To download a background just left-click on the appropriate link for the background of your choice in the correct size for your system. It will be displayed in a new browser window. There right-click on the photo and select "save image as..." and choose the correct file path on your hard-drive. You are nearly done now, all that is left is setting the file as background in your system-preferences!

Alternatively choose "set as Wallpaper" (or similar, depending on your browser) when right-clicking on the photo, which will then be saved to your hard-drive and implemented as background automatically. But note: your current background will be deleted during this process.

For better handling and -preview-options all backgrounds are offered in the ".jpg"-format as common for compressed graphics. If your operating system requires a different format for backgrounds just save the background of your choice to your hard-drive, open the file with your graphic tool and save it again, this time in the appropriate format.

 Um einen Bildschirmhintergrund herunter zu laden, klicken Sie auf den Link des Hintergrunds Ihrer Wahl in der passenden Auflösung. Der Hintergrund wird dann in einem neuen Fenster dargestellt. Dort klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Foto, wählen "Bild speichern unter..." und geben den Dateipfad auf Ihrer Festplatte an. Das war es schon fast, nur noch in der Systemeinstellung die Datei als Hintergrund eintragen!

Wahlweise können Sie nach dem "Rechtsklick" auch "Als Hintergrund" (oder ähnlich, abhängig von Ihrem Browser) wählen. Dann wird das Photo direkt auf Ihrer Festplatte gespeichert und als neuer Hintergrund eingebunden. Aber Vorsicht: Ihr aktueller Hintergrund wird dabei gelöscht.

Zwecks besserer Online-Verwaltung und Vorschau-Optionen werden alle Hintergründe im ".jpg"-Format angeboten. Sollte Ihr Betriebssystem ein anderes Format voraussetzen, speichern Sie einfach den Hintergrund Ihrer Wahl auf der Festplatte ab, öffnen ihn mit Ihrem Graphikprogramm und speichern ihn in dem benötigten Format.
