeren des Gebäudes zu erkennen wären. Das war aber auch nicht
anders zu erwarten, nachdem die Fassade erst 2004 renoviert worden
war. Dieses Photo zeigt aber einen interessanten Unterschied im
Vergleich mit einem Photo vor der Renovierung (rechts): der Schutz
der Treppe neben der Kanone wurde vollständig erneuert. Leider ist
die neue Version mangels passender Farbgebung auffälliger.
